Hey jacob, i know several people on here are really looking foward to the 250.2 that will be released in near future, but whats the update on the amp and the stage it in before it hits production? I decided to move away from looking into the spl lanes and hit up the sq lanes because trunk cars are pretty hard to get loud and i think this amp will be perfect for powering two subs using an a/b class amp for possibly mounting 2 12's or so IB or possibly sealed. just looking for a few things like what time frame we're looking at for preorders and when it should all be available to public. So Yesterday I went to my authorized Sundown Dealor, and got the SAX-1200D. Today I had it installed on my BL. So whenever the gain is turned up past half way it blows all the fuses!! Has anyone had a suimilar problem.. I know sundown is good stuff, so I will be sticking with them, but I want to get full use out of this amp. so will be taking it back in the AM. but I love the sound that im getting thanks

Like the title says, my Nightshade v.2 12 D1 has showed up(fedex saturday delivery ftw). All I can say is wow, the wickedest sub I've ever seen! The comparison pics vs the SA-8 will show how big(61lbs to be exact) these subs really are. Hopefully the 1500d is up to the task, if not I guess Ill be upgrading my sundown arsenal somemore. Here are a few pics, I will post some initial install and testing impressions later.

i have 2 sa 12's the box is .75 mdf outside measured 40.75wX12tX20d. im looking for a tune of 35hz looking to do meca as well is been a while. where do tune need to be for headrest still tuned high or lower? whats the best way to change the port for competing? subs up port rear

Testing to see how well it keeps the coil temperature down by seeing how much power compression we get. Quoted from video : "Testing our new "woofer power test" rig... we have an adjustable voltage knob on the wall socket to get the power level we want. For the first 2 minutes or so we are trying to read on the "power" setting on the clamp but it didn't want to cooperate so I changed over to simply amperage and voltage afterward. At 2:20 we have 11.64A/61.6V for 717 watts... after a full 4 minutes and 45 seconds at 7:05we still have 11.19A so the sub is still seeing 689 watts. So we are seeing VERY little power compression even above rated power on a pure 60 Hz sine wave …

I like these subs and they were tough to beat for the price. (Light, Loud, Clean, Effecient) I didn't have ONE unhappy SD-1 customer. What was everyone's opinion on these subs? Look. An unofficial 130dB off a "100" watt amp. Enclosure by James Taylor.

Hello guys, i have a question about properly powering my saz 3000d. Right now i am running 3 group 34/78 yellowtops. One of them has a dead cell so i am going to remove all of them and redo my battery bank. Under hood battery is a redtop group 34. My total rms wattage is around 3600 watts including my mid amp. I've been searching google all morning looking for a straight-forward answer to this question. I havent found any real answers just mostly suggestions. this is a daily setup so reserve capacity is the key here. Well, I asked around over on CA, & EVERYONE told me that these beasts could handle it. (w/ proper electrical, of course) Planned elec. as of now: (2) D3100s in back, 240A alt, stock bat. up front, "Big 3", 1/0 all the way around. So what is your opinions on this? Can it handle it? Also, I read that the new SAZ-1500Ds don't carry .5Ω warranty coverage. What about the 3000Ds? And if the amp some how does fail do to this, what would it cost to get it repaired/replacement? Original thread is closed as ordering has been shut down. They will be leaving our factory March 8th - 13th and arrival time is 25 - 35 days... so we will be from 1st to 2nd week of April which is a bit behind schedule but not too bad. I've got a 98 explorer with a 130amp alternator, yellow top optima 55AH, upgraded big 3 (i think, got a question about that too in this post) with all 4 gauge, 1.5 farad Rockford cap w/ digi display, one Saz 1500d, and one jl 13w7 in a ported box built to the jl specs, wired in parallel so it's at 0.75ohm load. Looking at the owners manual for the 1500d it says 1500@1ohm, 800@2ohm, etc., so what would it be pushing at 0.75ohms? I have a 100amp ANL fuse between the battery and the cap. The owner of a local car audio shop told me that my amp wasn't pushing more than 1000 watts if i wasn't …

The 6.5" is NOT yet available... just testing the sample. Very smooth measured response on these... can cross as high as 4-5k for tweeters that don't like much mid-range output. Measured open baffle -- in a baffle low-end would increase on all of them but you can see the trend as the very deepest bottom end increases as you go up in size and the top-end increases as you go down in size.

well since some of the team member's have them what is the good word? what ohm you running? voltage? test's result's from amp swap's? any problem's? burp or roll? my first one should be here next week and I want to get ahead of the game.

Ok, got my 3000d today. Wired it to 1/2 ohm, and it just doesn't seem to be putting out power. i had the gain set at about 1/2 and it just seems like it's not puttin out the power. voltage read 14.53 and amp read exactly 0.5ohms. Also, when i turn it up to where i normally listen to it at the subs start cuttin in and out so i turned the gain down more and also turned the sub control down to like 5/15 and it still does it. Voltage barely drops, and it's really not loud AT ALL. what could be the problem?? Also, the amp never went in to protect or anything, i'm stumped...

The new Mega-Roll v.2 surround achieves ~5% variation over a span of ~60mm p-p stroke. That is a huge improvement over the already excellent compliance behavior of the Mega-Roll v.1 surrounds. iv'e been doing some reading and am thinking of buying a saz-3000d to run my Fi q series 15's in my system upgrade. my question is a ho alt a must or will i be able to get by on factory for a while ? i have been looking around for an ho alt for my car but it seems like it's going to be hard to find one. yes if u guys havent seen my van is done for the season because i cannot afford to keep buying a new windshield after i shatter it in 1 burp. i have decided to give the van away to a local shop to use as a marketing gimmic by shattering a windshield at every one of thier comps they hold. im contracted as team sundown this season and i have 3 practically brand new 3000ds that i have no use for now i didnt know if i am allowed to pass them on to other team members that want to buy a 3000d with the new heatsink design since they are on backorder right now. it sucks to have to get rid of a vehicle that wont let me do what i want because the windshield is the issue.…

Hooked up my 100.4 today to SEA excel mids and morel supremo tweeters. Gain was set at half, headunit (pioneer 9800) volume was 42/60, and 12 db slope, and it blew them in one minute. Now the speakers are rated at 220 watts. It is a 6 ohm speaker but i was told it would run just as good with this amp and actually be easier on the amp. I checked the speakers after they blew with others and and i still got power from the amp. Any ideas?
