Sundown Audio

  1. Started by Robert,

I stare at it for hours on end until my day will come to have this amp. I fantasize adding to the cart a few times a day lol but recently I notice it says basically out of stock. The year is quickly coming to an end and just want to know if there will be more to go around in the coming months? Again sorry if I missed my answer if its already up.

Okay I am buying my Christmas present a little early. I have a 1997 Toyota Camry. I use a Pioneer DVD H/U and I have 1/0 ga. KnuKonceptz wiring and I am looking at running the Sundown Audio SAZ-3000D on (2) 12" Fi Audio BL's with the cooling option. This will be a daily driver and I want to hunt down a JL Audio guy, will this do the trick? I listen to just about anything but I still have my DJ Magic Mike and Techmaster PEB CD's. I do have an additional battery in the trunk and upgrading the alternator won't be a problem. Please help!

Been working on an install for a guy and finally got to his front stage tonight. AA poly mids & CAL25 tweets running active off a 100.4 I spent about 5 minutes figuring out the dials, etc... and did a "best guess" for initial settings, then played some test tones to dial it in. I was SO close from the start and it only took about 30 minutes to get it all set up and sounding good. VERY nice amp for running active!!! Can't wait to strap the 1500D's to his sub tomorrow...

  5. Hey guys, I bought some E8s a long time ago and haven't had time to install them in a vehicle yet. I'm looking to build a ported box for two of them and was using a calculator online to help me figure out how big to make the port. The box is for two E8s (they displace .03 ft3 each right?) and I'm trying to build it so each sub gets .6 ft3 of airspace and the port is tuned to 30 hz (like the sundown website recommends). I can get the internal dimensions right at 1.2 ft3 (a little more actually to accommodate the displacement of the sub) but the port is only a 2"x2" square 8" long. Does that seem right? Could I make it 1"x4" rectangle or even .5"x8"? Or would that caus…

I just wanted to send a thanks to Sundown for sponsoring the car audio part of Carl Casper. I think the guys that used your equipment there represented you well. I just wish that you could have had some sort of booth to sell various merchandise.....shirts, stickers, order equipment or whatever .

I just recieved (1) 1500d v.1 and (1) 1500d v.2 last night. Looking at each of them they look exactly the same and I can not tell which is which. How can I tell? and can the two be strapped together? If not I still have another v.1 so no worries.

i can hook my mids and highs up either 2 ohm stereo or 4 ohm bridged. Is either way more efficient than the other? Right now im just running all 4 channels regular, but next week when my other 6.5's get here i am changing it. thanks

I bought a set of Sundown Audio Z-15's around december, sadly i never got them hooked up and now im movin out and i need the extra cash so i gotta sell em. Heres where my problem comes in. I need to ship these subs in order to sell them because the people intrested in them are out of state, one being in Oklahoma and they want around $250.00 to ship them. The price seems ridiculous to me. Does anybody know who will ship them from residence to residence for cheap? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

i wonder if the SAZ-1000D would be a good amp for midbass at the moment i'm running a 100.4 for mids/highs and the 125.2 for the midbass now i wanna get 8 (4 in each door) SPL Dynamics HF6.1 for midbass, but i don't think the 125.2 will have enough power for 4 per channel so i thought about going with 2 SAZ-1000D anyone tried them for mids yet?

I got a Saz-1000 in the wife's car runinng a Nightshade 15" V1 @ .05 . She does really well in Streetspl 600-1200 watt class (141.7 center of dash on music). There are a few people running the Aq-1200 and they give her a hard time and we where wondering if it would be a worth the extra money to go to the Sax-1200. We want to keep her in that class so we can't go with anything bigger then 1200 watts. And being a Team Sundown Member I'm not willing to put any else in her car but Sundown. Has anyone clamped the power of the 1200? Is there a a head to head test of the two?

  22. Well guys, after getting haggled so bad at the last FX comp, I decided I needed to do something different for this comp. A 140 is not sufficient for 2 12's and 2 1500D's. I had 3 issues I needed to fix... 1. I was running a single run of 4 ga for 2 1500D's...Obviously a HUGE bottleneck on the amps. Now have a run of 1/0 per 1500D. 2. I had a prefab box which we tossed in the Cavi trunk to hold us out for the day...chit box, will have a newly designed box for this one, maybe a version of "CRX style". 3. For some reason the final load on the subs last time was 3.5 ohms (dual 2 subs). We didnt have time to check it, so we put it in a let it go. Discovered that one of th…
