1: In the power connection section of the manual, it shows the amp connected directly to the battery; no fuse for the wire, just the 3 30 amp fuses on the amp, but there is a fuse in the wire in the 2000 and 3500 diagram. I know that the 2000 and 3500 do not have fuses of their own and therefore need the fuse in the power wire, but I did not know that there was no need to fuse the power wire for the 1000 and 1500... I have always been told to fuse the power wire no matter what, so this is new to me. 2: I have always been told by many reputable members of this forum that sundown rates their amps' output at 12.8v instead of 14.4. However, in the manual, it says that th…

We are holding a sale on the SAZ-1000D model for $275 shipped in the continental USA -- regular price is $315 each. Everyone knows what these bad boys can do! Here is a link to the specification page : Sundown Audio - SAZ-1000D Either contact your favorite online or local dealer or send me a Paypal to [email protected] to order ! This would make a GREAT combination with the close-out SAX-50.4 for a complete Sundown amp system for only $475 total.

What "bass knob" does the SAZ use? I REALLY like the one that came with my SAX-100.4 amp and would like to have the same kind for my SAZ. Anyone know?

I've had this guy for a while but it seems I never posted up about it. Here are some photos of it -- tests out very similar to the SAX-1200D in power but is in our new narrow casing with a new layout. Pre-order coming soon along with 2500D v.2 and 3500D v.2 models... ETA by end of January 2013. * Much smaller than SAZ-1500D

  10. Basically, I have just bought two (more) ReSponse 1500 watt amps, same board as the SAZ-1500. These amps are protection happy at 0.5ohm per amp, which puzzles me, as I have used two others in the past, (one borrowed, one mine) that happily played everything, wired at 0.5ohm daily... Does anyone have the schematic of the protection circuit in the sundown amp? so I can potentially compare values, or possibly someone can point me in the direction of what components may need to be changed? thanks!

well im bored and feel like writing a bit lol so i wanna say that this amp works great @ .35 ohms...im burping with it and it can take numerous burps without even getting hot, the volume doesnt have to be rolled cause it wont go to protection. I was doing 140-141 with it @ 1.4 ohms and when i lowered it to .35 my # goes up to 145-146. also the amp is pretty efficient @ .35, my volt goes down to 12.8 without recharging batts. also the amp can play music/bassrace fine with it...i bassraced a 139.6 with it(the damn bass ended 2 sec. before the run :S) , it also plays music fine, i played 3 full songs and THE amp took it like a champ...anyways im not telling everyone to go on…

right now i have 1 1500d that i havent even taken out of box yet. I was going to run 1 12" BL, but now i have traded vehicles. Now thinking of running 2 15's or 2 18s. Since i already have the 1 1500d, which would draw less current running 2 1500d's or just 1 3000d? I may just sale the 1500d just to make easier on the wiring. thanks

ANY AMPLIFIER SOLD AFTER MARCH 31st 2007 NO LONGER CARRIES 0.5 OHM WARRANTY COVERAGE. Full explanation is available in this thread: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7556 ---------- If you intend to run your SAZ-1500D at a 0.5 ohm nominal load please read this entire thread, especially the sections in bold near the bottom. To put it simply at the top... this is a warranty against damage NOT a guarantee that your setup will run without a hitch at 0.5 ohms all the time. I suggest that most consumers run a DCR not under 0.7 ohms for daily applications, and to reserve extremely low impedance use for competition. Read the full text for all details. ------…

I've had several problems lately with customers who has not hooked up the amps correctly when strapped due to confusion as to what the manual is saying. Hopefully these photos will answer your questions.

Hey guys, I'm new here.....thought I would come ask the experts. Well I recently purchased a barely used 1500D. Previously I ran an mrd-m501 for about 2 years to 2 12" R's, then I swapped it out for the saz, running it at 2 ohms. alls I did was swap the wires. the 1500D worked flawlessly for about 2 weeks, then all of a sudden today it got protection happy. my electrical is stock 105amp alt. stock batt. with 4 gauge wiring. It was fairly hot today, +35*C......so when it kicked into protection the 1st time I pulled over, checked the connections, turned it back on and it worked. the 2nd time it kicked into protect it wouldnt go back on I turned everything off except the a…

Here's the setup, a pair of Sundown Audio SAZ-1500d's strapped at 1 ohm. In the box used in the test (a single Funkin Audio MF12, dual 2), rise went from 1 ohm to 2 ohms during play. Here are the results: Notes: * Highest power on 16.0v rest was 4663 watts on 14.3v * Highest power on 16.5v rest was 5136 watts on 14.3v * Highest power on 17.9v rest was 5677 watts on 15.5v * 84% efficient on 15.0v and 180 amps of draw per amp There was a 10% increase in power starting 0.5v higher with an ending voltage being the same. There was another 10% increase when starting at 1.4v higher and ending 1.2v higher. This would tell me that a lowest voltage over 16.5v like…

  20. Ive got a SAZ-1500D hooked up to a Fi Q 18. It worked great for about 2 months, and all of a sudden the sub made a pop noise, and the amp went into protect mode. Since then, whenever you turn the amp on, the blue light will come on, and then a couple seconds later the sub just goes all the way down (pop noise), and then the amp almost immediately goes into protect mode. It will do this whether the speaker wires are hooked up or not. The local car audio shop told me i blew the amp, but i took the cover off and everything looked fine. anyone know whats going on?

I have to choose between the SAZ-1500d or a Audiopipe AP30001D. I know the build quality is better on the SAZ, but I believe I will get more output from the AP. My electrical is a stock 140 amp alternator in a dodge magnum and a extra battery (NSB90). I need to power a pair of Fi Q15's. Being unbiased, which amp would better suit my setup? I wanted to give the subs 1k watts each... I was used to 150+ because I was running 4 Q15's on an IA40.1, but now I am just going to run two, but want to lose as little output as possible. Oh yeah, the Q's are both dual 1 ohm w/ no extras. Thanks for your assistance.
