Well I am in love with my audio setup which consists of a 1500, 100.2, fi 18" Q, and CDT special editions up front. I have only burped her a few times around 3/4 volume and have never had any issues. Today I was playing the system about 2/3 and noticed that I started having voltage drop pretty bad but before I never had any electrical issues, my guess here is that the battery is struggling now with the demand (brand new red top). I have all 0 gauge wiring up to a dist. block with 2 foot runs of 4 gauge. I do not have the big 3 done yet and is on my to do list which brings me to my question: What else can I do besides the big three that isnt over the top for this setup? I …

10" diameter slugs, triple stacked. The pole flare is a bit shallower and narrower than I wanted... but we'll see how it does with testing. I have the coils, spiders, cones, etc waiting for it here! Picture is from the factory, it's on the way to me soon Not showing the other side of the motor yet, sorry guys! And before anyone asks... no ETA on production, I still haven't tested this prototype yet!

This is a Nightshade w/ cooling and 50mm WW 8-layer coil with a prototype cone we are testing. Coil is Dual-1 configuration. It includes the latest bolted down spider upgrade and utilizes a 3-layer spider. $400 for this prototype, shipped in continental 48 - there is only one like it right now.

I have started development on our Z v.3 woofer -- it is designed to increase thermal capacity a bit from the v.2 and also to be available for a lower price. We are outsourcing the build to our build house that we use for the SA series... BUT we are shipping USA made coils from Precision Econowind over to be used in them The advantage of USA coils ? The Z v.3 passed a 1500-watt 60 Hz sine wave test for 5 minutes with a Chinese coil... but they only take 300 degrees! Well... American coils take 500 degrees! So think that over a bit We are talking 66% higher temperature handling and the speaker already passed the thermal test with the lower temperature coil. Trade offs vs.…

SAE-1500D Prototype - $200 shipped in the continental USA SOLD to fuzzyping! The heatsink on the prototype is not the heatsink that will be used for production and is one of two prototypes made in this case. This prototype does not make full rated power, but is good for around 1000 watts RMS @ 12.8 volts / 1200 watts RMS @ 14.4 volts into a 1 ohm load per my testing. The next revision of this prototype is under construction and will address the low power output as production models will easily meet their 1500 watt rating @ 13.8 volts (as all SAE amps are to be rated). This unit has 4 awg input terminals and 3x 40 amp fuses. ------ Unnamed Prototype - $250 shipped in the…

I am very curious to hear what you have to say about buying this box - https://www.woofersetc.com/p-7421-sqp15spl-ground-shaker-15-single-ported-high-spl-box.aspx It would be going with a Sundown nightshade. The 4.2 cu ft. seem good and the box looks nice to me. I know building one will be a little cheaper but it probably wont come out as nice and would save me the headache of building one myself. But if you recommended that I just build one myself then that's what ill do. I emailed them asking what the tuning is so if its not around 33hz then obviously wont get. Also its not double baffled so idk if it will be strong enough for 2500 watts. Theirs also this http://cgi.eba…

Hey everyone, newbie member here. I was told to look into Sundown subwoofers by people that actually know what they're talking about in car audio - they said these things are good stuff. Value priced and high quality, and from what I hear the manufacturer is a real solid guy. My question is, how loud and clear are these things? I need some low end for the Polk Momo system I have in my Buick LeSabre, and after shopping around speaker brands I decided this was the way to go. But I don't want anything obnoxious, and I don't want anything that is going to require a huge box and big, conspicious amp. My big thing is keeping a clean, stock(ish) look with this system. That …

My box turned out to be a tad bigger then i wanted it too. But it's right around 6.92 cubes after sub displacement. It will be mainly for street beat/bass race/daily. Amp is an IA 40.1 @ .7ohm. My question is how many 6" aero's should i use? I have 3 total but was wondering if 3 6's would be too much..

Hi all, I have a JBL GTO 1201.1 ii amplifier, I used to own two RE Audio SEX 12" subwoofers but the cheap tinsel leads snapped; I had heard nothing but great things about sundown so I opted for the X-15! I wanted to know if anyone has used the JBL GTO 1201.1 before, and if you think it would sufficiently power the X15. I know the X15 asks for 1200w rms, the JBL only pushes ~1100w rms if I recall correctly. Is this a problem? Another question, I had the two RE's in an L-Port 4.0cu @ 32hz- given the power of my amplifier do you think the single X15 in the correct enclosure will be just as loud? Thanks in advance!

My father is considering this driver. I want to know if you guys think it fits the bill for him.His system consists of the following. HU- Kenwood....Soon to be replaced by an Alpine 9887 Amps- Front stage- US acoustics Usa 2100 running a pair of Alpine SPX-17REF in well sealed and dampened doors. Sub amp - Us acoustics Usa-2150 The sub amp does 500 watts at 4 ohms. I'm sure it's a little underrated. How much not sure. My guess would be 550. He listens to almost every type of music except hard core rap.....He can't stand it. BTW....The vehichle is an 04 Explorer. Will the SA-12 be what he needs? Does he have enough power to get good sound from it? He is also stuck betwee…

This might be a dumb question but I'll go ahead and ask. I was tuning my 1200d for the first itme this morning and before I could reach the 35v suggested voltage with the DMM, the amp started making a faint popping, buzzing sound. My target volume is 21/35 and the noise appeared at about 13/35. The noise went away as I turned it down. I'm running 1/0 gauge from front to db block and a run of 4 ga for 5' to the amp. BTW, no db gain was used and the remote gain was at 1/2 with susbsonic set a 28hz a x-over set at 1/2 as stated in manual. Anyone experience this before?

im about to get a 15" Fi BTL fully loaded with cooling, 3rd magnet, and HiXmax coil. I want to get a dual 1 ohm and run it with a SAZ1500 at .5 ohm. from several people though i hear its actually at like .7 ohm because the coils have an impedance rise at .5, correct me if im wrong. But to back it up i plan on doing the big 3 with 0 awg, then a new 160 amp alt (upgrading from the stock 70 amp one), then i want to get a kinetik 16V with a run of 0 awg to the amp or would be better off going a 12V 2400? just please tell me how safe this would be since i know .5 isnt covered under warranty anymore. or would i just better off all together just getting a dual 2 and running it a…

Are the Sub Out RCA's controlled by the subsonic filter built in the amp? Or are they purely non adjustable pass throughs? Thanks

Currently, I have a Memphis Mojo 4kw amp with 2 odyssey 2150 batteries + stock in a Hummer H2. I have already had to send in my amp to get fixed previously and I am trying to avoid that again. I was thinking about selling it off and buying a SAZ-3000D but I was wondering how hot they run because the only spot in my truck to mount the amp is directly behind the seat on the box which leaves about 1 inch of clearance for heat to escape. Also, the alternator is stock but I have not dropped below 12 volts at full tilt so I was wondering the output of the saz-3000d at 12v because I know the Mojo is not giving me anywhere near 4000.
