We did a really fun build this last few days with some great amps. Thought i'd throw a topic in this section incase the sundown guys didn't get a chance to see it. See the whole build here: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=24203 video:

Some of you have called and had a "new" guy answer in the last week -- Nick is now answering phones for part of the day here at Sundown. You can talk to him about most of your questions -- if he doesn't have the answer you can leave a message and Brandon or I can e-mail you back from the message but please at least leave a brief message for us. I am often not here @ the shop all the time now due to other projects so we are getting a bit more help around here!

Would an electrical system comprising of a 100A alt, two yellow tops, and 0/1 throughout support a 1500D @ .5 ohm?

  7. Hello Guys and Gals. Well, I finally converted to Sundown. Thanks to Sundown Audio's trade in program, I traded my two American Bass VFL-100.1 amplifiers and got a Sundown SAZ3000D Amplifier. This thing is a beast of an amplifier. I still have two American Bass VFL Extreme DVC 2 ohm 12 Subwoofers that are taking a pounding from the 3000D. Everybody says that I need to upgrade to 15" Nightshades. I hope to do that one day soon. I will probably have to get my 12's reconed soon with stiffer spiders and a better voice coil. I still need to do some fine tuning to my amp so I dont blow my 12's to shreds. With the testing done so far, I did a 147.8 sealed on the dash with weak b…

I built a sealed box for my E8V2 using the recommend cubic feet from the website of .25 and the sub just sounds restricted. Now I am gonna build a vented enclosure for the sub but lost on the port size. Every calculator that I use shows a 12" (w) x 2" (h) port being around 85" (L) tuned at 35hz with a volume of .6Vb. That just does not sound right to me, so where am i going wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

How safe is it if I was to run pair of BTL15D2's @ 0.5ohm with music? I'm only able to buy one amp at the moment. I will be getting another as soon as I can, then I'll strap them @ 2ohm I dont know much about calculating imp. rise or anything like that, nor do I have the tools. This is honestly the largest system that I've ever done. thanks. I will be doing electrical as well support the planned power. H/O alt if and when I can find one 3 or 4 Kinetik hc2000

I've been pretty quiet on here for a while now but I have to say a few words about Sundown and Jacob. I bought 6 - 3500D's and 3 - 125.2's over the course of last year. I never got them all at once but Jacob gave me discounts anyway even though I'm not a member of Team Sundown. Not to mention numerous stickers, t-shirts and a can cozy all for free. A few months back I had an issue with one of the 125.2's and asked Jacob what I should do. He suggested the normal "check your wiring and signal paths" which I did. I even took the amp out of the car and the problem still occurred on the bench. Jacob accepted it as a warranty repair but could not find anything wrong with …

  13. Well guys i decided since im making some money, which is pretty good for 16, im planning my electrical now so i'm prepared in a few weeks. Right now i currently have a sae-1000D and 100.4 bridged on a 3 way set of CDT HD's and a Fi Q. However, 2 weeks ago i purchased another Sae-1000D Proto #2 i believe since i got #1, and i plan on buying a 100.2 in a week or two to go active 3 way on the CDT's. However situation is that im not sure how my electrical will hold up. My electrical consists of this. 200 amp iraggi alt which is rated at 200 amps @ 1700 rpms and 120 @ idle (was told by Dom they conservatively rated and prob more like 215 - 130ish Big three with 1/0 Gauge KLM K…

Okay so I'm going with the Z12's v.2 and I'll be powering them with an SAZ-3500D, I have a design for a slot ported box similar to the one I have now for my SA-12's. My question is, the box for my SA-12's is tuned to around 30Hz, what should I tune the box for my Z12's to? Although I want to compete with the Z12's I may keep them in my car from time to time just as a daily driver.

I have a 2003 toyota tundra and I want 2 upgrade from (1) 18" btl and an orion 2500d - to - (2) saz-3000d's and (2) 18" btls. But toyota has a patent on the wire harness to the alternator! So I don't know if I can recharge a good sized power bank efficiently with the 130 amp stock alt.. Unless I get a solar panel on my roof! Will a red top optima batt. with 2 powermaster 3100 batt. be enough power for (2) 3000d's? I know i'll end up running through some alternators every year. I just want a daily driver but I still want full power potientail? Does any body know anything about upgrading toyota electrical systems?

Alright. I have the amps installed in my car. I have the Rca's wired properly for strapping. Now the speaker connections. I have both subs wired like this. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woof...mp;woofer_imp=3 Mine are wired for 2 ohms. I have one set of wires coming out of my box. Positive speaker wire is going to my Master amp. Negative wire is going to my slave amp. Do I have them wired properly or am I going to have to wire each speaker to each output on the amp? It just isn't getting loud. I have the output voltage set at 77.5 volts A/C. Could someone show me some pictures of how to wire 2 dual 2 ohm subs up in the strapped configuration? I know…
