ok, so i read the specs for the 1000d, and it says battery wire terminal, 0 guage, so i go on ebay and buy a 0 gauge amp kit. and then when i go to hook up my amp, the zero gauge wire is 1/3 to big, and i thought rockford fostage would be more accurate, maybe it was that , or maybe sundown made a mistake on my amp or somthing, i heard it was ok to take off wire to make it smaller, as long as you clean it up nice, and then electrical tape it, so that is how it stands now. my box isnt here yet. so i havnt ran it yet. all sugjestions are apreciated so much, this is my dream system and i dont want to fuk it up by jerry rigging it like that or somthing. thanks guys. kevin

My SAZ-1500D's have been just sitting waiting for my subs to come so I haven't really looked them over but I installed my SAX-100.2 today for some temporary bass. I noticed you used screw terminals. Any reason for this? Any hookup where I could get allen terminals? Screw terminals just seem cheap to me and nice allen ones look clean. Nitpicking.

Just had two questions. (1) Can a pair of SAZ-1500d be strapped together at 0.5 ohm? And (2) would a 200 or 300amp ALT, red top up front, and a pair of Kinetik HC2000s be enough current to power them correctly? Thanks in advance.

I hope this forum is ok for me to post a question here. I am thinking of buying a 10" subwoofer and am looking for SQ. Can anyone suggest a Sundown Audio subwoofer I should buy. I have 2 E- series in a big ported box with 2 12's and and love them with spl, but want to do a SQ setup for a different vehicle. If possible I would like the single sub would be under $200. I also will want it to be sealed. I'm also not wanting to use more then 600 watts. I just want the sound to fill the vehicle. I don't need to be heard blocks away. Thanks for your time.

Since we have been out so long I decided to open pre-ordering for the month of June -- they are due in July with the specific ETA still being up in the air. I will post when I get a better date within July. I will run this for the month of June and maybe a little bit into July depending on the specific date of arrival. This run features all the updates so far on the 8s AND the new style frame: This frame has superior clearances and is actually a bit easier to get in the hole with large speaker wires. A win-win all in all The magnet boot IS still included -- the frame pic is just a bit older. ----- PRICING : 1x SA-8 = $119 2x SA-8 = $109 each 4x or more SA-8 = $99 each …

Im getting mixed info like crazy on this one...mainly concerned with keeping voltage drop to a minimum. I've read, more wire, the better..then i've read there was no difference i.e. Sean replaced his 10 y/o 0ga with brand new 2 runs of 0 and he gained nothing... Here's my electrical before you guys ask for it....DB electrical 250a alt and plan on running a XS Power D3100 in the back.

Got a pair built to ship to a customer... Customized with double leads, 3 spiders, and a Nightshade cone. Specs as follows with a few minutes break-in : RE: 1.84 ohms FS: 37.87 Hz Qes: 0.531 Qms: 7.56 Qts: 0.496 Le: 1.30 mH Vas: 45.9 L BL: 16.73 NA Cms: 52.21 uM/N Mms: 338 grams Sens: 88.56 1w/1m NS cone + Double leads add about 80 grams MMS compared to the Z v.2 cone with single leads. The added mass got the Fs down and Qts up a bit -- which will be quite suitable for the 4th order band-pass the customer wants to use.

Went out to another TBP event out in Longview today with the car in 85 degree weather.. 1st run was 151.3 2nd run was 151.2 3rd run was 151.3 all with the mic in the passenger kick. I also tryed port wars, and I've never done it before, but I managed a 165.9 in port wars. Apparently thats pretty high for 1 sub to...go figure ... These amps are astonishing everyone. They are performing flawlessly and everyone wants to know where to get them..I need some brochures Jake...and I need to step up to a pair of 3000D's....hook me up.. I acquired a 18" RE SX today, and I'm planning on building a wall with this woofer, with the trunk as my Infinite Baffle and tearing some stuf…

So guys i am new to sundown audio. A friend told me about the SA-8 so i thought i would give them a try. I just ordered 2 dual 4 ohm for a 1 ohm load on my hifonics brutus 1200.1. But any ways long story short i had a cool box design i wanted to try but not to sure on how to calc. the box volume and needed port length for a 35hz tune. So i put together a little paint shop quick drawing to get some input. Plz no bad comments about the drawing i know its crap but its just an idea of what i am looking for.

I convinced my son's friend into ordering a SA 12 However he wants to put it into his existing sealed box that is ~1.65 ft^3. I know the recommended sealed size is 1 ft^3. What effect will this have? Any less power handling, less sound quality (yes he was looking for sound quality:-), etc. Thanks for your help.

Got my first prototypes in for the v.3 revision of the SA-8 -- it took quite a bit of consideration to figure out how to make some improvements to the design but I think we are on the right track : * Newly tooled surround with an improved shape / slightly bigger overall size... this is a new shape I have been testing with for a while that is a bit more linear than the old shape. It allows a small but noticeable amount of extra throw. * We removed the vent ring to reduce the total depth by 10mm -- since this reduces the cooling capability a bit we added gap vents (next photo). I did use appropriately sized drilled vent holes to maintain a degree of pressure in the un…
