Well, got to hear my first set of SD-1 10's yesterday. Let me be the 1st to say that when I initially saw them, I was a sceptic and was wondering what the hell Jacob was thinking. But, I still wanted to give them a listen and see what they're all about. To my surprise, I was shocked and amazed by those little subs. I expected them to sound good, but what I didn't expect was the amount of output that a pair of $100 10's on 300 watts would have. I was amazed. With no real tuning time, just sticking the woofers in the box, hooking them up to the rear channels of a 100.4, and letting them rip. Needless to say I was impressed. Impressed enough that I picked up a pair of…

So I am looking to pick up my first monster amp and I'm between these two, cause I'm afraid they are going to stop making them. I am aware of the fact that the ns1 has had some problems in the past (mechanically, and shipping related) and that the ns1 is more oriented towards competition use. The SAZ-5000 I haven't heard a whole lot positive or negative or any feedback really at all. Besides the input voltage differences that the ns1 has and it's power difference, what are some differences between the two.

  4. As much as I love the beast that is the 200.4 it's our lowest selling model. We are teaming up with WoofersEtc.com to get this closed out -- keep your eye on their site for them to be added at a special price. I am saving one for my personal car as it's an awesome amp -- so if you wanted one get in touch with WoofersEtc.com soon

Just showed up today. Need a bit of tweaking still (they don't have the stiffer surround on them yet, etc) but at least we have the first looks at them and our new terminal blocks too  * Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right. * Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right. * New terminal blocks ! * Z style spider -- these will feature one fewer layer than the Z models. Coil is also lighter on these but overall FS should be right at or slightly below the Z counterparts in stock format. * Essentially looks like a "mini-Z" style motor... 190mm magnet vs. 220mm on the Z series / 66mm tall stack vs. 75mm tall stack / thinner steel / less expensive round wir…

  7. Just got the new 1200d, setup with knukonceptz 4 gauge and my old 80 amp fuse from my alpine pdx 600 watt, and so far it sounds a lot more like 600 than 1200. Would I see a huge improvement if I upgraded to 1/0? The reason I ask is KnuKonceptz site says their 4 gauge handles 200 amps, and apparently the 1200 pulls only 150 amps. Either way, I'm definitely upgrading my fuse to 150 like it should be.

Thanks to the Sundown folks for answering all my stupid "rookie" install questions. This was my first install and I did everything but build the box. My emails were all answered within 20 minutes or less. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Those Nightshades are going to rip my little CRV apart. Here is the finished product. (Well almost. I haven't gotten the 100.4 hooked up yet)

Got it in today. I will be doing some testing over the next few days -- here is a comparison to the 1500D v.2 model -- the new v.3 is longer to fit all of the new parts and the fan but is narrower. The newer 2500D v.2 and 3500D v.2 will actually shrink in width AND length compared to the old units for reference. * The fan blows through the board to expel air out the sides of the amp. Will do a heck of a job in terms of cooling

Hey jacob. I recently built a box for my 2 sa8s. I was told it might be too big for the power im throwing at it.I built it with birtch, 2.25 cubes @ 30.2 hz. Im using 2 3inch 14 inches long. Im going to use my saz-3000d @ 2 ohm. I know i have to watch my gain. what would be the best box size for 30 hz for that power? Here is a pic of my work.

Jacob, I was wondering if you/Sundown ever considered making endcaps to go on the ends of their amps to cover all the wiring, knobs, inputs, etc... Also a space or cap two go between two amps to make it look like one continous amp would be sweet... So you would have Endcap|Amp|Endacp or Endcap|Amp|Spacercap|Amp|Endcap They look sweet the way they are, but I think this would really clean them up.... Thoughts?

Need some opinions! I am gonna be running a 3000d. I am gonna have good electrical. Should I stick with the 1ohm load and see what kind of power I can get out not dropping below 13 volts or since I have the electrical to back it up go with .5? What kinda power difference will I see?

  22. Ok, got my 3000d today. Wired it to 1/2 ohm, and it just doesn't seem to be putting out power. i had the gain set at about 1/2 and it just seems like it's not puttin out the power. voltage read 14.53 and amp read exactly 0.5ohms. Also, when i turn it up to where i normally listen to it at the subs start cuttin in and out so i turned the gain down more and also turned the sub control down to like 5/15 and it still does it. Voltage barely drops, and it's really not loud AT ALL. what could be the problem?? Also, the amp never went in to protect or anything, i'm stumped...

Hey guys! Well, I finally built a box on my own. it is not pretty, but then pretty doesn't always add db's. It is 4.13 cubes before displacement and 3. something after displacement. I still have a lot to do inside the box, but it did quite well without any improvements done to it yet. In initial testing, I was able to do 149.19db and at the show I did 149.2. I could probably do better with fully charged batteries. Not too bad for a small box. I have some pics. Tell me what you think.
