Hey jacob. I recently built a box for my 2 sa8s. I was told it might be too big for the power im throwing at it.I built it with birtch, 2.25 cubes @ 30.2 hz. Im using 2 3inch 14 inches long. Im going to use my saz-3000d @ 2 ohm. I know i have to watch my gain. what would be the best box size for 30 hz for that power? Here is a pic of my work.

  3. finally got my system up and running, and after a little break-in preriod to let the spiders soften up a bit, i've finally got a daily system that i can pound on and be happy with. 2x saz3500d's and 2x ns v2 18's in 8 cubes @ 30hz sealed on the dash: so 153.9 @ 37hz on music, 152 @ 30hz. the loud n low champs thread made me decide to post this up so people take the ns V2's into consideration when doing a daily build...they're very capable of getting low while being loud, and the new v2's take abuse like a champ! (not recommended for those who dont know what they're doing)

I have created an actual Sundown Facebook page that you can "Like" and get updates. I've had hundreds of friends requests on my personal page from customers -- and it is just that, a personal page, and not for everyone to see. But I did post alot of Sundown information on there that I'm sure people wanted to see... that information will now go to our actual Facebook page: Sundown Audio| Facebook

SA-8 D2 w/ Aluminum SPL Coil -- I had a thread about the idea here : http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53745 151.6 passenger side kick measurement at 68 Hz. We haven't re-clamped since moving stuff around but it was clamping 1670 watts yesterday at 151.0 dB -- HU volume hasn't changed, we simply moved stuff around so we are assuming power isn't a whole lot different. We are going to get another video soon as well... we got a 152.2 in the driver side kick panel. Haven't had time to do a video just yet.

Would two D2 SA-8's do ok on an Audiopipe AP1000D running at 2ohms? That would be 700watts rms. Also, how would the sound compare to a single 10 or 12 in an SQ type setup?

Okay i have been running a 1500d on 4 10" kickers while i wait for my sa-10's . I had another 1500d in closet, so i decided to go ahead and throw it in,and get it strapped, and ready for the sa's . Heres the deal i had the gain set all the way down so as to not destroy the kickers. Added the second 1500d, and now i can set gain to almost 3/4 and its still not as load as with just 1 amp the single was running 1ohm and the 2 was at 1ohm strapped so .5 each. voltage doesnt drop thats not a issue i just cant figure out why its louder with only 1 amp running if 1 was bad it wouldnt work at all strapped? or could that be a problem?

I have the chance to grab a NIB SA-12 D2 for a decent price. I want to run a single sub in my Jeep. The amp I am going to be using for now is the Audiopipe AP-1000D. I want to run more then 300w to the sub but that is all the amp is rated for at 4ohm but if I run the sub/amp at 1ohm I can get 1000w. Is this ok to do with this sub/amp pairing? If not I'll get a D4 and run it at 2ohm and 700w. As far as the box...I am thinking about doing a sealed box. My plans for the system are SQ and I would also like to save some cargo space by doing a sealed box. Other than ensuring the airspace is correct...is there any affect on the sound/performance related to the shape of the box? …

I finally got my saz2000d and 4 - sa-8's installed today. You can see my build log on this forum if you like. This is in a 2000 ford ranger. I've installed a db electrical 200 amp alt. I've run a 1/0 cable from the alternator to the battery. I was planning on replacing the battery in the truck soon, when it went bad I bought the cheapo 500 cca for $35.00 about a year ago. I have 4 - runs of 1/0 flex cable from the battery to the rear of the truck. 2 of those runs (pos./neg.) are for the 2000d. The 4 sa8's are ( coils in series ) woofers parallel to amp. 1 ohm. 3.2 c.f. (net) enclosure tuned to 32 hertz. My problem is the amp goes into protection when there's a quick/short…

Hi, I recently decided to upgrade my Type-R subs to 2 Sundown SA-12's (4 Ohm) for my SAZ-1500D amp and want to set them up as 1 Ohm and I have followed the diagram on the12-volt which is this: but my sub box has 2 wire terminals for each sub so what I did was for each sub - to - and + to + with the one + wire from the top coil and the - from bottom coil to the terminal and from the terminals to the amp to their -/+ and set jumpers on the amp as + to + and - to -, this should be ok right? I had the Type-R's is the same fashion which worked fine but the SA-12's aren't pushing which is making me think I might have done something wrong in the wiring so if someone can please…

Hey guys i am going to make a template for my sub box so i can pre drill some holes on the mounting board of my box so that way i can just toss the sub in and then use the t-nuts and screw it in. I want to pre-drill due to the style of my box and it will be very tricky to drill with the sub being there. please take note of how the subs will mount and they will be mounted inverted. at any rate i am going to make a cutout out of some steel that way i can position everything before i get the subs back from re-cone and just drop them in and away i go. Now (finally) my question is what radius is the screw holes on? if the cutout is 11inch and the overall is 12.5 will the…

So guys i am getting a recone on my 15 to a pair of 12's, the subs in question are the NS v1. my question is how many spiders does the NS v1 normally come with? i ask b/c i will be running 2-saz2500 strapped to the 2-12's and someone mentions to me maybe i should get another spider added to the 12's so they can handle the amount of power? so my question again is do i need or shoudl i get another spider added to each sub or no would stock be enough. i plan to do a daily/ burp car but primary a daily setup application. thanks for viewing my thread and any input! Currently running a 3500 at 1ohm. Haven't clamp metered it yet but what sort of voltage should i be seeing across the speaker terminals. Reason i ask is sub sound awesome at 71-72v but one notch more on the vol sends it up to 75v and I loose output and the sub makes a fart noise. Cheers your brother from across the water.

im suppose to pick up some more 0/1 wire and another battery this weekend, but now im wondering if i really need it. this is what is getting used, i have a sundown saz2000, and a sax 125.2. i plan on running it at .6 ohms next season. for electrical i have big 3 done, 220amp alt, 1 run of 0/1 front to back, odyssey 1500 up front, and a odyssey 2150 in the back. now is it worth it for me to jam another battery in the back? i know the more the better, but is it really needed? also, would i benefit from another run of pos front to back?? im just thinking if i can save the money i should. thanks

Happened alot faster than I thought... but the first run of motors is totally sold out as of today. If you have already paid for one you are fine (I saved yours too, Fabio) -- just did inventory this morning and we cannot sell any more than we already have. It will be a few months for more as I had to get a huge amount of amps started before the MOSFET shortage hit and also had to strengthen stock of the better selling SA line first. I will make a post when they are available again -- of course parts and re-cones will remain available the whole time. Just no new units until we get motors again.
