Sundown Audio

Well, hi to everyone at sundown. From what I can find it seems that this amp isn't quite out yet? I currently have 2 memphis 4ks, and was about to buy 2 more, but I'm wondering if there is something better out there before investing memphis. There was mention of a pre-order of 3ks for ~900each, which if I could dump off the 4ks quick enough I would be interested in buying 4 of them if its beneficial. After reading the thread on testing it seems they put out close to 4k at 1ohm, 14.4v? Please correct me if I'm wrong. How safe is it if I was to run pair of BTL15D2's @ 0.5ohm with music? I'm only able to buy one amp at the moment. I will be getting another as soon as I can, then I'll strap them @ 2ohm I dont know much about calculating imp. rise or anything like that, nor do I have the tools. This is honestly the largest system that I've ever done. thanks. I will be doing electrical as well support the planned power. H/O alt if and when I can find one 3 or 4 Kinetik hc2000

Want to know if i can run this amp on stock alt with stock batt up front and a d3100 in the rear big 3 and one run of 1/0 to rear, will be running it at 1ohm, on a pair of Xcon 12's. Thanks

okay fellars, i got a SAZ 3000D and i am going to be getting a WMD2R 15", it is a dual 1ohm sub, it does 1500 rms. with ease from what i understand, i am thinking that i will run the amp at 2ohms. so it will be an easy relationship on both, i know i could wire to .5 ohm and the sub will take alot more wattage......but i figure this will be plenty. so my question is, with a 2 ohm load, what type of amprage should i have avaiable for my amp, like what size alt and battery combo,,,, i got the welding cable and plenty of it, so i got that part going on. thanks Chop.

I was wondering if I could run the SAZ-3000D daily @ .4DCR. Current system setup 4 DD 9515D2 18Cu.Ft. Box tunes @ 42Hz, 12 Kinetik 2400, 1 Kinetik 1800(Front Bat), Missing Link, DC Power Alt, Idle voltage 14.4 Idle amps 140, 2k RPM 275 amps, 14.4 Voltage. Just wanting to is if this would be ok.

Well, I asked around over on CA, & EVERYONE told me that these beasts could handle it. (w/ proper electrical, of course) Planned elec. as of now: (2) D3100s in back, 240A alt, stock bat. up front, "Big 3", 1/0 all the way around. So what is your opinions on this? Can it handle it? Also, I read that the new SAZ-1500Ds don't carry .5Ω warranty coverage. What about the 3000Ds? And if the amp some how does fail do to this, what would it cost to get it repaired/replacement? (estimate) BTW, these will be powering (2) HDC315 alum. models.

Ok, I have a SAZ-3000D that i will be using on 3 dual 2 ohm aa havocs in a 6.2 cube enclosure tuned to 32hz. My question is, will this amp be enough power to push them to their potential? I have the big three done in 1/0, dual runs to the rear, 3x yellowtops in rear, redtop up front and mechman 270A alt. What kind of power can i expect from this setup out of this amp? I been thinking of upgrading to a saz-3500d, but is the trade off worth it? If i will only be gaining 200-300 wrms then ill just keep the 3000d. Feel free to chime in and give your feedback on this. Greetings Folks, I'm in the process of upgrading my setup to 2 RE Audio SX15's and I'm on the verge of crossing over into Sundown's territory by powering them with a SAZ-3000D. The amp will see a 2ohm load. I have no intentions of competing but I want to shake things up whenever I get the urge (usually when cops aren't present). Would this be an ideal amp for these subs as a daily driver? The subs are going in a 8 cube CRX box tuned to 34hz. The vehicle is a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. Thanks to all for your views/replies!!

I was playing my system today which consists of two SAZ-3000d's strapped together @2 ohms. I was messing with some settings in my HU and it was just slammin. All of a sudden it cuts off so I turn the system off and let it sit for a little bit. Turned it back on and it still doesn't play thought I blew the fuse. When I finally get home I check the amp and the slave amp goes into protect. I know that the link RCA sometimes causes problems but now whenever it turns on it immediately goes into protection. I tried disconnecting the link RCA and turn it on and still goes into protect. Right now I disconnected both power and ground to let it sit disconnected for a while…

I purchased my amplifier from Db-r, The day i got it i hooked it up it blew and started smoking. I sent it in to Db-R they fixed it; The guys at Db-R said the power input was soldered too long and it burnt up and smoked my power supply. They replaced everything under warranty. Today (12/25/09) I opened my Saz-3000d and was just looking around at Sundown's beautiful job at designing/making amplifiers and found this. as you can see the MOSFET's most are soldered in on the top, but there are a few that are not. Is this something to be worried about?

I was wondering how powerful are the sundown 3000D amps? I have a 91 Acura Integra, and im working on a system with a Fi BTL 18" tuned to 33hz... I was gonna get the RF T20001bd to run it, but then I ran across sundown, and honestly, I don't know too much about them, but im reading good things..... So now im in a toss up here.... I know the T series fosgates are under rated, but I need peoples honest opinion here.... do you think I could get a lil more out of the 3000D than the RF T2K? How well you think that 3000d will move that BTL? I F'N hate decisions!!! haha Help me decide please, Thanks.... John

Ok guys what you think two sundown SAZ 3000s with either FI BTLs or the MTX 9500s? i have both sets with size being 12s. i was wondering cause im going to start on a new box? Im looking for SPL but also SQ for daily driving.

Im thinking bout picking one of these up for my daily Warden set-up. Wanted to see what tests have shown in a standard 12/14.4 volt set-up, id be wiring to .5 ohm.

My (2) SAZ-3500 get hot, really hot. Is this common in this amplifier? My Voltage stays around 13.5 on full tilt, and sometimes it'll go to 12.7 on long continues bass notes when on full tilt, when not on full tilt it's 14's. I got a 320amp Alternator from DC and (4) XS Power D3100s as secondary batts. Thanks Jacob

I assume this is normal. Just curious what causes it to make a clicking noise when turning the amp on or off?

They are at the last hub before arriving to me -- the scheduling desk at the trucking company told me I will have them tomorrow. Should ship most if not all of the ones on order by Friday.
