I have been running my 1500d for about a month now. It was working perfectly until about 3 days ago. I hadnt been in the truck or anything for 2 days, and then i go and get in it and as im driving the subs are making a popping noise. I have been trying to figure out what the problem is, and i dont think it is any of my wiring. I have figured out that the popping only happens when the amp is shook or tapped on or of course the truck bounces or something while im driving. The amp works fine except for when this happens, which is frequently. Im thinking it might possibly be something loose in the amp or something. Let me know if you have a possible solution.

I haven't been able to find a good post detailing the differences and improvements between the V1 and V1.5 SA8. If Jacob or someone else that knows could post up I'd appreciate it. Also is the motor the same on all SA8 v1/v1.5? I've seen two different basket styles. Can they be run together? I'm getting some old SA8 v1 motors and need some info. I've emailed Jacob as well, so if I get info from him I'll post it here.

Finally did some real testing on the KIA last night. I actually did a 149.2 sealed, but forgot to take a pic of it. This was done at 45 Hz and a little over 2600 watts clamped total for both amps. Amps are wired @ 1 ohm each rising to 3 ohms. All settings on deck were flat, and loud button off. Cone rise is killing my power and score. Need dual 2 ohm subs bad. Crazy thing is truck and box are same frequency. Also did a hard core run and the score was a 150.8. Here is a pic of the Term Lab Score.

so i was tunin my amp for my 12" Q. and i wanted to use as little bass boost as normal on the amp. but even if i maxed out the gains, set my LPF around 80hz, and turned down my bass boost to 0db. i was only puttin out about 17 volts (if i remember correctly i did it early this morning). i know it was below 20.. and i needed about 31.6 volts. is this normal? i used 50hz tone when i had no BB, and when i used it, i used a 60hz tone. the only way i was able to reach my needed volts, was when my gains are just over 3/4 set, and my bass boost is about the same spot, 15-17db. but is that about normal? would it be better if i maxed out the bass boost and compensated with my gai…

Went to AudioThunder in Niagra Falls new york with some small changes to the vehicle. Terrible drive up due to conditions outside but well worth it! Eclipse is doing 154's a lot more often now that I strengthened somethings in the rear hatch and removed the spoiler that was leaking some air. 2nd in the preliminary (saturday) 1st place in the finals for bass race (sunday) Should get a 55+ out of it charged. Will try and get a vid of that up soon. Here are some videos I took from the show. Amps are still running excellent at .5 ohms Jake! so ive just finished building my 2nd box for these, and still not satisfied. ive done subs forward, port up in middle, but the box made me move my seat to close to the steering wheel it was 6 cubes 80sq inches of port, and i think there wasn't enough port area. sounded good though. my new box is subs up, port up (drivers side) 6 cubes, 94 sq inches of port. both box's tuned to 32 hz, so im looking to for help on something will i will be happy with, im not looking for numbers, just something that gets low and hella loud at it. my truck is a 99 s10 ext cab. do i need a bigger box for such low tuning? higher tuning? i play a lot of low 30-35 hz songs when i have it full ti…

which way should i go. i have 16 mids for the MINI. all 8 ohm. 8 per door. they will be wired in pairs of 4, in parallel, making each set of 4 mids a 2 ohm load. so its either 2 100.2s, with 8 mids per amp (basically 1 amp per door) running each channel at 2 ohms or 1 100.4, running 4 mids per channel, at 2 ohms. the 100.2 is rated 200 x 2 @ 2 ohms the 100.4 is rated 160 x 2 @ 2 ohms i know the 100.2 is supposedly a little more underrated than the 100.4 is, but i found a good deal (IMO) on 2 100.2s, bnib for 370 shipped. what do you guys think?

I just want to say thank you to Jacob at Sundown with all the help he has given me. I purchased an SAE-1200v1 from a person on another forum, and as soon as I hooked the amp up it went into protection. I checked my wiring, and even hooked up another amp, which worked fine, but the Sundown just kept going into protection. This was on a Sunday, and Monday morning I sent Jacob an email asking if there was a remedy to my problem. Of course, I had no documentation for the amp in question, so Jacob offered to send me either a new 1200v2 or a 1500, both for a very nominal upgrade fee. I jumped on the chance to get the 1500. (It is probably way more power than my single 10 …

I've had this guy for a while but it seems I never posted up about it. Here are some photos of it -- tests out very similar to the SAX-1200D in power but is in our new narrow casing with a new layout. Pre-order coming soon along with 2500D v.2 and 3500D v.2 models... ETA by end of January 2013. * Much smaller than SAZ-1500D

Specs are per 8 subs 1/2 of the box, I used bb6 to calculate a box prism w/ a truncated edge, and basically doubled it and put both sides on top one another. Fb is actually the f3 on the picture, and the calculated fb for three 34" long 2"x10.58" ports @ 2.392 cubes is 45.26, but I did not take into account the flared aspect of the alligator mouth style of this box, but added it's length to the port length...so it kinda is a mystery.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and give advice! Currently I have 2 SA-12D4's in my car, each ran by a separate MTX 1501d amp. Each sub should be getting about 750 watts at 2 ohms, and is in a 1.75 ^ft ish ported box each (or atleast close). I started with the pair of subs and 1 amp before before adding on the second amp. Here is my issue. These amps can handle 1 ohm loads and is currently seeing 2; thus the subs are not getting the power they deserve. I am torn between 2 thoughts I'm hoping you can help me out with. Should I replace my 2 current sa-12d4's with the 2 ohm models and really push them, or would I be better off buying 2 more 4 ohm models and addin…

I am picking up 3 SA8 motors and would like get some baskets and recones for them. I'm wondering what my options are, since I've seen v1 and v1.5. I'll be running these off an saz-1500d in a town car with a 240 amp alt, deka starting battery, deka 9a31 in the trunk, big 3, 1/0 wiring throughout etc... I want to wire these to .66 and want to know how big of a box I should go with and how much port area I need. This will be a daily driver, and will be turned down most of the time. I was thinking 2 cu ft net tuned to 34 with 30-35 sq in of port area. I looked in another thread and the recones were listed as $32 and baskets were $10, let me know if those prices are still goo…
