Sundown Audio

If I wired 2 channels at 4 ohms and did not bridge the amp, would that cause any issues? Also should it still produce 100 watts RMS? J

So I hooked up my 100.4. I'm running 4 10 inch RE re's. I ran the subout rcas to the channels 1 and 2 and then ran 3 and 4 off the line outs. I'm using a dmm to tune the amp so I first put the 80hz 0db tone on at a low volume to set my low pass. speakers not hooked up and get all the way down. i stuck the dmm into the pos and neg of the channels 1 and 2 as if bridged. I got a reading of like .725V AC max and turned the low pass knob down until it started to change and figured that must be set at 80hz then. next I read each channel just to compare. they were .36 and .349V. Do you still have the sale on the 50.4 ? Can I take it to power my Focal 165KP? It may be cheaper than the 125.2, so I am interested to buy it instead of the 125.2. Or do you think it's really better to take the 2 channels? (I know I will not be able to have it shipped at $200, but I try, I would love to!!!).

Will they run on a 16 volt setup? I know that there would be no warranty but have to ask.

I was wanting to know on the amps, if you have to use both speaker channels or can you just use one channel. I'm running my 2 dual 4 ohm subs, wired to 1 ohm.

Well, after a couple of weeks of installing 4 of the new Nightshade 15 V.2's I've finally caused a little damage to my truck. Demoing last night on music my windshield came loose at the top of the cab. Everyone was saying my moulding was flopping around and when I poked my head out the side the window, they were right, I was losing air big time from the separation. The bad thing is today is the show and last night I was only at at half knob on the LC-1, I burp at full input signal on the LC-1. What is the displacement for an 18'' Nightshade? Couldnt find it on the site. Also, how much room behind the pole does it need to vent in the box? I was thinking a few inches is good?

Alright, my 2 amps came in. My kicker amps never had this many controls, so I'm going to need some help... How do I hookup the RCA's on the 1000D? Besides the gain, how should I set the other controls? Why are there 2 speaker terminals if it's a 1 channel amp? Which terminals do I use for a single dual 2 ohm sub? How do I hookup the RCA's on the 100.4? ...All the controls? The manuals say practically nothing. 1000D... 100.4... If you need a better picture of something please let me know.

unfortunately, after re-installing my car audio I found my sundown amp going into protect. It goes into protect immediately; the power light turns on about 1-2 secs later; 5 seconds later the two relays marked with a purple X close/open(click)...; unhooked from speaker; I found manufacture damages that were covered in glue, marked in black; red. In pink there is some rubbing damage to the winding; no metal caps blown; the plastic ones which the top may have some give; each one can depress at-least a mm or so. That's all I can tell visually. great. i have 2 8ohm mids in my car temporary for now until my door panels are done, and ive had numerous amps hooked to those same 2 mids with the same HU settings and all, and on any amp ive used (RF Punch amps, MTX, etc) the sundown 100.2 sounds the absolute cleanest, HU can be turned up alot higher (pioneer 880, usually keep it at 50 out of 62 max) and now, like 55-58 doesnt even distort when before 50 was the most i could go. great amp overall, im really glad i went with Sundown. :bigclap:

Finally after almost a year in the making, here is a clip of my setup in action. The port is in the middle so be aware there is noise in the video from all the air these 10's push out. The camera doesn't really pick up all the excursion very well either. I'm very intrested in getting 2 3000ds and this would be my first time ever using Sundown and I will be only person within 150miles of me that will be running Sundown and from browsing the forums I see lots of reviews saying they are well under-rated and they put out 3000+true rms @ 1ohm and 14.4volts. I have a damn good eletrical and I can keep my voltage at 14.36v to 14.48v at full tilt. So if anyone can tell me the actual power @ 1ohm and 14.4volts a 3000D can put out, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
