well went to a show today, and somehow only managed a 145.3 @ 36hz with the equipment in sig. I'm thinking it's in the enclosure. Can someone throw me some dimensions for an optimal box for these? I have plenty of room to work with so thats not an issue. I've seen posts where people are doin a 150+ with these subs and less power and still listening to it daily so i now a big number is in them, just need a different box.

I just recently bought new speakers and hooked them up to my 100.2. The first week everything went fine until about a day ago I get a random noises coming out of my speakers. With the sound completely down on the HU and even a different mode with no audio source selected I get this high pitched whine or sometimes clicking coming from my speakers. Once I hear it I shut it off immediately. I checked the ground, remote, and power wire and they are all hooked up and connected fine. All the speaker wire seems to be intact at the back by the amp and upfront by the actual speakers, but I haven't checked underneath the carpet yet. If I turn the volume up on the HU the music…

I am replacing a 1000D with the SAZ-1500D. I already have 4 gauge power and ground run to the trunk. Will I experience significant loss by using 4 gauge? I will be running the amp at 1ohm. 4 gauge ground is about 24" long going into a ground distro block with 0 gauge grounded from the block to the chassis about 12" away. Existing 4 gauge power is about 3 feet from a distro block that has 0 gauge coming to it from the battery. I have done the big 3 with 0 gauge. Have a 200A alt as well. Lastly, will a 150A fuse be enough for the 1500D? Thanks all.

Purchased two D2 SA-12's about 6 months ago or so. The guy I bought them from bought them in Jan or Feb this year (2010) and they were re-coned with aluminum coils. I've just recently got a new amp and had everything completed then one crapped out on me. One coil is reading 2ohms, the other is around 2.8 and fluctuates. I'm just really disappointed this happen as I never put too much power them then, could it just be a result of a bad recone in the past? I'd like to get this back up and running asap. Thanks for any info

I rewired my sub from 1ohm to 4ohm & was wondering do I need to reset my gains or redo the wiring config. from my amp to my sub ? My set-up is in my sig. line if that helps. It sounds the same but maybe not as punchy as before & it has a little less volume in the substage. I can hear my front stage alot better now also. Also I messed up & stripped out one of my screw mounting holes in my enclosure. Is there an easy fix or should I just go ahead & get a nut & bolt for it? Thanks, Chris.

I'm just curious. I know personally Hifonics takes up ALOT of power. But do Sundown amps do? Lets say i wanted one 15 inch sundown nightshade and power it with a saz 1500. if i were to power it with a hifonics brutus 1400 < i know that id need a cap or second battery or both and alt upgrade but i just want to know in general do sundown amps take alot of power? just for personal preferences i have a 03 nissan maxima and will be replacing battery and buying a second one. but i wouldnt want an amp that takes alot juice. i know, amps should because they are producing so much power but i know personally hifonics takes up alot of juice, i had to go through 2 batteries in …

Do you need to have all 4 channels for the 100.4 when bridged? reason i ask is I'm using it as 320 x 2 at 4 ohms for subs which i only have 2 channels of RCAs and I don't want to have to buy Y splitters if I don't have to. If so would you use channels 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 or what? thanks guys. -Trevor

I have a box on the way from Dave The Box Guy with interchangeable ports and what not and would like to use it for a long time without modifying the sub cut out holes. It is going to be for 2 SA-12s that I have laying around. I was just curoius to see what the cut out diameters were for the Zv4 or X series because I will eventually upgrade to one of them. Thanks everyone. Sorry if the answer is somewhere else, I have looked and looked but haven't found it yet.

yes if u guys havent seen my van is done for the season because i cannot afford to keep buying a new windshield after i shatter it in 1 burp. i have decided to give the van away to a local shop to use as a marketing gimmic by shattering a windshield at every one of thier comps they hold. im contracted as team sundown this season and i have 3 practically brand new 3000ds that i have no use for now i didnt know if i am allowed to pass them on to other team members that want to buy a 3000d with the new heatsink design since they are on backorder right now. it sucks to have to get rid of a vehicle that wont let me do what i want because the windshield is the issue.…

Hi, I recently decided to upgrade my Type-R subs to 2 Sundown SA-12's (4 Ohm) for my SAZ-1500D amp and want to set them up as 1 Ohm and I have followed the diagram on the12-volt which is this: but my sub box has 2 wire terminals for each sub so what I did was for each sub - to - and + to + with the one + wire from the top coil and the - from bottom coil to the terminal and from the terminals to the amp to their -/+ and set jumpers on the amp as + to + and - to -, this should be ok right? I had the Type-R's is the same fashion which worked fine but the SA-12's aren't pushing which is making me think I might have done something wrong in the wiring so if someone can please…

Specs are per 8 subs 1/2 of the box, I used bb6 to calculate a box prism w/ a truncated edge, and basically doubled it and put both sides on top one another. Fb is actually the f3 on the picture, and the calculated fb for three 34" long 2"x10.58" ports @ 2.392 cubes is 45.26, but I did not take into account the flared aspect of the alligator mouth style of this box, but added it's length to the port length...so it kinda is a mystery.

Since my van is known as just a burp vehicle, and I really have been wanting to see what it would in Drive By. For those that don't compete in MECA Drive By is measured with the sensor 54" off the ground and 6 feet away from the passenger door, 30 sec, average no test tones. Mids and highs must be heard. So.... who wants some result?

too start off I'm not bashing any products this was just a direct swap. we started out with this box on a 40.1 @.5 did a 154.9 then we dropped this in and only came up with this voltage drop was from 15.2 on the volt meter down to 13.4 on the 40.1 and from 15.2 down to 12.3 on the 4500 there was a nsb90 under the hood with 6 runs of wire to the back batteries they are 110lb data safes. the 40.1 was giving some crappy wave's on the TL and the sundown hard perfect wave's on every test we are going to do the 4500 on 16 volts next and see what it will do then here is a pic of the wave with the 40.1

Hey, just wanted Team Sundown to know that The crowd at the XSPL Show with Drop Jaw Magazine in Kinston N.C. was off the hook! There were so many women, ooops I mean people that it really made it for a great time! I gave so many demos, I thought I was DJ just for a minute. I took home a 2nd place trophy for sealed on the dash or kick (160.1) and a 2nd place for Hardcore in the port (167.3) on the AC Meter. I also set new records for SUV 2000+ watts (sealed up and hardcore). Jacob, the new subs are louder! If I could ever figure out that Maxxlink.....
