Sundown Audio

Been looking around not many people make a beefy 6.5 woofer, which could be used for many different purposes. Myself I am working on just a random project of (2) 6.5 woofers in a ported enclosure for my garage. But would love to see some Sundown 6.5s I could get for my office to replace my huge sub that takes up too much room. So any chances this has been thought about or being worked on?

I woke up, and sitting in my dining room ( my little brother brought my delivery in) was 2 boxes. And the other box was the first half of my wiring order.

I just wanted to know, if I had a 300 amp alternator and 1 kinetiks 2400 batts with a run of 1/0 would I have enough juice for 1 ohm daily without massive voltage drop?

Im getting mixed info like crazy on this one...mainly concerned with keeping voltage drop to a minimum. I've read, more wire, the better..then i've read there was no difference i.e. Sean replaced his 10 y/o 0ga with brand new 2 runs of 0 and he gained nothing... Here's my electrical before you guys ask for it....DB electrical 250a alt and plan on running a XS Power D3100 in the back.

Got my first prototypes in for the v.3 revision of the SA-8 -- it took quite a bit of consideration to figure out how to make some improvements to the design but I think we are on the right track : * Newly tooled surround with an improved shape / slightly bigger overall size... this is a new shape I have been testing with for a while that is a bit more linear than the old shape. Got a pair built to ship to a customer... Customized with double leads, 3 spiders, and a Nightshade cone. Specs as follows with a few minutes break-in : RE: 1.84 ohms FS: 37.87 Hz Qes: 0.531 Qms: 7.56 Qts: 0.496 Le: 1.30 mH Vas: 45.9 L BL: 16.73 NA Cms: 52.21 uM/N Mms: 338 grams Sens: 88.56 1w/1m NS cone + Double leads add about 80 grams MMS compared to the Z v.2 cone with single leads. The added mass got the Fs down and Qts up a bit -- which will be quite suitable for the 4th order band-pass the customer wants to use.

I'm curious to see what kind of power these guys put out. I know they're hella underrated so I'm curious what kind of power they ACTUALLY do? 200rms per channel? or closer to 150? I'd love to have 150-200 a side running some DD 6.5" LTs would get retarded loud imo, thanks, Tom

Well i have finally gotten around to installing my saz2000d to power my 15inch NS at 1ohm! and let me tell you! it is loud!! Something i did notice though was with the sae1200 i would have a voltage drop of like 14.4-12.8 on the money and that was with the amp set with a dmm at 60hz at 1000rms. But with this 2000 in my trunk i get voltage drops of 14.4-12.8volts and that is set around 2000rms at 1ohm! also i was monitoring my voltage drop with a stinger voltmeter and the car was at idle which is about 750rmp. so i don't know i s12.8 good? should i upgrade my stock alt? right now i have 2 batcap 2000s in the rear and the big 3 done and that is it for upgraded electrica…

So guys i am new to sundown audio. A friend told me about the SA-8 so i thought i would give them a try. I just ordered 2 dual 4 ohm for a 1 ohm load on my hifonics brutus 1200.1. But any ways long story short i had a cool box design i wanted to try but not to sure on how to calc. the box volume and needed port length for a 35hz tune. I convinced my son's friend into ordering a SA 12 However he wants to put it into his existing sealed box that is ~1.65 ft^3. I know the recommended sealed size is 1 ft^3. What effect will this have? Any less power handling, less sound quality (yes he was looking for sound quality:-), etc. Thanks for your help.

currently i run 2 12s off 2 1500ds... i am am having issues with wheter to stick with the 12's or change baskets and softparts to 15's... but before i go that route i wanna know how loud can 2 12's get in an optimal enclosure to acheive a little more loudness and range from these subs. as of right they they are crazy loud!!!!! but you always wanna a little more to see what these beasts can do. i've been talkin to pete about another box for my tweles and possibly 1 if i choose to recone them... we were working on a design that will have the subs drop as low as 15-20hz and still sound good all the way up to 90hz (daily beater) the box i have now is 4.4 cubes @ 35hz and real…
