Sundown Audio

  1. Started by 06 Scion xB,

I have a Sundown Audio Nightshade v.1 12" sub dual 2ohm coil's. I was wondering what is the process of getting it reconed? How long does it normally take? And how much is it to be done? Thank you very much for your time and great products. Also is there any options to upgrade it any? And how much would those options be. And are they worth it? I have a sundownAudio SAZ1500d for amp. Big three done and tons of zero guage wire also running second battery.

Put the two SA-8 box in the CRX modified with an 8" aero-port... finally got tuning settled in to 57 Hz as the loudest. Powered by two SAZ-1500Ds... with one Stinger SPP1500D and one Stinger SPV-70. On Powermaster charger for testing. Interior of car is currently gutted to prepare for sound dampening. Here are the results : Score is dB Drag style on the dash legal and sealed up. Little FYI... bought the ports here : 8x20" Flared Ports NEW big raduis

  4. currently i run 2 12s off 2 1500ds... i am am having issues with wheter to stick with the 12's or change baskets and softparts to 15's... but before i go that route i wanna know how loud can 2 12's get in an optimal enclosure to acheive a little more loudness and range from these subs. as of right they they are crazy loud!!!!! but you always wanna a little more to see what these beasts can do. i've been talkin to pete about another box for my tweles and possibly 1 if i choose to recone them... we were working on a design that will have the subs drop as low as 15-20hz and still sound good all the way up to 90hz (daily beater) the box i have now is 4.4 cubes @ 35hz and real…

  6. finally got my system up and running, and after a little break-in preriod to let the spiders soften up a bit, i've finally got a daily system that i can pound on and be happy with. 2x saz3500d's and 2x ns v2 18's in 8 cubes @ 30hz sealed on the dash: so 153.9 @ 37hz on music, 152 @ 30hz. the loud n low champs thread made me decide to post this up so people take the ns V2's into consideration when doing a daily build...they're very capable of getting low while being loud, and the new v2's take abuse like a champ! (not recommended for those who dont know what they're doing)

  9. But after examining the forums lately and seeing what coming up from your company, I think it is safe to say that you never cease to amaze the customers at the amount of work and effort you've been doing. You really need a blog to let the customers know what is going on at Sundown Audio I mean from my examination from lately you've put out a 125.2 update / pre-order, 50.4 release / pre-order, 3000D not too long ago, Night Shades, SA Series on the verge of testing, Updated the 1500D with graphics and different heatsink, 100.4D update / pre-order, Sundown 8's and then 8" updates to surround and a few other things, SAE - 1200D over the 1000D, slim-line midbass, etc.... I mea…

I got my SA-10's last week. And probably won't have them installed for another month. So if you've got your SA-10's up and running. Let's see some pics and or vids of your setup. I'll be running 2 SA-10's in 2.5 cu ft@32hz wired to 1 ohm off my SAZ-1500d.

http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60051 A collection of threads about SA series woofers being awesome I'm going to keep the central thread on CACO to make it easier to update. What am I missing ? I am trying to compile all of the best threads about the SA series woofers as I keep seeing threads like "Is the SA-12 any good?" -- linking this thread would be a quick way to answer AND give good information.

I have the chance to grab a NIB SA-12 D2 for a decent price. I want to run a single sub in my Jeep. The amp I am going to be using for now is the Audiopipe AP-1000D. I want to run more then 300w to the sub but that is all the amp is rated for at 4ohm but if I run the sub/amp at 1ohm I can get 1000w. Is this ok to do with this sub/amp pairing? If not I'll get a D4 and run it at 2ohm and 700w. As far as the box...I am thinking about doing a sealed box. My plans for the system are SQ and I would also like to save some cargo space by doing a sealed box. Other than ensuring the airspace is correct...is there any affect on the sound/performance related to the shape of the box? …

Im just trying to find out if i'm uninformed or really missing a part. I received my brand new SAX-200.4D on Friday, May 20. Super excited, I pulled it from the box and upon giving the amp a good looking over, I found it was missing the black plastic switch for the High/Full/Low pass crossover for channels 1&2. Its been awhile since i was involved in car audio, but dont we still need these switches? I already tried talking to the authorized internet dealer, but i was told to talk to the manufacturer. So quick to take your money, but so useless when it comes to help. im just worried i threw a bunch of money out the door. any help would be appreciated.

Well i bought a few Nightshade v.1 motors from jacobs yardsale a week or so ago. when they arrived there were still cones in place. i checked coils and one of the subs still read good. so i decided to put some power to it. It made music but sounded horrible but seemed to work ok. I bought these to resize/recone and figured neither sub would work, but. 1) 12' blown junkyard nightshade v.1 1) box that leaks and is about 2.5 times too big for the sub. (was made for 3 sa-10s) i re-baffled it to make the show 1) sundown 3k 1) Truck that is notorious for not getting loud. My 4x sa-8s do a best of 143 on music. I took 1st in Streetbeat 1 I slapped this together at the last minut…

  21. I'm curious to see what kind of power these guys put out. I know they're hella underrated so I'm curious what kind of power they ACTUALLY do? 200rms per channel? or closer to 150? I'd love to have 150-200 a side running some DD 6.5" LTs would get retarded loud imo, thanks, Tom

I've made repeated efforts to get an invoice for one of the amps I bought from DB-r over the last 6 months. I've posted here and sent e-mails to db-r. Neither of you have lifted a finger to help me. I've come to the conclusion that Sundown support is all hype because when I needed some help I couldn't get any at all. The next time I spend a grand on audio equipment it will be someplace else.

Can a pair of strapped 1500's run a Dual 2 BTL safely? Its below the rated two ohms, but seeing as the power test were dropping insane numbers, I figured it was worth a shot to ask if its been done.

The SA-8 shipment is due Wednesday roughly. Disclaimer... PLEASE DO NOT e-mail me or post asking about your specific order ship-date. We will e-mail tracking to you or your dealer through the automated system; all orders will go out in the order they were received and as quickly as we possibly can. I expect that it will take into next week to get them all out.
