Sundown Audio

  1. Started by sundownz,

Just showed up today. Need a bit of tweaking still (they don't have the stiffer surround on them yet, etc) but at least we have the first looks at them and our new terminal blocks too  * Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right. * Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right. * New terminal blocks ! * Z style spider -- these will feature one fewer layer than the Z models. Coil is also lighter on these but overall FS should be right at or slightly below the Z counterparts in stock format. * Essentially looks like a "mini-Z" style motor... 190mm magnet vs. 220mm on the Z series / 66mm tall stack vs. 75mm tall stack / thinner steel / less expensive round wir…

Hi guys my name is Joey aka ronrico41I8. Wanted to go with the Sundown guys about this as I figure you'd have the best ideas considering familiarity with this product. Just purchased a SAZ-3000D that I plan on using w/Fi subs. I plan on purchasing a 100.4 and 100.2 in the near future. I would like to get away with using 4-6 batteries as my ride should be bagged in January and I need room for the air tank and enclosure. I would like a high voltage electrical sytem that can get me 5000 watts out of this baby. Is this possible? What is the highest voltage system I can use on a vehicle that is driven just several times a month. Whip is a 1988 Chevy S10 Blazer with V8 …

Got it in today. I will be doing some testing over the next few days -- here is a comparison to the 1500D v.2 model -- the new v.3 is longer to fit all of the new parts and the fan but is narrower. The newer 2500D v.2 and 3500D v.2 will actually shrink in width AND length compared to the old units for reference. * The fan blows through the board to expel air out the sides of the amp. Will do a heck of a job in terms of cooling

First of all I would like to thank Jacob for giving me the oppurtunity to buy his amp! installed The saz-1500 replaced my RFt10001bd, All I can say is wow! this amp had more balls, sounded better, and took less space! I am not the techie kind of guy but for a consumers point of view, the most important thing is that the product gave an improvement,it did not let you down, performed more than expected and most of all you know that you are backed by an excellent guy! The amp is driving 2 12" Oz MAtrix eLite head unit is a clarion hx-d2,seps are Legatia 631 and amp for the seps is an Audison Lrx 6.9. Jacob, I was wondering if you/Sundown ever considered making endcaps to go on the ends of their amps to cover all the wiring, knobs, inputs, etc... Also a space or cap two go between two amps to make it look like one continous amp would be sweet... So you would have Endcap|Amp|Endacp or Endcap|Amp|Spacercap|Amp|Endcap They look sweet the way they are, but I think this would really clean them up.... Thoughts?

Hey jacob. I recently built a box for my 2 sa8s. I was told it might be too big for the power im throwing at it.I built it with birtch, 2.25 cubes @ 30.2 hz. Im using 2 3inch 14 inches long. Im going to use my saz-3000d @ 2 ohm. I know i have to watch my gain. what would be the best box size for 30 hz for that power? Here is a pic of my work.

Was bored so I was designing a new amp rack and then shifted over to making the amp look realistic. NO it is not exact to measurements of the amp, and I don't think I have the patience for that, well I might. Anyway it's 80% done, I have 1 more logo to add to it, and finish the RCA side of the amplifier.

Well I was wondering if you got any huge vinyls? Or a file that I could bring to a shop and have them make me a big vinyl? Because as soon as I get the car, Im getting a good deal of vinyls of all my sponsors and supporters on there. Next year should be a big one. Ill have my system done for SBN for sure, and Im going to see if I can get a spot outside so I can demo it. If WF is anything like it was this year, Ill have a spot in the Expo center there too. Gotta let people know whats up! Thanks.

Hey all, getting ready to install a 3000 I picked up (will install in about a month) in my 07 f150. I have a yellowtop g34 up front, was planning on running 1 deka intimidator outback and upgrading the alt to a 200amp powermaster. Would this suffice for daily driving or should I look into a 2nd intimidator? Will never be played with the truck off. Reason I'm going with the intimidator and not the powermaster batts is I'm cheap and they look good for the money. Last, does powermaster have a dealer network, or if I'm lookin for an alt do I need to go directly to powermaster? thanks! -bud

  25. My buddy just Bought a pair of nightshades and noticed the z series have the same wattage but are cheaper so obviously the nightshades are better but in what way? SpL? Are the z series more for SQ? what's the difference physically about them? For everyday pounding and not competition, what would you recommend? Thanks. Marcus G
