I have had single audiopulse axis dual 2 ohm sub wired to my sundown 3000 at 1 ohm. I was going to get a second sundown for my second axis. but recently testing the power and impedence rise charts with my wt3 woofer tester, i found that my impedence rise is going up to 3 with the single axis. so ive only gotten about 2000watts with lots of clipping. After i noticed that i put both axis's in a sealed box with them wired down to .5 ohms. i clamped it today and took an impedence curve and its raising to about 1.1 ohms now. i got about 2300 watts before my voltage dropped too low where i didnt want go continue, and no one was here to rev the engine. So this brings my questi…

This is a Nightshade w/ cooling and 50mm WW 8-layer coil with a prototype cone we are testing. Coil is Dual-1 configuration. It includes the latest bolted down spider upgrade and utilizes a 3-layer spider. $400 for this prototype, shipped in continental 48 - there is only one like it right now.

well went to a show today, and somehow only managed a 145.3 @ 36hz with the equipment in sig. I'm thinking it's in the enclosure. Can someone throw me some dimensions for an optimal box for these? I have plenty of room to work with so thats not an issue. I've seen posts where people are doin a 150+ with these subs and less power and still listening to it daily so i now a big number is in them, just need a different box.

hi all i have a sax 100.4 and a saz1500d ... i want to change my install a bit ... do something a bit more visually appealing now in the pics below ud see one of the amps " floating " in the center ... i want to do a symmetrical pair like that the lower board will have a small fan and it will have gaps in the board exposing the heatsink a bit so now my questions 1 : has anyone ever installed their sundown amps in an area with minimal ventilation and did it have any issues ? 2 : do you think the setup will have adequate cooling ? 3 : what improvements do u think i can make?

i am going to be running 2 12" Q's w/ bp power off of a sundown 2000 that i have preordered. i also plan on ordering a 100.4 sundown amp also for my 6.5" and 6x9's. i was looking at the knukonceptz dual amp 0 gauge wiring kit. what size inline fuse would i want and also the 2 fuses on the distribution block? also for the rca cables there are options for 4ch and 2ch. i am not sure of what i would need exactly. sorry for all the questions, i just want to try to get everything right the first time. thank you in advance.

at a local show. pretty good number with 4 1500's on 6 IA DR 12's. would of done a better number if i didn't start later in the song like i did. the end had a pause in it for about a sec and it wasnt a consistant note which dropped it more.

I decided to redo the gain setting on my saz3000 without using bass boost. Sub is audiopulse axis I started to set it using a DMM on ac volts along with an ac clamp meter first run gain was at min and i got 31.7 volts and 12.89 amps = 408 watts?? second run higher gain-- 79.8 V, 24 A = 1915 watts another higher gain-- 83.4 V, 25.3 A = 2110 watts another higher gain-- 84.8 V, 26 A = 2204 watts after that run the amp shut off. I checked how much more gain i had and i was amost max. so i turned off the amp, tried it again and i could see/hear clipping so i got confused 2204 watts and clipping, I got my WT3 woofer tester and did an impedence curve. My clamp meter has an AC …

here goes... i had an old speaker book... in the wiring diagrams it shows a "phantom" wiring series... it shows on a 2 channel amp.. 3 speakers ran and it stays at say 4 ohms... 2 speakers hooked up normaly, then the 3rd is left + and right - can the sundown roll like that?

I have four subs that the speaker leads burned through. What would cause this? Same amp ran all subs. They died at same time. Would amp putting out DC do this? Coils are fine. I am stumped.

Well im a big fan of Sundown and recently aquired a 3000D now im using one of the clasic Opti AMps and might be able to sell and was considdering saz 4 channel. Neetless to say if they keep doing what they are doing ill never buy a different branded Mono but my question is about the 4 ch Ill be using it to run active so crossover points not that important but being loud and sounding clean will be. It will be the older labeled model but it will still be un used. IDK if that makes any difference

Maybe I should run multiple smaller amps instead of 1 large amp. So instead of a 3000, maybe 2 1500's. I am liking the idea of it, more wiring options. What do yall think?

My current set up is (1) 15" nightshade off a 3000d @ 1 ohm. So 3000 watts daily. I know it handles the power easily, but with the warmer weather comin I am afraid I am going to hurt it because I like to ride windows down music up. Should I get the (2) 12"s or do you think I'm good with my current set up?Obviously (2) 12" subs would be more cone area than (1) 15" sub, so that alone would get me louder. I am mainly concerned about running 3000 watts to this sub to much and frying it!!

I have 2 SSA Icon 15s and wanted to know if I should get the 1000, 1200, or 1500. I read on here that it if I have a bigger box then I will need less power and also that the 1200 can out out as much power as the 1500 on a normal, daily, unstrapped setup. Would there be much of a audible difference if I use the 1000 rather than the 1200 or 1500? 2 SSA Icons 15s 8 cuft ported box tuned to 32hz **I know everyone will say 1500 but I m thinking about the price as well and would it be worth spending hundreds more for a little change. I was leaning towards the 1200 because of the power it can give out or the 1000 because I have a big box and need less power.

So banginAltima & I picked up his new pair of Sundown Audio z15"s yesterday. I feel so priveleged cause I got to test them out in my Explorer 1st. My box is a very basic 6ft net volume. Powered by a single Sundown saz-1500d it burped a 149.5 and hit 148.1 on music playing some Kanye West. We're gonna do some more testing tomorrow and see what they can do at different power levels. No doubt this will easily burp over a 150db on the saz-2000d which will be the perfect amp for a pair of these subs. No doubt I'm underpowering them with the saz-1500d. After a 30 second full tilt run on music they were still cold to the touch and it was 80* here today. There isn't e…
