Sundown Audio

I just wanted to know, if I had a 300 amp alternator and 1 kinetiks 2400 batts with a run of 1/0 would I have enough juice for 1 ohm daily without massive voltage drop?

ok, so i read the specs for the 1000d, and it says battery wire terminal, 0 guage, so i go on ebay and buy a 0 gauge amp kit. and then when i go to hook up my amp, the zero gauge wire is 1/3 to big, and i thought rockford fostage would be more accurate, maybe it was that , or maybe sundown made a mistake on my amp or somthing, i heard it was ok to take off wire to make it smaller, as long as you clean it up nice, and then electrical tape it, so that is how it stands now. my box isnt here yet. so i havnt ran it yet. all sugjestions are apreciated so much, this is my dream system and i dont want to fuk it up by jerry rigging it like that or somthing. thanks guys. kevin

I just wanted to post a thread saying thank you to Jacob over at Sundown for some excellent customer service. It could not have gone any better. Story: A few weeks ago I started to have problems with my SAE-1200Dv1. It was mysteriously jumping in and out of protect. I tried to troubleshoot myself but could not get it working, so I sent Jacob an e-mail for some assistance. He asked me to verify my voltages with a DMM and everything checked out alright. However, the amp was still going into protect. After about a week of troubleshooting, trying to avoid an RMA, he decided it was best to just send the amp in. I have had my 3500D installed for a while now and its great however when I really crank it up full tilt on music after maybe 20 mins. it will sometimes go into protect. I had a 300 amp circuit breaker hooked up next to it up until today when I switched it out for a 300 amp ANL fuse. I had a problem with the circuit breaker tripping when turned to full tilt also, I think due to extreme vibrations. After replacing the circuit breaker I found it still went into protect once today. I have 2 165ah batteries next to the 3500D and a optima yellowtop under the hood, but I'm still running the factory alternator which I plan to upgrade soon. I have a digital gauge mounted on the da…

i was thinking of getting two nightshade 18s and stetsom 7k at 1 ohm do you think the nightshades would be able to handle it or should i wait till this spl monster that jacob has been working on comes out ps jacob do you know when youll be releasing that monster

If i were to use 4 or more sundown 3000's, does the BR out work for daisy chaining multiple amps together, or is it only for strapping 2 amps together?

I got in my truck this morning and started it up then turned on my stereo. I heard a small pop and noticed my front speakers were not working. I started investigating and discovered the 3 fuses on my 100.2 had all blown. I went to put in new ones and they blew right away and then smoke came from the amplifier. I have gone over all my power and ground wiring and cannot find any shorts. I have a sundown 1200d running off the exact same power and ground thru distribution blocks. That amp continues to play my subs and the fuses are all fine. I opened up the 100.2 and saw a burned part. I guess it's one of the fets along the side. Im going to be running a power hungry setup. two sundown 2000d to 2 orion hcca 15.2 subs.1 sundown 100.4 and 125.2. 3 sets of componets front & rear doors & kick panels. My question is why do people run 2 or 3 lines of 0 gauge to the back? also im running a 300amp alt 1 kinetik 2000 under the hood and two 2400s for the audio. im piecing everything together rite now should be done in a month. just waiting on the componets

10,320 watts from my pair @ 1.5 ohms each actual impedance after rise, starting at 0.5 DCR 5160 each 17.9 volts rest - did not measure voltage drop yet This is similar to what I got from the 3000s at a rise to ~1 ohm or below Will post more when I get more results.

Ok i am currently up grading my system and i have 2 alpine type r 12s and two alpine mrp-m 500... its pretty loud for what it is. i am buying the sae-1200dv2... and i was wondering that how would i wire my subs and how much power would they be running at... im kinda new i know enough to buy install and know what to look for... i just dont understand how the power is after that.... i was told its half the power gos to each driver.... im confused help... they are both dual 4 ohm voice coils... i plan on buying a 15 inch SSA Icon... it all will be in my 2002 grand prix GTP... if you could help that would be awsome...

ive got a 1500d on 4 12's.i just turned my gain up a tad bit and now its hittn hard but skippn my cd player when it hits a certain bass note.ive got to fix this probablem cause i do competitions and i cant be having that.ive got a alpine 9885.any sugestions as to what i can do.thanks guys.ive still got another amp to put in.thats why im worried

Hi Guys, So I want a SaZ 3000D and nothing else. problem is i know my electrical might or might not make it. All i Need (for the time being) is 2000RMS into 1 ohm problem is; im half way around the world and no one is doing a alt for my car. at the moment im pushing 1200 RMS (mono only) into 2ohms and dont have any problems with my all stock electrical the plan is to get the big 3 done and two identical deepcycle battery's im planning to push the 2x BL 12's if any one would want to know my current amp will do 1750 RMS into 1 ohm but somehow i think a big amp working not so hard will give better results then a smaller one driven to its max ?? + its a sundown so i got to h…

Hi everyone, I'm trying to build a box for a single x15. It's going to have a 1500w amp wired at 1ohm. The sub is going in a 99 Isuzu trooper so I have a lot of space for the box. The problem is that I have all apple products so I can't download anything to find out what the dimensions have to be. If someone could figure out the dimensions for me I would really appreciate it.
