Just curious what you would consider your SQ sub, they all look nice but seem to be more daily beater oriented and slightly less SQ oriented, maybe 60-40 that way. Also, do you have any plans for an SQ reference sub?

I have to choose between the SAZ-1500d or a Audiopipe AP30001D. I know the build quality is better on the SAZ, but I believe I will get more output from the AP. My electrical is a stock 140 amp alternator in a dodge magnum and a extra battery (NSB90). I need to power a pair of Fi Q15's. Being unbiased, which amp would better suit my setup? I wanted to give the subs 1k watts each... I was used to 150+ because I was running 4 Q15's on an IA40.1, but now I am just going to run two, but want to lose as little output as possible. Oh yeah, the Q's are both dual 1 ohm w/ no extras. Thanks for your assistance.

I have only had stock car audio so far in my cars and they always state their wattage here and there but, i am curious, what is 100 watts a channel really like. Im going to be buying speakers with a 90db sens and rated about 150 watts max around 70 or so rms, and well, what is it really like compared to a good stock system. Home audio wise, 100 watts is enough to really push high quality towers with beautiful sound, but then again, they are in enclosures which really compliment them. Car audio, a bit different. Now ontop of that, what is 50 watts rms like. My gf has a caliber and just has coaxials right now, she can appreciate better sound but itsd not really her thi…

OK I just got my amp from DB-R today. All I have to say is that this thing is beautiful but frightening. Still waiting on my Fi 15" BLs. This is my first upper class amp. So all of you well experienced bass heads what should I expect out this amp?

Due to shipping delays the Z v.2 ETA is being pushed back to January 2010. I was hoping to start shipping them before the end of the year but that will not happen. There will not be a pre-sale but I will offer introductory pricing on them when all my parts are in.

I decided to go through our fabled "sea of woofers" and try to get some of this stuff sold... we hired a new guy, Pedro (my cousin), and he organized it a bit to make even thinking about selling it manageable. First... the fabled sea in a somewhat organized form... I cannot get it all in one photo but you get the idea : It goes farther left and right. On the the yard sale! I am not interested in re-building ANY of these items before shipping them out due to time contstraints -- refer to a service like FixMySpeakeror your favorite custom builder for that -- I can ship directly to either if you like. * TRF Motor and Basket - $350 shipped in continental 48 states * MIN…

I came in yesterday and built this bad boy... a customer had ONE unit on order for a bit and I got a pair of the Aluminum sleeves as samples so I am building this one and one other one this week (both with fat 8-layer coils and are single sub orders). These also don't call for any Gap ID sleeves as they use the fat coil -- so I have enough parts to make them  ----- * Collecting the parts up. * You can see the black coated aluminum pole sleeve in place on the pole but not Gap ID sleeve -- so the overall gap is still pretty massive. The "fat" coil fills it up nicely, though. * Starting the rear glue joint * Rear glue joint completed * Prototype "XL…

So Derrick came up today and constructed a box for me for my four SA-8s... still two 1500Ds on one Stinger SPP-1500D and one Stinger SPV-70 battery on Powermaster Charger (car off). We built the box from scrap 5-layer pine plywood for testing... we plan to use birch ply for another version at a later date. Results here :

SAE-1200D sale pricing for $350 is back again until the end of March. These amps are starting to gain in popularity and we really want to see some more customers post up reviews on them, so we are bringing the sale price back. You can contact your favorite dealer OR Paypal us directly at [email protected] to order! These are under-rated amps and can produce 1500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm --- The SAE-1200D is the first in the new generation of "SAE" line amplifiers from Sundown Audio designed to offer the best value possible. The SAE-1200D is designed to produce it's full 1200 watts of rated output at 12.8 volts! As with our SAZ line sound quality was just as much con…

The 6.5" is NOT yet available... just testing the sample. Very smooth measured response on these... can cross as high as 4-5k for tweeters that don't like much mid-range output. Measured open baffle -- in a baffle low-end would increase on all of them but you can see the trend as the very deepest bottom end increases as you go up in size and the top-end increases as you go down in size.

More power this time... current clamp shows ONE coil. We hooked each coil up to a seperate 120v circuit for a total power of ~8800 watts at the start, dropped to the 7000s then stayed around that point until failure at 30 seconds. Prior to this video we had JUST finished plugging it in to one socket in series for around 2000 watts for FIVE MINUTES - so it was already hot! The Monster lives up to it's name. If you are wondering about the frame... Brandon had two in his wall without motor supports and it broke off some of the screws allowing the bottom to swing out and break off the top of the frame. So... motor supports are a must.

Was hoping I could use the stock frame and I was able to do so! Just had to adapt it a bit... one of our spider bolt down rings worked perfectly for the job. This woofer has 3 Hard Nightshade spiders, a Z v.2 prototype D2 coil (tight gap so NS coil would not fit), and a light weight cone similar to the Z v.1 but with a wide roll surround. Once the dust cap glue dries I'll measure specs on it to see what we got * Steel spider ring glued into place (glue under, around, and below the ring) * Overview of the ring -- also changed original basket screws to a higher grade metal with allen heads. * Gluing bottom triple joint * Lining it up and getting ready to solder the lea…

Hey you guys are really imformative on these forums. So recently I installed my new system that consisted of a Fi BTl 18, SAZ 3000d, HO alternator(220amp), Kinetik 2400 in back, all 0gauge wires, big three all in a Nissan Pathfinder. And recently I would be listening to music and then the subwoofer would cut out and there would be no output. I inspected the sub and it looked fine. I switched the sub with a JL and it did the same thing. Played then cut out. I checked rcas, ground and also checked to see if the speaker wires r hooked up right. I switched out the 3000d with a Alpine amp and it worked fine. If you guys got any input or advice i should try please let me…
