Ok, I am on my way to selling things I have to get another SA12 and then change my amp to a SAZ1500D. I am working on a design for the 2 12s now, however I have never done this kind of design so I need someone to check it, and if I am wrong just let me know. Anyway the box is net of 4cuft after displacement, with a 18.5"x2"x24" port tuned at 29Hz. As I said I have never done this kind of design so I do need input, what I figured was the port needed to be with the sharing of 2 walls 24" long, so I designed a T shaped port, now the way I thought it through was because the port had two sections extending out that they should each be half the remaining length of port after th…

Hey guys, first post, but a long time follower of the forum. So here's my questions. I've got a 98 explorer with a 130amp alternator, yellow top optima 55AH, upgraded big 3 (i think, got a question about that too in this post) with all 4 gauge, 1.5 farad Rockford cap w/ digi display, one Saz 1500d, and one jl 13w7 in a ported box built to the jl specs, wired in parallel so it's at 0.75ohm load. Looking at the owners manual for the 1500d it says 1500@1ohm, 800@2ohm, etc., so what would it be pushing at 0.75ohms? I have a 100amp ANL fuse between the battery and the cap. The owner of a local car audio shop told me that my amp wasn't pushing more than 1000 watts if i wasn't …

Well, my Nightshade bit the dust about a week or two ago, and I'm just now getting around to posting it. I'm not 100% positive about what happened but I want to run it past you guys first and see if I need a Recone or a new sub. I was pounding like I usually do on my way to work, and it was incredibly loud. As in louder than I've ever heard it before. Anyways, in my 15 minute commute to work, I had pulled up in the parking lot and just as I did, the sub stopped working. Wtf...? I wondered to myself and probably said aloud. I pulled into a parking space, and popped the hatch and there was smoke rolling out of the port. I quickly managed to lift my box and get the sub out.…

well ive built many boxes for my ext cab s10 over the past 2 years, and ive never really been happy with it. Right now im running 3 sa12's on a saz 3500. my box currently is 5.26cubes @ 31hz with 81.25 in2 of port, with subs firing forward, port up drivers side. The box i tried before this was subs forward, 2 6" aeros firing up @ 36hz. I liked the box with the aeros but wouldn't play the lows i wanted it to (but found out later after 2nd box my ssf needed to be turned down, so im not truly sure if it would play the lows i wanted it to or not. So my question is, is there anyone with experience with trucks like these, and what should i do next? i would like to reuse my 6" a…

  10. As much as I love the beast that is the 200.4 it's our lowest selling model. We are teaming up with WoofersEtc.com to get this closed out -- keep your eye on their site for them to be added at a special price. I am saving one for my personal car as it's an awesome amp -- so if you wanted one get in touch with WoofersEtc.com soon

Some pics from the latest production run that was recently on pre-order that is due end of July to first of August. These have all of the updates to date on the v.1 plus : 1) New slightly taller spacer ring with full Sundown logo (few mm extra for SPL burps) 2) New revised cast frame with better clearances They are compatible with other SA-8s made to date as these are still a v.1 model.

Just pre-ordered an SA-8 to play around with...can't wait to receive it! Gives me time to build the box. From what it looks like, something like a .75-1 cu. ft. ported around 34 or 35Hz should be a good starting point for good sound/efficiency right? Planning on running about 450-500 watts to it.

Hello everyone. Anyways my stupid question is does jacob send tracking info when shipping an item? If so I suppose my amp hasn't shipped yet. Just curious though. I searched for my old email from when I ordered my 1500d but didn't see it. Also since I made a thread I suppose I'll do a mini build of installing the amp (125.2) on my components. I know everyone likes pics One more thing. It appears the led on my remote gain on my saz-1500 died, is that common or what? Not too concerned since it's just an led but I'd thought i would ask. Going to test the led to confirm later. Anyways thanks everyone and keep up the good work Jacob!

  15. My buddy just Bought a pair of nightshades and noticed the z series have the same wattage but are cheaper so obviously the nightshades are better but in what way? SpL? Are the z series more for SQ? what's the difference physically about them? For everyday pounding and not competition, what would you recommend? Thanks. Marcus G

  17. This is the specs for the box. The main part is built Im finishing the rest when it can be done. AS it can be done. Whats left is cutting out the holes for the subs, and cutting out the hole for the port to go in. tuning is right at 35HZ with 2 Cubes of port! THIS IS THE BOX IM USING CURRENTLY...INSIDE THE NEW BOX!!! nice This is funny because the current box at .6 cubes seems WAY louder than my friends (2) MTX 12's in 4th order slotted band-pass. Some kinda of pre-fab looking box that I don think was pre-fabricated.

  18. Just got off the phone with my local machine shop... looks like they can make the copper tube I need @ 75mm long x 74mm ID x 76mm OD Also looks like I can get a 77mm diameter coil former from Precision... and that I have a nifty motor here already in stock with a 40mm tall top plate. Can anyone guess what I'm doing ? Hint : When I'm done with the first one it's going in my daily driver.

Well I got another itch to build another box, so since I was near out of wood and low on funds I was looking around my garage and spy'd a box I had a long while back sitting in the corner. A standard CRX box but with a top plate for 4 10s, so it's 29"x29"x14". So I decided to see what I could do with it, took out the SPAX screws from the top plate, pounded from under it with a hammer and it came off pretty clean. Then fab'd up a box to see if there was some workable area, came up with this. 29x14x16, with a net volume including port of 2.28cuft, there will be 1 45 in the port corner and then .14cuft taken out for the sub itself, should land around 2cuft. Port is 2.25" wid…

Hey guys -- our Z v.2 line is now SOLD OUT. If you have a super emergency need for one I can dig up some used motors from our legendary "sea of woofers" in the top secret back room... but as for new that is it for them! People that have *already* ordered them or already asked me should be good but no new sales will be available unless a used motor will do. Z v.3 motors are coming in with the next container of SA woofers and SD-2 woofers in ~90 days... we will be doing final assembly here in Troutman, NC for at least several hundred units. I am pleased with the legacy of the Z v.2 line -- we actually sold more of these than the Nightshade v.1 line (seems like everyon…
