Sundown Audio

Hey guys, Just for the record I do own, use and love a SAZ1500D. This was asked by my son's friend after seeing my amp, and listening what it could do powering my TC3000. He is planning a dual 10 inch box, has not bought woofers as of yet. true power output sound quality/control of woofers power delivered requirements (Stock Mazda 3 electrical) Is there a reason one of you gents and/or ladies would buy one or the other? I am posting this question because for a dealer specific forum, I have seen some very non biased responses. Also leave out the excellent customer service part of Jacob. I have tried to use that with this kid and it doesn't work. He is interested in b…

Hi guys, I recently bought a NS-1 for my installer. The amp made a world trip before coming to my country (thanks USPS) but we got it right. From the beginning there was a noise like something was loose in the amp. We thought it was due to the fact that the amp is very long and there were not enough screws to hold the panel. One day he smelled something burning, but could not define where it was coming from : from the amp, from the car next to him that was like a smoke machine in the traffic jam,...? Amp never shut off to these days. Today he installed his 2nd btl , re-installed the amp, and had to open it because he realized the fan in the amp was running as soon as…

  3. First off, have to give a big thanks to Jacob for allowing me to use the Sundown logo, and for supplying me with some hi-res jpegs. Finally got some free time in one of our CNC's and got this in. All i have left to do is paint the lettering to make it stand out more. Something wrong with the way the pic came out on this one on the "audio" shape Now to do the other one.

  4. This is a direct replacement for our old SAX-100.4 model as it is a Class-A/B model amplifier. It is much more compact than the old SAX-100.4 but not nearly as compact as the SAX-125.4 model. We have had a great deal of demand for this unit as it is significantly less expensive than the SAX-125.4 model and is perfect for those that don't need such a small foot-print or a 19v stable amp (these are stable up to ~16v). They are available NOW for $400 from any authorized dealer in the USA. -----

I received a brand new Sundown saz-1500 this week and I just got around to installing it. All I can say is wow, it pushes the heck out of my RE SE 10 d4. It's funny, this is only giving the sub about 800 watts since it's running at 2 ohms. In addition, I have the gains on the amp turned way down, as I have not had a chance to set the gians properly yet. I think it's going to be time to get a sub that, first of all, can get to a one ohm load, and secondly, take the 1500 watts. That amp is a beast. I'm excited lol. I also received a Sundown sax-100 today for my highs, but I have not had a chance to install it yet. All Sundown as far as my power goes. I am converte…

I currently own a 2000 Pontiac grand am gt. the dimensions i could easily fit in my trunk would be 18x12x38. Could you help me design a box for a SA-15 within those dimensions. Need design specifics and/or cut sheets. I was thinking about going with two tens or two twelves but i don't think the space will allow me to do it, any ideas?? But definitely going with SA subs no matter what. Don't have amp yet but will match amp to subs regardless. Please Help

More power this time... current clamp shows ONE coil. We hooked each coil up to a seperate 120v circuit for a total power of ~8800 watts at the start, dropped to the 7000s then stayed around that point until failure at 30 seconds. Prior to this video we had JUST finished plugging it in to one socket in series for around 2000 watts for FIVE MINUTES - so it was already hot! The Monster lives up to it's name. If you are wondering about the frame... Brandon had two in his wall without motor supports and it broke off some of the screws allowing the bottom to swing out and break off the top of the frame. So... motor supports are a must.

The molds completed a few days ago and the first samples rolled out -- here are a few of the first look photos from our basket manufacturing company! I am super excited about the potential these will bring to out larger woofers. Once our new spiders, cones, surrounds, and spacers are all tooled we can really show off what these are capable of -- those parts should have completed samples as well soon too. These things carry some serious heft... the base plate that bolts to the motor is 9mm thick un-painted compared to 5mm on most 4 and 12-spokes and 8mm on the Ti-18 frames (add about 0.5mm for paint). They are the strongest frames that I am aware of ever to be produced. --…

I have only had stock car audio so far in my cars and they always state their wattage here and there but, i am curious, what is 100 watts a channel really like. Im going to be buying speakers with a 90db sens and rated about 150 watts max around 70 or so rms, and well, what is it really like compared to a good stock system. Home audio wise, 100 watts is enough to really push high quality towers with beautiful sound, but then again, they are in enclosures which really compliment them. Car audio, a bit different. Now ontop of that, what is 50 watts rms like. My gf has a caliber and just has coaxials right now, she can appreciate better sound but itsd not really her thi…

Just wanted to give a public thank you for the amazing customer service!! The amps showed up today, a couple days before I expected them to. I will always give you the first shot at any audio business I may have in the future( and I know I will;)). Just got my 2 sax-100.2's to go with my saz-1500d. I'm gonna try to run them in dual mono to my Diamond d-971 components, I think that will drop my noise levels wayyyy down, and really help my staging/imaging as well. Again, Jacob... THANK YOU!!!

So to make a long story short I have a polk amp that puts out 573 watts rms. The rated rms level for the e 12 is 400 and my amp can't even push it. I don't know if it is because the sub hasn't broken in yet or if because this sub is simply a Badass. Anyway the point I am trying to make is... Thanks Jacob for making a beast subwoofer. Now just time to get a more Badass amp to push this bad boy.

I recently just purchased a set of Rainbow Germaniums (150w RMS) and a Profi 12" subwoofer (DVC 2ohm - 50~350w RMS). Currently I have eD amps in my car (9.2 & 9.1) and I've heard alot of great things about Sundown amps. The SAX-100.4 caught my eye after seeing pictures of it, but not sure if it's gonna work with my setup. If I run Channels 1-2 to my Germaniums and have Channels 3-4 to my sub (needs to be 2ohm if possible), would this be a possible setup?? I know the Germaniums will not get the power it needs @ 100x2, but if I bridged the 100.4, then that is way too much power for them. Also, how many watts will the Profi sub be getting if I bridged the rear chann…
