Sundown Audio

I thought I saw some where that there was a carbon fibre cone and dust cap on the SA-8v2. Was this a one off that I saw? Or was it on something else? Also are there dust cap options for no insignia? Sorry if this is posted some where else but I could not find it. I do believe there is a CF dust cap option but I would prefer to have the whole cone and dust cap of possible. Or at least a blank dust cap that matches the cone. Again thanks to anyones help.

How much distance between the bottom of magnet /pole vent on sa10 and the back of the enclosure is needed or recommended?

I figured Jacob could drop a bit of info here on the upcoming SA18 that is due to be released sometime in Oct. per fb. I'm personally interested in these as one of my choices for a upcoming build.

I am going out of town for an extended business trip on July 23rd -- I will be returning August 5th. I am the only one that will be gone; everyone else will still be here. That DOES mean that I will temporarily close down ordering of Refurbished Woofers and the Yard Sale while I am away since I manage those two projects myself. That DOES NOT mean anything else will be majorly affected. Ok so I got a set of SA 12's a few months back had originally had two e12's on my old amp but replaced the amp with a saz-1200d and my e12's was dual 2ohm so I ordered two of the new v2 dual 4ohm but find out a few days later they are out of stock.. so thinking I asked if I could just pay the difference for two new Sa12's I was told sure. . So now after having them and meeting a few other people's that have sa's looking at mine it almost looks like I was sent B stock . I started talking about doing this line back in November on Facebook then on CACO. I decided to take it all the way to the prototype phase -- this is what I came up with so far. We are talking $60-70 MAP on these from a dealer ----- Here are some initial photos of the FIRST rough prototypes. I have 2 sa 12s in a ported box and I've been thinking of trying to build a 4th order or just buying some sa 15s and building a ported box for them. So my question is could the 12s be louder in a 4th order than the 15s in a ported box tuned to say 30hz? They would both be ran on a saz1500 and space isn't an issue for either and they would be ran in the same vehicle

I have dealt with Jacob directly about 5 years ago when ordering my first Sundown amplifiers and have nothing but great things to say about how he treated me as a customer. Currently have a Sa-8V2 in a 1.2^3 ported enclosure powered off a AQ1200D at 2 ohms(~850RMS).. I would like some more trunk space in my 2014 WRX hatchback and was wondering how these subs sounded like sealed? Or is it even a good idea at all?

Had a friend of ours in the industry put these on their Amp Dyno to verify power since people have asked us about it. All SAE amps meet or exceed ratings @ 1 % THD on the Dyno. What power supply 12v do i need to power up Sundown 1000.1 monoblock amp

I was planing to build a box that's about 1.50 cubic feet tuned to 36hz that's all I have room for. But I don't know which sub I should get Sa-12 Sa-10 E12v2. My amp should do around 750rms clean. This is for a ext cab truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings currently own a z v.4 10. It is a 97 Tahoe being ran off of a saz 2500 v.2. It would be more cost effective to re-cone it to a 18". it would cost little over twice as much two add another z v.4 10, but just because it cost less doesn't mean it will sound better. basically I'm after more output. better low end extension. I had it in my cutlass and it sounded great but in the Tahoe I have a lot more cabin space. any suggestions between the two? thanks in advance for the input.

I know alot of folks have a hard time understanding my explanation of this all in text format; so lets visualize it based on some Klippel results. From the other night -- left number is dash and right number is kick panel. It's our new SPL project... so far we haven't officially stated what is in it so if you know (shhhhhhhhh) -- but we'll have it at a show soon then, of course, have all the info out there! It's mainly a burp vehicle and the absolute peak is 60 Hz but we have done pretty good numbers in the 40s range as well -- haven't really played lower than that as of yet. We did have it up to a 165.4 as well with a few tweaks.

I've seen a lot on the net about how the smd dd1 can damage sundown amps... Why? How? An why is this only sundown amps. Is it all user error or what?

So my friends set up is a single sa 15 in a 6.5 net cu ft box with 91.5 in Sq port area and it's receiving roughly 950 watts. After normal play for about an hour the motor gets very warm and we noticed today that around the cone there is a small amount of tearing on the surround. Not sure why this is happening knowing that the sa's can take quite a bit of beating . maybe the box is just to large for the woofer and it's causing some thermal stress on the the motor. Just curious what might be the problem and if there is a solution.

I have always been a bit SQ fan. Clean and clear sound is what brought me into car audio but I had to make a detour towards output for most of our company history so far in order to meet my customer demands. I bought a pair of 10in Neo Pro v2s in 8ohm from WoofersEtc on Amazon. When I received them the box says 8ohm, but the underside of the cone on both of them says 4ohm. I checked them with the multimeter and they both read around 3.8-4ohm. I'm pretty annoyed because I needed an 8ohm load on my amplifier. I'm most definitely not going to pay for shipping to send them back and have new ones sent because the shipping was 40$. I find it odd though that sundown managed to box up and supposedly test these speakers without noticing this. Any ideas on what happened here, and has anyone else had this happen?
