Sundown Audio

The bass knob for my SAE-1000D is really stiff and difficult to turn. I'm afraid that if I try to turn it it's going to rip the screws out of my cheap plastic dash. I have a Kicker bass knob that's much looser and easier to turn. Can I use the Kicker knob on my SAE-1000D?

I'm ready to play with the big boyz so i'm looking to get a second SD 3kd. So if anyone has one they will let go for 500 shipped let me know. I also need a Term lab. I'll do 450 shipped on that. Someone help me out. Got money now!!!!

in the sticky where they did a test this is what was read Power supply voltage was 16.5 volts at rest dropping to around 14.5 volts. So consider this a 14.5 volt output rating. Our clamp meter ran out of steam at 400 amps so we measured efficiency at lower levels: 3294 watts @ 84% efficiency (252 amps draw) 3938 watts @ 81% efficiency (316 amps draw) 4424 watts @ 74% efficiency (392 amps draw) here is my question and i want to get a better understanding of this so bear with me for a minute..lol 3294 watts with 252 amps draw..now lets say your running 2 of the 3k watt models which would be 504 amps draw? and if your alt is only a 300 amp alt how does that work? im sure i h…

Which sundown amp would be the best for a 18" Fi BL 1000rms sub?

what kind of drop should i be seeing from a pair of strapped 1500's @ 1 ohm for a burp? I'm using a nsb-90 with the car off. it goes from 13.8- low 11's. is this right? i'm going to start and run my car in the morning and see what the drop is!

Just curious about a few things. I will be doing 3 of them in a c pillar wall so i am curious about how far would i need to keep the subs surround away from the back seat? Also how much would it have mattered if i got these d2 ohm and have them wired at 1.35ohm powered by 2 AQ2200 strapped together?

We are seeing *clamped* power of 50-100% of the woofers rating with NO BOX for 3-4 minutes straight in order to hurt the woofer. When using an amplifier rated for 400-500 RMS on these woofers in a day to day situation it will be EXTREMELY difficult to damage them. Again... this was intentional abuse -- any person hearing the type of mechanical noises we did in this testing would obviously turn it down =)

Hey, Just wondering if I should look into getting another 1200 or 2 1500's in the future or a 3000 lol... I wanna hook up a 1200 to each BL but I was thinking what If I wanted a single BTL or Nightshade in the future 1200's can't be strapped... or shouldI just wait and cross that bridge when I get to it. Who has tested how much power these will take? Will they hold ~1500 watts a piece for around 30 seconds

Wanted to share my install with everyone on here because I have been reading your post and advice for a long time. Its a saz 1500 on two Kicker L7 10's in a sealed box internally fiberglassed for extra strength and also for better sound quality. Kicker was not my first choice of subs but its hard to find a 10 inch sub with shallow mount that can handle the 1500. Went forward firing because its the loudest application you can get in the titan and also because up or down firing limited mounting depth. Went through 4 brands of subs and swapped out a diamond audio d5 1200 for the Sundown before being happy not an easy truck to get great sound out of. Here are some pics.

Hi, i hope you unterstand what i mean with fm radio disturbtion.. I have a ssd 10 dual 2 in 1.4 cuft ported to 36hz and it needs more power than it has right at the moment. So i was thinking to buy a saz 1000d or the sale sae 1200d. I know shipping to germany will be expensive but i want to try sundown amps :-) But i wounder if these amps disturb the receiving of the fm signal, because i had a t20001 in my car an didnt virtually receive any station anymore... Can you help my a bit with my decision??

Ok guys i have a 100.4 and just got some new mids after old ones got replaced at cdt..... I want to know the best way to adjust your amps hpf and lpf? in this case my 100.4 hpf for my 3 way components..... i dont no if the vertical point in between both markings like 55 and 500 are exactly the average of the two. but id like to know how to set these filters fairly accurately... Hello all, My question is as follows: When utilizing the RCA output on an amp, such as the 125.2 or 50.4, how is the outputted signal affected by the crossover and gain settings of the amp it is coming from? For example, if I were to use a 50.4 to run tweeters and mid range, and then I wanted to utilize the RCA out of the 50.4 to connect a 125.2 which I would use to run mid-bass. Will the RCA out of the 50.4 only pass the higher frequency signals that it is set for to run the speakers connected to it, or will it simply pass the signal through that it is receiving from the head unit? I've just opened up the tummy of my amp and discovered that one of the coils or inductors are touching one of the fuse legs, is that anything to worry about? and uhhh hope i havnt just got rid of my warranty?? ehh.....prob doesnt matter anyway because it will be over a years time from purchase that i may actually use it lol... I'll post a pic in a sec!!

Any pics or specs of a prototype yet?Will this have the same crossover section as the 100.4?If it does I will deff purchase one,as the 100.4 is a little too big for my mounting space.

I'm seeing the sale, and I want to pick up another Sundown amp. I seriously don't need a new one right now, but those prices are just to good. I currently run the SAE-1000D to my Mag v3 and I'm happy with the little black amp. I see no reason to replace it. But I am curious, how different is the SAZ-1000D compared to the SAE-1000D? I read about the SAZ being more bulletproof than a SAE but, I'm don't really need to push my amps to their limits. Is the SAZ slightly underrated? (your 1200D amps comes to mind). Now I have 20 more days to decide.
