Well after a long time looking/comparing I finally ditched my crossfire vr4000d and bought a Sundown Audio saz-3500d . I needed something that I could run my Tc sounds axis subs that have the RETARDED quad 1.2ohm coils (instead of 1ohm coils) and after reading alot of posts of people running the 3500s below 1ohm and with little to know complaints I had to have one. I hooked it up yesterday to just 1 sub and WOW it was impressive now I just have to build a box for the pair and make a couple of videos. This Is going in my 09 Ford Escape XLT with Alpine cda-9887, 2 optima red tops up front and a Kinetik hc2400 in the back a stinger voltmeter with all 1/0 wire through out. …

Vehicle is a 99 Suburban w/no 3rd row. List of current equipment: Singer 275a alt, 4/0 power/ground, XS D3400 front, 6 Deka Intimidators rear. I'm considering changing my current setup already & going with the 6-E12's on a SAZ-3500. Curious how many people,if any, have experience using them in multiples. I have about 30cu ft net roughly before sub, bracing, & port displacement. Any suggestions or input are welcomed. I'm changing my current subs/amp setup to show what entry level subs can do.

Hello everyone. Anyways my stupid question is does jacob send tracking info when shipping an item? If so I suppose my amp hasn't shipped yet. Just curious though. I searched for my old email from when I ordered my 1500d but didn't see it. Also since I made a thread I suppose I'll do a mini build of installing the amp (125.2) on my components. I know everyone likes pics One more thing. It appears the led on my remote gain on my saz-1500 died, is that common or what? Not too concerned since it's just an led but I'd thought i would ask. Going to test the led to confirm later. Anyways thanks everyone and keep up the good work Jacob!

Since we tore up the Nightshade proto I decided to have some fun showing off how strong the cone is. I cut the surround off so it would sit flat on the ground and had Justin (local sales rep) stand on the back of the voice coil: Just sits at around 350 pounds Neither the cone or the triple joint glue failed and he bounced up and down a bit while he was on there.

Sundownz,.....have you ever thought about manufacturing some batteries like DC Sound Labs, Cactus Sounds etc.? I thought this would be a nice addition later on down the road for expansion to the company.

I have a Saz1500v.2 that I bought here off SSA less than a year ago. Well last night I noticed my sub just quit playing. After looking at it the red "protection" light is on and it just stays that way. Weird thing is I was actually listening to music on a normal mid level, gain remote knob all the way down and purposely trying to not really hear the sub because I was listening to a rock song trying to adjust my mids. Then when I went to add the sub back in it just wasnt there. I thought the knob was broke but I guess not. Amp was cold to the touch when it stopped working. What can I do from here. Thanks

Tooling is finally done ! * Logo embossed in the ring. The frames will have the drilled holes sealed up and all the under frame air flow will go through this ring -- brings it in right at the coil. These will show up in production toward the end of the year.

Looking into something that I'd be proud to put the "Sundown Audio" name on... and I think I may be on to it. I've been speaking to an engineer about doing a bigger power amplifier the way I think it should be done. How does 4000 watts @ 1 ohm @ 0.01% THD anywhere from 12v to 16v sound ? At a soft clip (eg: burp) up to 6500 watts at anywhere from 12v to 16v. MSRP would be around $1999 to $2199 or so for this bad boy. Would be about 33.5" long give or take... and accept dual 1/0 inputs. I may be testing a prototype by the end of the year. Don't ask about the ETA for production - it's a big project requiring a large investment so it's hard to say.

Did some SPL testing in the Jeep with the 18" version of the "Magic Box" this morning -- it is slightly less efficient than the 15" version but still does well. I am pleased with the results -- will continue to push for more score as time permits :

What does the saz-3000 bass knob control and how does it control it? Is it gain or boost? does it override the amps settings or does it max out at them? BTW great amp, My car on score is only .6 db louder compared to the car off!!! I was amazed by this, helps alot for db drag

I currently have a pair of SQ XBL^2 10s in 2.4 ft^3 tuned to 32hz. They're being fed right around 500w a piece. They sound great and have decent output but I find myself wanting a bit more. I have experience with mostly SQ subs (IDQ, AA Avalanche, TC2, etc)... how would the SA-10s compare? They'd be used in the same box, with the same power.

Alright, not sure if jacob remembers but I bought a used 1500D off a guy named Rob E and it started blowing fuses everytime the amp would turn on...........and now, surprisingly im having the same problem. So anyway when I sent the 1st one in, I got a brand new unit back just hoping I can still send it in for repairs in a couple weeks as I dont have much extra cash for shipping at the moment. just to clear things up......amp was being ran at 2ohms to 2 old type r 12's sealed with 4 awg wire.....all connections were solid includ…

Just installed my Sundown SAZ 1000D in my Camaro. As soon as I fired it up, the protection LED lit (I thought it was the power LED at first) I unhooked the output speaker wires and reset the amp (disconnected power & ground) and tried again. Still had protection LED. I then unplugged the INPUT signals, reset the amp, and this time got the power light (woohoo!). As soon as I attempted to plug in a INPUT line, the protection LED would light up. So it's the input causing the trouble, not the output. I'm using a wiring harness from Sub Thump, maybe it's bad. I checked the wires from the harness against the wiring diagram for the car and everything seemed ok. May…

ok i have 2 nightshade V2 D1s and as far as i can remember my coils always sat at pretty much even 1 with a variance of .1 or so ... so in series they would be at 2 ohms per sub... then of course paralleled to 1 ohm at the amp ... well today i was out testing some new songs.. and my subs never get hot .. but today i heated them.. and when i was done playing i checked my temperature of the dust caps and they were both pretty hot.. 1 being hotter then the other... no problem the shades are beast they can take a little heat... so after that i went to the store, then on the way home i played my stereo again .. but it was not as loud... first thought shit.. i burned …
