Well, I finally got around to getting some meter time since there is a local USACi show approaching next weekend. I had never gotten around to testing the new Nightshade v.2's ever since I bought them....I just pulled the Z's out the box and put the Shades in. Before, with the Z's, my best was a 154.9 at 47 Hz I did back in July at Scrapin' the Coast. I've had one show since then and pulled a 154.7 with the Nightshades at the same frequency with a bad windshield. Yesterday after sweeping, I was expecting to see a pretty similar peak frequency when the Z's were in there (approx. 47 Hz)......not the case. I was VERY surprised to see that my new peak is now at 34 Hz! This i…

I have four subs that the speaker leads burned through. What would cause this? Same amp ran all subs. They died at same time. Would amp putting out DC do this? Coils are fine. I am stumped.

So I got my 2500D, and I just realized that it doesn't have an internal fuse. So what to do? Fuse the + lead about a foot from the amp? Why doesn't it have a built in fuse anyway? Just wondering.

My SAZ-1500D's have been just sitting waiting for my subs to come so I haven't really looked them over but I installed my SAX-100.2 today for some temporary bass. I noticed you used screw terminals. Any reason for this? Any hookup where I could get allen terminals? Screw terminals just seem cheap to me and nice allen ones look clean. Nitpicking.

ok, so i read the specs for the 1000d, and it says battery wire terminal, 0 guage, so i go on ebay and buy a 0 gauge amp kit. and then when i go to hook up my amp, the zero gauge wire is 1/3 to big, and i thought rockford fostage would be more accurate, maybe it was that , or maybe sundown made a mistake on my amp or somthing, i heard it was ok to take off wire to make it smaller, as long as you clean it up nice, and then electrical tape it, so that is how it stands now. my box isnt here yet. so i havnt ran it yet. all sugjestions are apreciated so much, this is my dream system and i dont want to fuk it up by jerry rigging it like that or somthing. thanks guys. kevin

I have a 2012 Silverado Crew Cab, with limited space under the seat, and don't want to raise the seat. I found a pre-made box that basically represents how much space I have to work with, and it just so happens to have measurements with it. 51" wide, 17 3/4" deep, 9 1/8" high in front, 5 1/8" high in back. http://www.audioenhancers.com/vehiclespecific/crew180.php I also saw this box, and got an idea. http://subthump.com/Chevrolet-GMC-Sub-Boxes/Silverado-Sierra-Crew-Cab/07-Up-New-Body-Style-GM-Crew-Cab-Quad-8-Front-Fire-Box.html If I took the measurements of the first box and built a box for two forward firing SA8 V2's using 3/4" MDF, is there an aeroport configuration por…

I'm currently doing up my electrical system to support my SAZ-3000D. I currently have a "200" amp alternator (E-bay special) and I'm looking into doing a 6 battery bank but I have never gone to this extreme, so I was wanting any advice as to wire or to run this type of set up. just to ensure proper charging and what not. Any advice in this field would be very very appericated. To those who are wondering why 6 batts for 1 amp, I'm planning on getting another 3000 as soon as budget allows.

My current set up is (1) 15" nightshade off a 3000d @ 1 ohm. So 3000 watts daily. I know it handles the power easily, but with the warmer weather comin I am afraid I am going to hurt it because I like to ride windows down music up. Should I get the (2) 12"s or do you think I'm good with my current set up?Obviously (2) 12" subs would be more cone area than (1) 15" sub, so that alone would get me louder. I am mainly concerned about running 3000 watts to this sub to much and frying it!!

im new to this forum but not new to car audio. ive done many installs in many types of cars trucks and suvs. i have installed sundown some times before and now im deciding on buying a pair of sa-8s. i drive a 95 dodge ram 1500 single cab that i just bought. currently i have 2 jbl p1224 12s in a downfiring box center console build in a 3.96 cubed box after compensation tuned to about 37 htz on 1200 watts rms at 1 ohm on a hifonics brutus amp. ive heard sundown sa 12s sound incredibly good and i just want to make sure im not going to lose any output by running two of these 8s from my two 12s that mount at 14 and 5/8s and weigh 33 lbs a peice. i guess i just want some clarit…

I hope this forum is ok for me to post a question here. I am thinking of buying a 10" subwoofer and am looking for SQ. Can anyone suggest a Sundown Audio subwoofer I should buy. I have 2 E- series in a big ported box with 2 12's and and love them with spl, but want to do a SQ setup for a different vehicle. If possible I would like the single sub would be under $200. I also will want it to be sealed. I'm also not wanting to use more then 600 watts. I just want the sound to fill the vehicle. I don't need to be heard blocks away. Thanks for your time.

hey quick question can you run the 3000ds daily on a 16-18 volt system. i think jacob 4 3500ds on six 16 volts right, do u think that many batteries would be necessary with just the two 3000ds. also I can turn my voltage up to charge such a system.I see that the 4 channel that sundown makes only runs up to 16 volts will it hurt it at like 16.5 17.5. I figured it would just be cheaper to sell my yellow tops and switch to 16-18 volts and get more power from what I have. but I would also need a four channel that can run on such a system. (if there is one) what does anyone suggest.

Since we have been out so long I decided to open pre-ordering for the month of June -- they are due in July with the specific ETA still being up in the air. I will post when I get a better date within July. I will run this for the month of June and maybe a little bit into July depending on the specific date of arrival. This run features all the updates so far on the 8s AND the new style frame: This frame has superior clearances and is actually a bit easier to get in the hole with large speaker wires. A win-win all in all The magnet boot IS still included -- the frame pic is just a bit older. ----- PRICING : 1x SA-8 = $119 2x SA-8 = $109 each 4x or more SA-8 = $99 each …

Dang i have never had an amp so powerful. i got home from iraq and strapped my two sundown 3000ds together.i used 4 gauge on the negatives and and 8 gauge going to the speakers. got rid of the mtx 12's and put two dd 3512's my trunk two i already had(four all together now). the new ones never had a chance they both went out gotta send em back they didn't burn up just got stuck. its hard not to play em loud when that's all your amps know is loud. i couldn't even put everything on the meter.something happened to my slave amp have to send it back. when i get everything back i will just use one amp to break everything in. the two sundowns are more efficient than my one stets…

Does the NEO 8 have a typical PA sound or will it make me happy when I dont want my ears to bleed? Also will the mags fit in a 6.5" hole or will I do them injustice(dont want to cut metal). Will there be a big difference in the 8" or the soon to be 6.5" ? SQ and output wise? itchy to get started Thanks

Been looking around not many people make a beefy 6.5 woofer, which could be used for many different purposes. Myself I am working on just a random project of (2) 6.5 woofers in a ported enclosure for my garage. But would love to see some Sundown 6.5s I could get for my office to replace my huge sub that takes up too much room. So any chances this has been thought about or being worked on?

Just had two questions. (1) Can a pair of SAZ-1500d be strapped together at 0.5 ohm? And (2) would a 200 or 300amp ALT, red top up front, and a pair of Kinetik HC2000s be enough current to power them correctly? Thanks in advance.
