Alright.. There is a huge hype on the sa-8's.. badass speakers ive heard.. is the other SA speakers comparable? .. hope that makes sense.. what im asking is would the sa-8 sound better than the 10 or 12? they are all reasonably priced, but if the 8 sounds so damn good can i expect the same from the 12? I know the nightshade is a beast.. thats not in question.

  3. Hello everybody. I just wanted to let everyone know that my Kia Sportage SUV is on the Sundown Audio's Rides Page. It is listed under the Customer's Ride's Page, but it should be listed in the Team Sundown Audio Member's Page. I am just happy they accepted my pics. Tell me what you think guys.

Paul Strouth's Jeep. Currently doing 153.1 dB @ 35 Hz sealed on the dash on the TL with an American Bass 1000.1 wired to 1.33 DCR per "side" (as it is two amps in one). Power not measured but the subs are moving maybe 1/2-3/4 inch P-P wired at that load. Derrick will be in shortly with more pictures and pictures of the TL screen Port is 288 in^2 tuned to around 44 Hz "on paper" but peaks at 35 hz in the vehicle. Roughly 20.4 cubes after port displacement for the box... so after sub displacement just a hair over 1.5 per sub. --- We tested it in an open warehouse section of the shop... and it did a number on my office : --- 153.1 @ 35 Hz run We'll get more up as soon as…

Just an FYI... they can take anywhere from 1 to 10 days to build depending on how busy we are. Please do not ask for status updates the next day -- it just takes us away from finishing everyone's woofers. This goes for ANY custom job... re-coning a woofer, building drop-ins, NS v.2, Z v.2, etc. We try to keep it down to 5 days or less but it can take longer sometimes !

  14. I'm picking up a pair of Z15's off a guy on the forums here. Due to trunk space and lack of a HO Alt I'm only going to be running one of them and either selling the other or keeping it as a spare. Since they're dvc4 I can only run it at 2 ohms on the amp, and the product manual states that the amp does 600w at 2 ohms. Will there be a large downgrade in performance running them this low? Right now I'm running 2 shitty 12s at a 4 ohm load, and since the manual states that it does 300 @ 4ohm, I dmm'd it at 300. I'm hoping that the z15 on twice the power will blow the 12's out of the water. But by giving the sub just over half its RMS, am I severely limiting it's potential? O…

Is it o.k. to run a .67 load on one of the SAZ models? I am currently feelin' around the forum to find out what I want to do with my sub stage and might do three SA-8s. Before I get too carried away, I wanted to make sure that it would be safe to run 3 D4 SA-8s off of an SAZ model amp, (currently the 1000D but beefing up to a used 2000D in the future for comps and such). I suppose the second question would then be: As long as I keep the box small and watch the volume knob when I'm daily driving, would it be safe to run the afore-mentioned subs off an SAZ-2000D? I don't know for certain, but wouldn't that be 3000 watts-ish? Thanks for any help in advance P.S. I didn'…

  16. Hey guys, I'm new here and I'm looking all over the net for some good info and I stumbled upon this site by a fluke I read on few forums that this is a quality amp and seems to be going for a price of $200 which is the top I want to spend on an amp, budget is tight. I've got two sets of coaxial speakers, both Alpine, one is Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. and the other Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. I'm working with limited space of no more than 17''x11'' in an enclosed trunk space, I will attach picture of someone elses car with the location of where I also want to put the amp.

Hi All, Complete noob to the Sundown name, but I recently purchased a SAE-1200D to power a SSA Icon 12 as a daily driver. My question is on the remote that came with the amp there is an 'off' labeled to the left of the min setting. Does this turn the amp off if the knob is put there? I was going to install a switch in the remote turn on lead so that I can have the radio on with out the sub at certain times. (Like listening to a hockey game on the radio) But if the remote will serve my purpose then there is no need for the added switch. Thank you for any help that you can provide.

I bought a set of Sundown Audio Z-15's around december, sadly i never got them hooked up and now im movin out and i need the extra cash so i gotta sell em. Heres where my problem comes in. I need to ship these subs in order to sell them because the people intrested in them are out of state, one being in Oklahoma and they want around $250.00 to ship them. The price seems ridiculous to me. Does anybody know who will ship them from residence to residence for cheap? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
