$60 + shipping each regardless of quantity Need to make room in the warehouse so price is 1/2 what I was originally asking. --- I bought out all of the QC failed SI BM 10s (old models) and re-built them with several changes: 1) Slightly longer flat-wound coil (original was round wire) - USA made coils 2) Narrower / Taller Surround 3) Tied down tinsel leads Measured T/S Specs (coils in series): RE: 6.89 ohms Z: 8 ohms Fs: 27.2 Hz Qes: 0.56 Qms: 3.32 Qts: 0.48 Le: 2.8 mH Vas: 31.1 L BL: 16.2 NA Mms: 124 grams Power: 400 watts RMS 0.95 ft^3 SEALED BOX - F3 of 41 Hz 1.5 ft^3 ported tuned to 30 - 35 Hz for high output I have about 40 of these... * There she is. This proto is totally chrome... production models will have the chromed basket but will have a black anodized top plate and back plate to match the black / silver / black color scheme of the SAX and SAZ amplifiers. * Big fat tinsels with "tie down" routing to prevent slap. * Nightshade vs. a TC9 based sample I am also working with on an unrelated project. The TC9 weighs around 35 pounds for reference. I hooked it up for the first time last night and knocked the rear view mirror off in my Civic using an SAE-1000D for power and a roughtly 4.4 ft^3 box tuned to 35 Hz (6 x 6" port). -

All, I am looking into running 2) SA-12s in my 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI. I do not want to loose my entire trunk with a large ported enclosure and also, I prefer the sound of sealed enclosures. I am not a SQ freak but I like the tight bass, with some boom if I crank it up. I am limited to 1000-1200W RMS. They will be getting 600W each @ 2 Ohms. My question is this - the Sundown website recommends 1.0 ft^3. I listen to mostly rap, R&B, electronic, with some metal mixed in there. 1) Should I be going slightly larger than recommended to retain my lows (e.g. 1.25 ft^3)? 2) I can't find much info on the SA-12s in sealed enclosures. Anybody running these sealed? How… -

So... I'm finally going to have a running vehicle with a system. It's been about 8 months since I've had a system in a running vehicle, pretty sad all things considered! But... it is coming along nicely and some photos of the progress are attached. *Under-Hood Wiring w/ Knukonceptz KLM 1/0 battery to chassis and battery to engine block grounds. Generic "0 gauge" wire through generic ANL fuse holder. The red generic 0 gauge is about the size of 2 gauge quality wire and is plenty for this install. All ring terminals are soldered... and yes, that is a much larger battery than stock. * Roughly 2 cubes tuned to ~32 Hz thanks to Rich (stratusrt01). This houses 2x Sundown SD-1… -

Photo of the 12" model. T/S Specs for 12" D1 model: Qts = 0.403 Qms = 6.830 Qes = 0.428 Fs = 43 Hz (fresh without break-in) VAS = 11.65 L (fresh without break-in) Le = 1.41 mH (series) Re = 1.59 ohms Xmax = 20 mm BL = 17.58 N/A 15" model T/S are TBA. This sub is designed to be something that you can roll around with daily and hit SPL competitions with, all in the same woofer It's very daily friend but will still put up good numbers on the meter when you want it to do so. Now... they will be ready in February in 12" and 15" sizes with D1 and D2 coils. My question is this... who wants to be able to pre-order them now? If there is enough interest I will go ahead and get it … -

Hi, I am debating on which of these two setups to use, im going for either 1 10 or 2 8 and its down to the x10 vs 2 sa8-v2. Both setups would be with 1000w rms. The two sa-8 v2 would be on 1.2 cf net enclosure tuned to 35hz and the x10 would be on the recomended enclosure. I am looking for an overall good and loud set up that works for all types of music, From Salsa to Hip Hop. Let me know what you all think. Thanks in advance -

The SD-1 v.2 protos are in... they take everything the SD-1 was good at and take it up a notch. 1) They are even shallower at only 4.5" mounting depth (10" model). 2) They have more linear x-max. 3) They have a 2.5" voice coil so they will handle twice as much power thermally. 4) They maintain the efficiency of the original SD-1. 5) They maintain the small box requirements of the original SD-1. 6) They maintain the low-end performance of the original SD-1. 7) They are now DVC 4 ohm for more wiring options. 8) They now have a rubber mounting gasket. These subs will throw down in very small enclosures and will now handle much more power. Ideal for shallow truck enclosures! … -

I have 2 sa 12s in a ported box and I've been thinking of trying to build a 4th order or just buying some sa 15s and building a ported box for them. So my question is could the 12s be louder in a 4th order than the 15s in a ported box tuned to say 30hz? They would both be ran on a saz1500 and space isn't an issue for either and they would be ran in the same vehicle -

Just curious what you would consider your SQ sub, they all look nice but seem to be more daily beater oriented and slightly less SQ oriented, maybe 60-40 that way. Also, do you have any plans for an SQ reference sub? -

Hi, I'm new but a long time lurker of this board. I've finally decided to purchase a sa-12 and add a subwoofer to my car. (Bmw E46 Sedan) Before I purchase, I would like to get the box sorted out. I've been using some different calculators and various threads from this board to figure out how I should build the box. I have the whole trunk to use so no space constraints. The sa-12 says 1.75-2 cubic feet which leaves very little to no room for a port. I want to tune to 35 hz. I looked into maybe one 6" aero port, but it would be a stretch to get a 2 cubic foot box to fit the sub and the port which would be 14-16" long. Any help or suggestions? Would a passive radiator be m… -

E8 v.2 Production started today! ETA is roughly the end of November for these to arrive. As always with a pre-order there is the chance for delays so please keep that in mind -- pre-orders are final and there will be no refunds for delays. E8 v.2 Prototype Pictures: * Compared to SA-8 : E8 v.2 on the left * Bumped back plate allows 25mm of throw before bottoming out -- but the surround will stop the driver before that. * Exact same spider as the SA-8 but only a SINGLE layer instead of two like the SA-8 * Comparison to E8 v.1 Motor Specifications : D2 Model : RE: 3.927 ohms Fs: 43.59 Hz Qes: 0.643 Qms: 4.404 Qts: 0.555 Le: 2.75 mH Vas: 7.22 L BL: 13.023 NA Cms: 131… -

I have talked to several other Team Sundown members and all of us seem to want the same thing, bigger amps:D Its ok running several 3000D's(becomes a space issue) but it would be very nice to have a 5k or even a 7k. I am sure there is a big enough market that these would sell. Everyone wants big power now and this would do the trick. For the other people that would like bigger Sundown amps please post here! -

So after getting a hold of a clean logo for sundown, I was working on some other things when I just got an inspiration to do something creative. So I spun up some BT laptop symphony and ripped this out. If anyone wants a high res version 1920x1080, just let me know. probably do some more later, just got lots of house work to do today and I am procrastinating! LOL -

100-watts RMS 8s / $99 each from authorized dealer 200-watts RMS 10s / $115 each from authorized dealer Frequency range is ~80-5000 Hz on these -- the bottom end crossover point depends largely on how much power is ran to them. 8 ohm coils for large setups where you would be connecting 4 per channel to an SAX-125.2 or SAX-100.4 or 8 per channel on an SAX-200.4 These drivers are extremely light and relatively shallow so will fit in many locations easily and also will not weigh down doors with large quantities of drivers as bad as ferrite drivers. Standard Madisound grilles should fit them -- we will test it shortly. -

I did some early prototyping around this time last year on some mid-level sets and they were quite good, IMO... I decided to re-evaluate them a bit based on the listening I've had with them since that time. I received the first early prototype of the new mid-level set a few days ago and I will be replacing the 2011 prototypes in my car with these soon. The biggest change is the cone material... for a set like this that crosses over higher I prefer a paper base vs. the composite base (woven material) that the other set utilized. The set is NOT done as I plan to modify the frame on the mid as well as the motor ventilation. There will be no fancy eye-candy to the set -- very… -

Well, my TL finally came back so put the truck on the meter... my head hurts even with ear plugs AND hearing protective head phones on. First go @ the TL after finding the peak of 48 hz: Legal mic position too: Take a look at my collection of Powermaster D3100s, seven at this time: Used to power four SAZ-3000Ds: Dual Powermaster alternators for the win: While taking that last pic I realized that I forgot to tighten the ground on the top alternator... so I did so and run the truck again: ---- Not too bad! Now... it's time to get tweaking -
