Sundown Audio

Video Caption : Purposely tearing up an E-10 to demonstrate what it takes to do so. We are seeing *clamped* power of 50-100% of the woofers rating with NO BOX for 3-4 minutes straight in order to hurt the woofer. When using an amplifier rated for 400-500 RMS on these woofers in a day to day situation it will be EXTREMELY difficult to damage them. Again... this was intentional abuse -- any person hearing the type of mechanical noises we did in this testing would obviously turn it down =)

The 4.2 cu ft. seem good and the box looks nice to me. I know building one will be a little cheaper but it probably wont come out as nice and would save me the headache of building one myself. But if you recommended that I just build one myself then that's what ill do. I emailed them asking what the tuning is so if its not around 33hz then obviously wont get. great. i have 2 8ohm mids in my car temporary for now until my door panels are done, and ive had numerous amps hooked to those same 2 mids with the same HU settings and all, and on any amp ive used (RF Punch amps, MTX, etc) the sundown 100.2 sounds the absolute cleanest, HU can be turned up alot higher (pioneer 880, usually keep it at 50 out of 62 max) and now, like 55-58 doesnt even distort when before 50 was the most i could go. great amp overall, im really glad i went with Sundown. :bigclap:

Using Z15 cone / dust cap... 8-layer FW Dual-2 Coil @ 50mm WW... two hard nomex spiders w/ double leads. I am going to measure specs once the dust cap glue dries. Not for sale - just posting pics Made it for a customer.

ok running 4 1500's strapped @ .5 ohm each set or 2 3000's strapped @ 1ohm. what do you think? i'm leaning towards the 1500's!

I'm planning on running a pair of 100.4s to power my three-way front stage, one for tweeters and midrange, and one bridged for midbass duties. The drivers I've selected are all 8ohm. What kind of power should I expect from them running at 8ohm in this configuration?

Who has tested how much power these will take? Will they hold ~1500 watts a piece for around 30 seconds

well i use going to go with aq hdc3 18 but i love the way the z 15 look and i love sundown products. here the problem i dont know which set up would be better. i going to buy my subs on wensday and i dont know if u should get 2 z15's d4 and run them at one ohm to a saz3000d or i should i get 2 z15's d2 and run the at one ohm to each saz 1500d or should i just get another t10001bd and run each z15 d2 at one ohm to each t10001bd?

The bass knob for my SAE-1000D is really stiff and difficult to turn. I'm afraid that if I try to turn it it's going to rip the screws out of my cheap plastic dash. I have a Kicker bass knob that's much looser and easier to turn. Can I use the Kicker knob on my SAE-1000D?

when I first installed it, it got hot shortly after, not warm but hot. I though that was odd but left it alone. after of being in use for a few hours the next day it went into protection mode. I drove it to a near by shop, they checked it out and told me the amp was damaged, I did not bridged it, I hooked it up to a 10" sd-v1 (400rms) and I only used one channel so I have no idea what caused it to fail. I'm not sure if this amp was refurbished since I got it on sale? anyone know what I did wrong? Thank you.

I'll be headed out at 3:30 AM to start my CES / west coast trip. See you guys on the 14th when I get back. All of the rest of the crew will be at work until Tuesday evening; when a few of the other guys will join me from then for the rest of the week. They will be back on the 12th. Some of the crew will be at the shop the entire time, of course, we will not be closed completely.

I have a 2003 toyota tundra and I want 2 upgrade from (1) 18" btl and an orion 2500d - to - (2) saz-3000d's and (2) 18" btls. But toyota has a patent on the wire harness to the alternator! So I don't know if I can recharge a good sized power bank efficiently with the 130 amp stock alt.. Unless I get a solar panel on my roof! Will a red top optima batt. with 2 powermaster 3100 batt. be enough power for (2) 3000d's? I know i'll end up running through some alternators every year. I just want a daily driver but I still want full power potientail? Does any body know anything about upgrading toyota electrical systems?

So guys i am getting a recone on my 15 to a pair of 12's, the subs in question are the NS v1. my question is how many spiders does the NS v1 normally come with? i ask b/c i will be running 2-saz2500 strapped to the 2-12's and someone mentions to me maybe i should get another spider added to the 12's so they can handle the amount of power? so my question again is do i need or shoudl i get another spider added to each sub or no would stock be enough. i plan to do a daily/ burp car but primary a daily setup application. thanks for viewing my thread and any input! I'm going to be replacing my HiFonics BXi1606 with one of these amps...I currently have 0/1 guage running from the battery to a fused distro block that has (4) 4ga outputs...the length of the wire running from the fused distro block to the amp is about 12 inches...would it be okay to run 12 inches of 4ga to the power input of this amp?

Any pics or specs of a prototype yet?Will this have the same crossover section as the 100.4?If it does I will deff purchase one,as the 100.4 is a little too big for my mounting space.

I'll be making my new box shortly with 4 Sound Splinter Signature RL-p 12". All 4 are D4 ohm giving me a final load of 2ohms for the amp. I was wondering if I should maybe trade the sundown 3000 for 2 1500. This way I could run 2 subs at 1ohm to each 1500. I "think" my other option is to run the 3000 at .5 ohm, but I don't know if that's a smart thing to do. My electrical consist of a 200 amp alt, 2 yellow tops, 2 runs of + 0awg, and 2 runs of - 0awg. What are your thoughts? I'm kinda at a lost right now, lol.

Hello. Some of you may know me from other forums. I just thought i would stop by and show off some sundown power! Ive been running Sundown in my Comp/Project vehicle for around 7 months. I compete regularly for the most part locally. The vehicle has now been retired due to the fact that I cant damage it anymore then it already has been. lol Im going to trade it back in for something new. Until then i have a few vehicles that im looking at to make a new project with. I will compete with the vehicle as well. So time is critical.
