Sundown Audio

Has anyone tried the Sa-12 's in a 4 order bandpass ? What kind of number? I'm thinking of trying 3 in a 4 order. Can anyone design this type of setup?

I am building a competition van for a customer and it will have either 16 XS Power D3100s or 20 2400s (working on sponsorship), 4 Kicker Warhorse amps, and a deck mounted in rear for burps with a audio control line driver (8v). This will be walled off and strictly for Competition use only and tuned around 70HZ. The customer wants to go with Kicker Solo X 18s but I am currently trying to get him into Sundown Nightshade V2 18s. There will be 4 subs and each one will be hooked up to one warhorse at full power (approx 10k rms each sub). Hey Guys. Well, I traded my SAZ-3500D and got 2 SAZ-2000D's. Here is a pic. It is hard to believe all of that is in my spare tire well. Each amp is wired to each Sundown Nightshade 15 dual 2 ohm at 1 ohm each. Little SPL Box. Hoping to do a 151+ at NSPL World Finals tomorrow.

i know they're rated at 100w rms, but crossed at say 80 to 100hz, what do you think they can take Jacob? i have about 250w per mid the way itll be wired. not sure if theyll handle that over time or not.

I just wanted to post up some pics of my second 3000D. The new heat-sink feels a heck of a lot heavier then the old one. I'm going to try to get some numbers tonight. And a pic of what they are powering

Over the last few days I was home and able to run a couple tests with my gear. I was pleasantly surprised to see these numbers when I clamped my pair of SAZ-1500Ds strapped at 2 ohms (1-per), car on with factory alt, off of a little 600CA battery: ~3,100WRMS I built my first attempt at a box strictly geared towards SPL, and after tinkering with it a bit worked up to a score of 146.0 dbdrag style, using these amps and two 12" RE SXs out of a saturn trunk. Just figured I'd share the results... I have big plans for this summer once I get a hold of a new battery and some time to build/test.

How do I go about joining? Or do you have to be invited or something like that? Anybody want to fill me in I must have missed it somewhere haha. Thanks!

okay i have some questions about the output, with a 1ohm load + box rise (lets say 1.5ohms) with the proper electrical would i see 3000+ watts without clipping?

finally got the front stage all setup, and painted and fiberglassed. Time to start building for the bass now.

alright well i just got my install in my crx finished today. and decided to show up at some small competition in danville illinois called bass wars or something like that. unfortunetly they are still using the audiocontrol. im running 2 Treo SSi 15s off a sundown 3000d with the gain turned all the way down. I may just be overlooking something, but i can't seem to find enclosure recommendations or sub displacement. And it says that it has 2 inches of xmax, so 48mm? I may be wrong, but I think there is 2.4 cm in 1 in. which means 24 mm=2.4 cm.

So the 1000 is rated at 1000W @ 14.4 volts. What kind of numbers are we looking at closer to voltages on stock electrical, say 13V? Would two 1000d's be content on an 100A alt, with the big 3, and a battery in the rear? Also, one amp does 1000W, but two strapped does 1800. Why is this? And one more question... would a 1000d on a Fi SSD 12" wang awesomely? Thanks! -Trevor

I got my amps in yesterday from jacob! And all I can say is WOW! they are beasty! SunDown has never let me down! SunDown Audio I LOVE YOU! Plus I love the new hex head screw's(not phillips anymore)

If i were to use 4 or more sundown 3000's, does the BR out work for daisy chaining multiple amps together, or is it only for strapping 2 amps together?

Since my 4 15" Soundstream T4 project is being delayed, I decided to strap both amps into the sebring on 1 MTX Audio 12" 9500 subwoofer today. Got both amps strapped up, all connections good and the master amp set at 1/2 gain and 1/2 bass boost in a 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 38Hz. My first reaction when the bass hit.....was like......HoLy SH**.. It literally took my breath away and I had to turn it down. My trunk was trying to jump off the car literally. 1 ohm on each amp, and this 9500 is taking it like a champ. Amps never even got warm. These SAZ 1500's are some badass amplifiers, and I'm very impressed with them. Thanks for making great amps Jacob, appreciate it.

This weekend i wanted to see what the Lb Moab XxX 15" would do in a Street beat boxx.. 149.3db @ 44Hz was thats 1 sub w/ 6000watts rms / 7cf box ported to 36Hz

about to build a box for a 99 s10 ext cab, single 15 nightshade. what size box should i build. i have designed a box right now that is... net air space 4.72ft3. port area 65.25 in2. @31.85 hz will this be ok?

Probably won't have any time to put them in for another couple weeks, but just wanted some info. What crossover point should I use for the woofers to protect them from too much power? Right now my SAX 50.4 needs repair, so I'm gonna be using an old ADS PQ 10 bridged to run them, so probably around 60-80 watts per channel, so shouldn't be too large an issue with that. But when I get my Sundown amp back, I thought I would run that bridged, which would give them what, about 160 watts/channel? I've seen Jacob mention he's been running his off two channels of a 200.4, so I assume that's 200/channel? So what crossover point is recommended, and higher with a shallow slope,…

I was wondering what the difference between the older 3000D and the New 3000D? Besides the casing.. Can the older 3000D be okay at .5 Ohm?

I have the saz-1200 on a fi sp4-15 dual 2 for right now. Was wanting to know if strapping 2 saz-1200's to the sub wired @ 1 ohm would work out well??

This SAZ-1500D was shipped out for testing purposes and then shipped back to Sundown Audio afterwards. It looks pretty much brand new, although it is used so it has some finger prints and whatnot on it. This amp will be covered by full warranty from the date of purcase. $425 shipped in the continental 48 states via paypal

Purchased two D2 SA-12's about 6 months ago or so. The guy I bought them from bought them in Jan or Feb this year (2010) and they were re-coned with aluminum coils. I've just recently got a new amp and had everything completed then one crapped out on me. One coil is reading 2ohms, the other is around 2.8 and fluctuates. I'm just really disappointed this happen as I never put too much power them then, could it just be a result of a bad recone in the past? I'd like to get this back up and running asap.
