T'm trying to find the right amp for these im stuck between the 125.2 and the 100.4. can i run those passive? ive never set a front stage up so ive been trying to find the differences between passive and active, can anyone explain or give me a link to read on this? i only have a minor understanding but want to learn! i looked on the 12volt but couldnt find anything, maybe i just cant find the right stuff i want? i would prefer the easier setup because of my inexperience, so im thinking passive on a 125.2, would that work and sound good? the porblems i can think of for active is if i got the 100.4 would that give too much to the tweeters, or would i be able to tune it d…

  2. So I just got my SAE-1200D in the mail and installed it. Im pretty sure I installed everything correctly. This is far from my first time wiring an amp. The issue I had was that I couldn't get any sound from the subs so I started trouble shooting. I had good power, ground and remote cause the little green light was coming on, I checked my wiring for the subs and everything checked out there so I figured the problem must be in the RCAs. I check the HU to make sure the subs were turned on and they were. I broke out a new set of RCAs and ran them unimpeded to the amp and still got nothing. Then i decided to move the connection from the INPUT to the OUTPUT and voila, I got m…

Is there anyway to achieve bandpass filtering???? For example if I am running a pair of MLI65's and I want to restrict them to frequencies between 70Hz-2.5kHz, is that possible with this amp or any other 4-channel? Thanks

Recently getting involved with Sundown as a dealer in Florida, I sold my entire JL setup and switched to Sundown amps and subs. Jacob worked hand in hand with finding a good fit for my small BMW 318i. I installed 2 Sundown SA 12" subs on a Sundown 1500 Watt Amp. They are wired to 1ohm and run extremely well. The ported box is tuned to about 34hz, and i am very pleased with how the subs are responding. These subs will blow so many other setups out of the water! I am proud to say more amps will be going into my car and I look forward to selling a quality product! Kevin

Would running the SAX amps at 2 Ohms potentially hurt the amps in the long run like other amps? Im looking to run a sundown to a set of Infinity 680.7cs speakers. Anyone every use these amps as well?

Decided to get a professional box made by my friend who is a master installer... since i am no fabricator. What is the recommend port dimensions for these subs? I emailed jacob but I figured I'd post here. Would like to get started on it today. Should I do 2 seperate chambers? 2 ports , 1 with each sub.

So... I've been suffering with horrible front speakers ever since I sold my BMW 325i a few years back. Due to the nature of the audio business I have been implementing SPL system in my Jeep (the whole reason I got it) and neglecting the front stage. NO MORE! Finally something decent... Ok, so I'm going complete Sundown in my setup. And I am excited to receive the order. However, being more business savy then with certain car audio things.... I need some community help! I had no problem actually constructing a sealed box, however these 12's need to go ported, and after trying to use a few different port calculators I am lost. We all have our areas . Can someone please design a box for me? I will post the dimensions it needs to be shortly! Thank you very much Kevin

so i was thinking of 2 saz-3000d as well as the 100.4... this is for daily ... if i have it strapped for 1 ohm (each amp at .5 ohm) and i tune it with an oscilloscope is this still a bad idea? ... wouldnt the nominal resisitance rise up to over 1 ohm anyway so it would be safe? ... what do you recommend as far as total aH (jake i forgot what you said lol) and how many strands of 1/0 will suffice to the rear (approx 15 ft from front to back battery bank)?

wierd ? i have a saz 1500d and was wondering, if i smell a woofer going up in smoke should i be shutting it down to prevent dmg to my amps ? or am i ok to just let it go up in smoke and push it harder untill it goes all the way . i know about the protection built into the amps but that doesn't allways mean that i'd be ok. if it is considered ok to smoke subs without dammaging the amp, could you safely burn sub after sub after sub and still be ok. would love to here jakes take on this too. i would never even consider this with any other amp, but these sundown amps are soooo darn tough that it dawned on me it might be posible. how about you guys at comps, when you blow sub…

Jacob recommend I throw 2 12 SA D4's in my 3 series BMW, and I am going to place the order, but what should i use to power them? Should i just get 1 amp (1500) or get two 1000's. The amp is going to be a sundown model so that's what we are working with.

I've been havin to measure a few amp's outputs recently to measure wattage output and actual resistance at a given note for competition. All the amp's i've ever tested, i always have the user keep it at the same volume level for several seconds so i can get an average voltage and amperage reading sinec these numbers always fluctuate due to resistance changing and voltage dropping... Well, i had the opportunity to measure a sundown SAZ-3000D over the weekend.. and i've NEVER seen an amp remain constant throughout the whole test! This guy's setup was given rise to 4.06 ohms and metering 1273w! That's pretty damn good considering it's only rated for 800w @4ohm. Anyways, i w…

This is the first time I've used a remote gain, so sorry if I'm just being stupid. Anyway, I just got it installed and have my gain on the amp set about half way. Now every time I start to turn the remote gain, I get a pop from my subs. Why is this happening? Is it my ground? If so, I'm not sure how I could make it any better. The ground is secured to the chasis and I sandpaper'd the area where the ground makes contact. I'm also using brass screws/bolts to secure it. I'm just a little confused here.

Hi all, I've read here and there not to use the bass boost( because of clipping signal?). But, if it is so bad, why do we have it on the Sundown amps like my saz 1000 D ? How and when to use it? Mine is still set to the minimum, and my 15" Icon seems to love it:)!

i wonder if the SAZ-1000D would be a good amp for midbass at the moment i'm running a 100.4 for mids/highs and the 125.2 for the midbass now i wanna get 8 (4 in each door) SPL Dynamics HF6.1 for midbass, but i don't think the 125.2 will have enough power for 4 per channel so i thought about going with 2 SAZ-1000D anyone tried them for mids yet?
