just did a 148.8 with 2 10's and 2 1500's. i'm looking into dynamat for my car but not sure if it will help. anyway's sundown FTW

We did an updated one today with an SA-15 never dropping power under 700 watts and even increasing to close to 1000 watts near the end : "My clamp meters weren't set quite right up until about 1:45 and we come online reading power at 838 watts (remember we have been seeing power for a while already this is just where I get a good reading)... at 2:45 dropped to 754, at 3:45 dropped to 725, at 4:45 dropped to 722, and at 5:45 dropped to 709 -- so here we are at about 40% over rated power on a sine wave with only 15% power drop over 4 solid minutes. will my saz-1000d xcon be ok powering my xcon? and when i wire to 1oh do i just put the + and - into the B speaker side?

This is Team Nemesis Jay's Magnum. It has a pair of Sundown NightShade 18"s powered by a pair of Sundown saz-3000s. This car loves screwed music and will play it all day long. The amps never get warm and the subs barely get a temp even after some hard beating. Here's a vid. The song playing is a screwed version of Gorilla Zoe - Waddle that peaks @ 31hz. I've heard some comments about NightShades not being able to play the lows. Well here's a reality check.

I have a Dual 3-ohm Subwoofer, which i plan on wiring in parallel for a 1.5 ohm load (actually measures 1.55 on digital multimeter). Could I use Two SAE-1000D Strapped with this load? One Saz-1500d would not be enough and 3000w would be to much.

All I can say is wow. No exclamation points. No Caps. They would not do it justice. I have no numbers regarding SPL as am not sure where I would go nearby. I have not swapped out the interior speakers yet but did hook all of the factory speakers to a RF 500a2. I ran a positive and negative cable run of 1/0 Knuconceptz Kolossus cable. As temp power I ran two 4 gauge cables to the positive of the amp and a 1/0 ground. Alpine cda 9884 cd receiver and the Alpine RUX-C701/PXA-H701 controller processor combo. Ordered 4 Sundown 3000D amps that were delivered Thursday. I will run them on a 16 volt system. Also what size alt and number of batteries to use. Should you use 8 volt batteries or 16 volt batteries. What are the advantage of each.

I know this has probably been answered before, but the search bar is pretty much useless on this forum. So if I can keep my electrical system from dropping below 13.0-13.5 volts, how will the saz take the .5 ohm load?

I havent seen these before, just ran into them on Youtube on Robins account the other night. Thought they were some pretty good flex vids. Ive been slackin, I got my 16v batts and alt in, now I just need to get it all in my car! Then Ill be loud. :fyi:

I have 2 1500d's, only one is in my car right now. I have an AA havoc 18d2 in the car as well. I am looking to add another 18 soon. My question is: will I get more efficency and power with both amps running seperately at 1 ohm a piece or running strapped at 2 ohms? I have factory electrical(110amp alt) for now, will be upgrading it soon as well. I just want to run the 2 18's without destroying anything in my car. Any help would be appreciated.

So I got the v.1 Nightshade up to 155.9 dB today on a 16v system -- right at 9.8kw clamped power. Used a slightly different coil but the cone / spider were the bone stock Nightshade parts... no pole plug of any kind used either. Not quite as good as the NS v.2 -- which did 156.1 on 12v on the same amps / same load... anxiously awaiting putting the v.2 in there on the 16v system I am hoping for 157+ from it ! Crappy pics of the sub... but I got the score : The coil is like the NS v.2 coil but only 50mm long... kind of a mix of the v.1 coil and the v.2 coil

I have read/searched quite a few posts and I am a little confused as to which subs Sundown is currently offering for sale. I know about the Nightshades, but what else is currently available for sale? If you could do a simple list it would be appreciated. Thanks, Toolmaker

i can hook my mids and highs up either 2 ohm stereo or 4 ohm bridged. Is either way more efficient than the other? Right now im just running all 4 channels regular, but next week when my other 6.5's get here i am changing it. thanks

Bolt down ring is done for the next production run that will be on it's way to me shortly. It sits on top of the spider insider of the top lip on the frame and bolts in from the back - this way the cone can't come down and smack the bolt heads.

Well, I noticed the 1st victim thread, so I figured I'd post up the 2nd victim of the strapped Sundowns here. Sub is a Mmats Juggernaut motor that was reconed by RE. It had about 10 burps on it, and 30 seconds on music, although it wasn't happy before the 30 seconds on music run. It was already rattling, but I figured I might as well take it out in style:

The Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 is a great amp to run both your front stage and sub stage. The amp has plenty of power for just about any component set and when bridged it is capable of beating the hell out of a pair of subs. In this setup the 100.4 is running a pair of Boston pro components and G110 subs like it is its job. I normally do not wire bass knobs but since we retained the factory head unit it wasn't such a bad idea.

How much distance between the bottom of magnet /pole vent on sa10 and the back of the enclosure is needed or recommended?
