I am leaving January 4th and returning the 12th -- so will be back to work on the 13th or so. While I am gone some orders that can simply be boxed and shipped will be completed -- customized items, re-cones, etc will wait until I get back. Some staff will be here but operation will be at limited capacity.

I have teamed up with Mike once again; this time to clear out QC failed SA-8s at a discount. We have worked with Mike before on E8s that failed QC so I am sharing this offer with my forums. They are all new drivers that didn't pass on our bench test; which is performed on all speakers and amps that ship from Sundown. Mike is re-building them with our latest updated soft parts. Note : These do not carry warranty from Sundown Audio. We are not re-building this in house; the work is done by Mike so they must be ordered from him and not us. --- I will be selling Sundown’s inventory of SA-8s that have failed quality control testing. Each of these woofers were tested by Jaco…

I got in my truck this morning and started it up then turned on my stereo. I heard a small pop and noticed my front speakers were not working. I started investigating and discovered the 3 fuses on my 100.2 had all blown. I went to put in new ones and they blew right away and then smoke came from the amplifier. I have gone over all my power and ground wiring and cannot find any shorts. I have a sundown 1200d running off the exact same power and ground thru distribution blocks. That amp continues to play my subs and the fuses are all fine. I opened up the 100.2 and saw a burned part. I guess it's one of the fets along the side. Is this an amp problem or is it something els…

I was driving home from my girls house listening to some of decafs songs I just downloaded and all a sudden my slave amp turned off, I reset my head unit seeing if it was some freak accident and it'd turn back on, but it didn't, so I continued driving home with my head unit off, with it being so late I didn't have the energy to do a lot of trouble shooting. Both amps are grounded in the same spot and share the same remote wire. I checked both 300 amp fuses and they didn't look blown, the remote wire didn't come loose and fall out. What do I need to do to fix this problem? Thanks, Dom

Ok, just bought a new car and my ported box does not fit. So I need to make a new one. I have a 2008 Civic SI coupe. What I am wondering is speaker/port placement. I am use to SUV's and sub up / port back. I have read with a trunk that sub back / port back is the way to go. Just asking to make sure before I buy the material and build this box. Also, I see that SA 12's are 1.5 to 2.0 for ported boxes. With 1.75 being on there spec sheet. I have 1250 watts to push 2 12's and was wondering. Would it be better to go 1.5 / 1.75 / or 2? And what hz would you recommend? Currently the box I have is 3.5 @ 32hz and sounds ok with JL 12w3's in it. I am playing 70% rap/bass cd…

Purchased two D2 SA-12's about 6 months ago or so. The guy I bought them from bought them in Jan or Feb this year (2010) and they were re-coned with aluminum coils. I've just recently got a new amp and had everything completed then one crapped out on me. One coil is reading 2ohms, the other is around 2.8 and fluctuates. I'm just really disappointed this happen as I never put too much power them then, could it just be a result of a bad recone in the past? I'd like to get this back up and running asap. Thanks for any info

Since the new SAZ-1500d v2 does not have any fuses inside or outside of the amplifier, what is the suggested size for the in line fuse?

I just recieved (1) 1500d v.1 and (1) 1500d v.2 last night. Looking at each of them they look exactly the same and I can not tell which is which. How can I tell? and can the two be strapped together? If not I still have another v.1 so no worries.

I'm going to be powering 2ea Fully Loaded 4" Voice Coil FI Audio BL15's (1,500rms ea) and I currently have a Rockford Fosgate Power 2500bd-1 Amp but i'm curious how the Sundown SAZ-2500, SAZ-3500 and the SAZ-4500 Compare to the Power 2500. I have 2 power 2500's right now still in the box which box say over 3,100 watts ea at 1ohm. The biggest reason I ask about the comparison is the cost of the SAZ-4500 is the same cost at the Power 2500. Is there just too much brand name mark up in the Power 2500 or is it a solid amp for the money? My Power 2500 Birth Sheets say...

Hey guys, I bought some E8s a long time ago and haven't had time to install them in a vehicle yet. I'm looking to build a ported box for two of them and was using a calculator online to help me figure out how big to make the port. The box is for two E8s (they displace .03 ft3 each right?) and I'm trying to build it so each sub gets .6 ft3 of airspace and the port is tuned to 30 hz (like the sundown website recommends). I can get the internal dimensions right at 1.2 ft3 (a little more actually to accommodate the displacement of the sub) but the port is only a 2"x2" square 8" long. Does that seem right? Could I make it 1"x4" rectangle or even .5"x8"? Or would that caus…

Promised I would show some pictures... we got some of our SA shipment yesterday (8s, 10s, 12s, E8s) and it showed up in a nice container with no pallets. So we had alot of fun unloading * First thing we saw - exciting, right ? * Does it end ?! * My view from inside... I was in the container the whole time tossing boxes to the other guys * Expanding dramatically when it came out of the container *laughs* Had to stand back this far to get them all in the picture. We shipped all the E8 v.2 pre-orders today and SA-15 pre-orders will start going out on Monday. DO NOT e-mail me asking when your specific SA-15 order will go out -- the answer is as soon as we possibly can sh…

got a couple NSv2 15" d1's, built the box and would like some input on amp selection (Sundown as im a new dealer). We running Street Beat 4 (unlimited alt, bat, amp... across the board). Box is 3ft^3 per sub and tuned to about 55hz, (subs and amp on same plane) bed cut into a single cab silverado. My question is i guess is what can i put to these things (within reason), money not being an option, 2500 per coil?? 4500 on each one??? if we use 45's should we dual alt? goal is 156db, which sould be easily obtainable, imo might get close to 160 with the luck we've had lately (outlaw rules, i can post legal #'s too)

We are operating on an e-mail, phone, orders, and everything delay right now... currently installing new phone system, new computers, network devices, etc... so slowing down anything computer related. Also have several big shipments coming in starting today and for the next week... then pre-order shipping will commence. This will take up ALOT of time. So please be patient during this time as we will be *extremely* busy.

Well, my friend said he wants more boom for his stock ass Mini. Man the thing has a horrid stock stereo, and it's too complicated to get an aftermarket stereo. He wanted an 8" sub, or a 10", so I showed him the SA-8. Should I build a box with .65cuft after dicplacement at 32hz? He listens to variety of different genres. I plan on running an in-line-converter to the amp later on. Thanks!

Since db-r does not have their forum here I figured I would post this in the Sundown forum. Feel free to move it if you like. I was looking for a 3000 watt amp and checked the db-r web sight and saw they were having a sale on their referb amps. I had some questions and emailed Chris those questions. He responed quickly and assured me I was not only getting an excellent amp, but was getting the customer service got go with it if I were to have any issues in the future. I just ordered it a couple hours ago and look foward to its arrival. Thus far I am very happy with the service I received from Chris at db-r today. I will update upon it's arrival and install.
