Prototypes arrived today... working on doing full break-in to measure official specs. Honestly I am super happy with the prototypes -- I do plan to tool a magnet boot and put our logo on the cap but I don't think any other changes are needed at all. SD-2 12" Measured Mounting Depth = 5.25" SD-2 10" Measured Mounting Depth = 4.75" ----- Early price estimates -- MAP price (actual price paid from dealer) (SA cost for comparison) SA-10 v.1 : $185 SA-12 v.1 : $195 SD-2 10 : $150 SD-2 12 : $160 Pre-ordering would be something like : SD-2 10 : $115 SD-2 12 : $125 That would be shipped in the continental 48 states. Once I do some testing we'll have an ETA and a time when pre-orde…

I decided to make the switch to these from my Image Dynamics X69s. The X69s were awesome because they were a breeze to install. They did not come cheap though. My biggest gripe with them is that well they basically kept falling apart on me. I had the voice coil separate from the cone three times. Yes I was giving them way beyond the recommended power, but the coils still never even smelled, the speaker just came apart. I was able to sell the pair to cover the cost of these speakers and some luckily. First impressions unwrapping, the cone is not a beauty to look at lol. I wasn't expecting much, but next to the X69s the cone looks, well cheap. The basket and motor are a di…

SA-12 with D2 coils just sold out about 5 minutes ago. We still have SA-10 D2/D4, SA-12 D4, and SA-15 D2/D4 in stock. A container of all SA series 10,12,15 is due around June 20th. The SA-8s are not due until mid July.

by looking at your products alone you know your shit about subs. i have a pair of 10's i had built for me a couple years back 60lbs each so there is some serious magnets on them. the bl/re in series is only a 92 im guessing this is due to the coil. if i had it rebuilt to something with twice the motor strength what could i see in output diffrence? current coils are round copper 8layer not sure on what the rest of the specs are. i know they could use a spider spacer for more travel they will hit the top plate before the coil can bottom. is it possible the charge is weak on the magnets?

Im just trying to find out if i'm uninformed or really missing a part. I received my brand new SAX-200.4D on Friday, May 20. Super excited, I pulled it from the box and upon giving the amp a good looking over, I found it was missing the black plastic switch for the High/Full/Low pass crossover for channels 1&2. Its been awhile since i was involved in car audio, but dont we still need these switches? I already tried talking to the authorized internet dealer, but i was told to talk to the manufacturer. So quick to take your money, but so useless when it comes to help. im just worried i threw a bunch of money out the door. any help would be appreciated.

Shop will be partially closed next week. We will still respond to as many e-mails as possible and as many products as possible will go out. We will not be open for phone calls or be at 100% shipping / building capacity. Don't worry, though, after next week we'll be back to work and we'll have an extra worker at least for the summer ! Also -- bit of a hiccup this week. My accounting / book keeping computer went out over the weekend. I ordered a power supply for it next day air yesterday -- still waiting on it to arrive to start going through orders to enter and ship. Hoping it arrives before lunch so I can get some work done today!

I am working on a line for those with depth restrictions -- NOT a true shallow woofer but something that just isn't super deep as most of our drivers are big, nasty, deep woofers. The ultra-shallow market is not something we plan to get into but I thought something shallower than the SA line would be nice. Our future "E" series line with stamped frame was not designed as a reduced depth driver either so we would have left this market totally untouched. SD-2 10" -- 4 7/8" Depth SD-2 12" -- 5 3/8" Depth These will fit many under-seat truck enclosure applications. We had an SD-1 and SD-1 v.2 series some time back that were very popular in the truck market... so naturally the…

Am looking at the T/S parameters for the SA-12 and noticed that the D2’s RE is listed as 4.33 Ohms when tested in series. From what I’m used to seeing, the RE values are typically less than the advertised impedance rating so the 4.33 feels a bit high for a sub with dual 2 ohm coils. The D4's RE value of 7.09 is right in line with what I'd expect. Could someone please help me understand what’s going on here with the D2? Thanks!

So after getting a hold of a clean logo for sundown, I was working on some other things when I just got an inspiration to do something creative. So I spun up some BT laptop symphony and ripped this out. If anyone wants a high res version 1920x1080, just let me know. probably do some more later, just got lots of house work to do today and I am procrastinating! LOL

Anyone have the sundown logo in vector format, such as .eps or .ai? Would really like to cut my own decals in the color I use for my car and I could retrace it but that would take a bit of time

100-watts RMS 8s / $99 each from authorized dealer 200-watts RMS 10s / $115 each from authorized dealer Frequency range is ~80-5000 Hz on these -- the bottom end crossover point depends largely on how much power is ran to them. 8 ohm coils for large setups where you would be connecting 4 per channel to an SAX-125.2 or SAX-100.4 or 8 per channel on an SAX-200.4 These drivers are extremely light and relatively shallow so will fit in many locations easily and also will not weigh down doors with large quantities of drivers as bad as ferrite drivers. Standard Madisound grilles should fit them -- we will test it shortly.

So I am going the way of Sundown for a single 12 in my Honda Fit. However my skills as far as enclosure design for ported are poop. My maximum external dimensions are 38"Wx18"Dx21"H, I would like to keep the enclosure as small as possible on the Width side, my current dual 10 ported box is 27"W. I also would like to shoot for 2 cuft after displacement, tuned at 30-33Hz. I have all the tools/skills to build the box just lack the mathematical skills to actually calculate it up (yeah sad i know). Anyway if anyone would be kind enough to simply do me up a box and post a pic/diagram so I can have a cut sheet I would be very grateful. I should have a SA12 D4 in the next month …

Had to do some work on my system, my MDF speaker mounts had rotted away in my doors, so while I had the car apart replacing them, I decided to also install the SAX 1000D I had bought a year or so ago, and hadn't yet gotten around to putting in my system. This was to replace the Alpine MRV T-505 that I had been using as a sunb amp. Wow, the difference in bass output is amazing, this is almost too much bass. I don't want my car to sound like the typical boom thump that you'll hear in just about every town in America, but right now it does. Bass just completely overwhelms the satellites, even with my bass settings on the radio set at -6. I've got gain at about 60%, not su…

so my sa 8 stopped working last week when i pulled it out i thought it had burnt both positve and negitive leads. after i got back from a lil easter trip i was looking closer and it's only the negtive side and its up by the coil. then i found that the nut on the push terminal was backed almost all the way off. Is this something that would be under warranty or should i spend the shipping money on a recone. The sub is less than 3 wks old on a punch 6oo gain at 65% and i was still tring to break it in.

Some may recall the 2008 prototype "Monster" woofer that inspired features later found in several other drivers we make today. It's been shelved for some time... but a second revision of the prototype has been started on and we'll have some testing coming up. * Compounded smooth machining on the top plate with the NS v.2 style cross drilling. I am testing more with a top shorting ring on this design -- that is not necessarily something that will see production. * Again you see numerous smooth transitions on the back plate so we don't have excess steel where it's not needed (weight concerns). Also makes it look very interesting and unique. The goal is to replicate what I…
