I know that they offer the SD1 and SD1v.2 and that they are coming out with the nightshade but the SD1v.2 is too small for me, does not take enough power and the nightshade takes plenty of power but it appears to be geared towards full blown SPL, correct me if I'm wrong. I was wondering if there are going to be any subs to fill the gap between these woofers, a good daily driving sub that can take a good 2-2.5kw RMS. I was also wondering about the amps. I know that the 1500 will do around 2kw and the 3000 will do around 3.5-4kw. However I was wondering if there are going to be any amps that do in between, maybe a SAE-2000 or 2500. Let me know any info thank you.

Building a pair right now... on that note - I really do not plan to make any more of these until I get the spiders I'm designing for 10s as it is a bit of a pain in the butt to make these! In any event - someone talked me into making them a pair so here are a few pics :

I know this has probably been answered before, but the search bar is pretty much useless on this forum. So if I can keep my electrical system from dropping below 13.0-13.5 volts, how will the saz take the .5 ohm load?

ok here it is i have a goliath that im sick of! allways at the shop. i have 2 15 FI audio fully loaded bl's with the daily option the box is 6 cubic ft vented at 33hrz 0.70 ohms at the amp a 200 amp alt, 3 yellow tops and 0 gauge althe way around the way i see it is i can get a 1500 watt.. and it should push these subs well,,, and if not.. ill buy a second 1500, and strap them to get more power, or i can get a 3000 watt.. and be in the same boat as i am now, relying on the one amp, and then if it breaks i got nothing until the repair is done but will the 1500 indeed push these subs alone, just one?…

All I can say is wow. No exclamation points. No Caps. They would not do it justice. I have no numbers regarding SPL as am not sure where I would go nearby. I have not swapped out the interior speakers yet but did hook all of the factory speakers to a RF 500a2. I ran a positive and negative cable run of 1/0 Knuconceptz Kolossus cable. As temp power I ran two 4 gauge cables to the positive of the amp and a 1/0 ground. Alpine cda 9884 cd receiver and the Alpine RUX-C701/PXA-H701 controller processor combo. The sub is in a ported enclosure kinda on the large side. 3.6 cubic feet tuned to between 35-40 hertz. Not quite sure as I need to do a little more to finish the box and w…

10,320 watts from my pair @ 1.5 ohms each actual impedance after rise, starting at 0.5 DCR 5160 each 17.9 volts rest - did not measure voltage drop yet This is similar to what I got from the 3000s at a rise to ~1 ohm or below Will post more when I get more results.

Fully tested down to 1/2 ohm each. Both were mounted and used and show a few signs of use on the mounting feet and near the speaker connections. Both come with remotes but no manuals, you can download the manual here: http://www.sundownaudio.com/products/SAX-1...manual_0607.pdf The white dot in the picture is from the flash and is not a mark on the amp. $475 shipped each or $900 shipped for both. They come with the full warranty from date of purchase.

  11. I have read/searched quite a few posts and I am a little confused as to which subs Sundown is currently offering for sale. I know about the Nightshades, but what else is currently available for sale? If you could do a simple list it would be appreciated. Thanks, Toolmaker

so my 2-SAZ2000's will be hidden under my sub box as soon in this pic here: . so as you can see i will have no access to my gains to fine adjust them! so then i thought well if i max them out AND plug in the remote gain knob and follow my ears for clipping and bottoming out and such, all the while using the gain knob now will this work? did i over or under think this? did i miss something? like is it bad to turn up the gains all the way then use the remote to turn them down(control them) i assume what i want to do will work but i just wnat to double check b/c once everything is in lol i don't want to take it out just move the gains an 1/8 of an inch down or up if you k…

I am in need of a 8" sub that works well in a very small, sealed enclosure. I came across the E8v2 Sundown sub, and it looks promising. I wanted to get some insight/experience from people in the know. Space is at a premium in my vehicle. I have around .3 to .35 ft3 to work with. I would like for it to have good SQ with good output (I am aware that it's an 8", but I have heard some 8s with decent output in a sealed enclosure, so I know what to expect). I have not purchased an amp yet, but I plan to run 300-400 RMS to the sub. This will be going in an mid-sized suv. I plan to build a center console type enclosure that will fit in the second row. So, having said all this, do…

Went to a USACi comp in Marrerro, LA last night. Took 1st place with a 147.9db @38Hz Legal all sealed up on the dash. No camera with me so i'll post pics of the plaque when I get back home later tonight. I feel as if I could've gotten really close to the 150 mark but the amps kept going into protection. I got two SAZ-3000d strapped together on (4) Phoenix Gold Ti12d Elite subs. When I put a meter on my terminals I get a DC Resistance of 1.7 ~ 2.0 ohms which doesn't make any sence because the subs are dual 4ohms. Not sure why I sometimes get a resistance less than 2ohms. Each sub is series for an 8ohm load then all paralleled to one set of terminals which should be a …

Well first comp of the season yesterday, I was not really prepared, my resin on my box wasn't completely cured, I hadn't done any testing, my car looked like crap... but I went anyways. I hit low yesterday, but was having issues all day. Final run for head 2 head eliminations was a 139.1 in street A. Good enough for first place. Street B was won by TJ (goes by old/skool on termpro) with a 151. something. Street C was won by my friend Matt in his ford festiva with a 138.6. Bob the guy with the blue van and all the t3 woofers was there doing mid 60's all day, it was impressive. Bassrace, I came in third in the 139 class, I wanted to be in the 129 class but qualified with…

Little FYI for those looking for really awesome fiberglass enclosures for, IMO, incredibly cheap prices: http://www.resinating-resin.com/products.htm I have the one that says "Sundown Audio" on it sitting at my shop... paint looks like auto paint - factory level quality. Very high quality enclosures. I know the owner personally, from before he moved back to Michigan. I'm sure he could even do them thicker for high SPL drivers (Nightshades) - although, it may not even be necessary... we'll be testing the box I got from him with Nightshades as soon as we get power wire in my Jeep.

The car is a 2008 Scion xB, the sub is in the rear cargo area in a 2cu ft ported enclosure tuned to 29hz (I will be updating my build thread with that info as well) Sub is on the drivers side facing the hatch port is on the passenger side facing the wall which was recommended to me and works VERY well. Okay, so I finally was able to buy some Sundown product!!! Well I bought an SD2-10 and a Sundown SAX100.4. I read on the forums that the recommended box size was .5 cu ft sealed. Upon installing I had my Dad build the box and he told me that with sealed bigger is better. I believe the dimensions of the box are as follows... Top Width - 18" Bottom Width - 23" Depth - 9.5" Height - 13" Now granted these are external dimensions and we used .75" MDF... I'm just curious is this box too big for the sub? I have the sub wired to a 4ohm load on the rear channels of the 100.4. Any input would be greatly appreciated

1: In the power connection section of the manual, it shows the amp connected directly to the battery; no fuse for the wire, just the 3 30 amp fuses on the amp, but there is a fuse in the wire in the 2000 and 3500 diagram. I know that the 2000 and 3500 do not have fuses of their own and therefore need the fuse in the power wire, but I did not know that there was no need to fuse the power wire for the 1000 and 1500... I have always been told to fuse the power wire no matter what, so this is new to me. 2: I have always been told by many reputable members of this forum that sundown rates their amps' output at 12.8v instead of 14.4. However, in the manual, it says that th…
