We still have them in stock after filling pre-orders. I also have more 12s and more 8s coming in 3 weeks or so.

As the title says, do the new SAX-100.2's have the new heatsink on them yet? I'm wondering because I already have a SAZ-1500D and a SAX-100.4 with the new heatsink and would like a matching SAX-100.2 to go with them.

Just a little tip - it may be easier to buy a new frame than try to get the bolt down ring off the SA-8 frame on the new ones. I do have frames in stock for them. Plus side... the spider will NOT be coming off any time soon if you don't want it to. Here is one we removed this morning : As you can imagine it didn't come off easily. It is glued under the spiders, bolted through the frame, and epoxied on top.

  4. Well, work started today on an install into the BMW. This is going to be a DC Audio/Sundown Audio demonstrator over here in the UK. The main thrust of todays work was to get the steel frame into position in the rear of the car, ready for the main woodwork to start going in tomorrow We have now got 5 runs of speaker cable down each side of the car, 2 0AWG ground, 2 x 0AWG power running down to the original chassis ground point and battery terminal. (the car has 1 x 0AWG run down from Alt to Battery as standard, may upgrade this if we fit a bigger alternator to it - 140 in there at the moment!), and 3 x RCA's going to the front.

Here is my situation. I am in the process of redoing my system and I am currently only running the Image Dynamics CTX65CS comp set up front. Next I plan on dropping a pair of Image Dynamics CX64 V.2 mid-bass speakers in my rear doors. Between the 50.4 and the 125.2, which do you think I can get the most performance out of? My thinking is that with the 50.4 I have more tuning options, and with the 125.2 I will have more power. Both sets of speakers are 4ohms. What do you think???? I know the 100.4 would be the better option, but I don't have the space to fit it nor do I want to spend that much more.

Ok I am runnign the single SD1v2 sealed in my MINI and it sounds great! I also have 4 more and was thinking about running them ported off of a 1000d or a 1200d in my wifes car or my 4runner. Any suggestions for a ported enclosure for 4 of them? I have 2 4" areo's to use, how much airspace for the set? Thanks all! David

Ok, should have my tax check here next friday...woot woot. I will be ordering 2 12" SA's and was wondering if this box and amp will work. Was getting a design done for 3.5cuft @ 30hz and will be running a Rockford Fosgate T1000.1 (the new mini black one) The amp says 1250 @ 1ohm I might upgrade the amp later...but this is what I have now. I know I will be using 2 4" aero ports (not sure on lenth..the designer is still designing, lol) Just curious as to what to expect. I had 2 JL w3 12s on this amp at 2ohms (800 watts) with a 3.5cuft @ 32hz box. They were in my former Explorer. I now have a 08 Civic SI coupe....just trying to get some comparisons. Or just an idea of wh…

  14. So I just got my SAE-1200D in the mail and installed it. Im pretty sure I installed everything correctly. This is far from my first time wiring an amp. The issue I had was that I couldn't get any sound from the subs so I started trouble shooting. I had good power, ground and remote cause the little green light was coming on, I checked my wiring for the subs and everything checked out there so I figured the problem must be in the RCAs. I check the HU to make sure the subs were turned on and they were. I broke out a new set of RCAs and ran them unimpeded to the amp and still got nothing. Then i decided to move the connection from the INPUT to the OUTPUT and voila, I got m…

I finally got around to a dry-run of my comps and amps last night. I must admit, the JBL P650c's sound every bit as good as I'd hoped. The Sundown 100.4 really makes them shine. But I've been thinking, isn't it a waste of the 100.4 to just drive the two front pairs? They run at 4 ohm, and I end up only using the first two channels of the amp. I also purchased a 100.2 to drive my RL-i8 DVC4, but I wonder if it wouldn't make more sense to swap amps and have the 100.2 driving the front stage and move the 100.4 to the sub? This would also fit much better (physically) into my vehicle, as the 100.4 peeks out from behind the driver's seat. Can anyone suggest the best scena…

I know most amps have to battle heat to stay running as my last amp use to operate well into the 150 degree range on a normal basis but I just have one question. Wheres the heat at on this SAE-1200D???? Ive been bumping hard for 3-4 hours straight and not even a sweat. I can touch it at the end of the night and the heatsinks drain the heat out of my body. How is this thing suppose to be a normal amp????

  17. So I hooked up my 100.4. I'm running 4 10 inch RE re's. I ran the subout rcas to the channels 1 and 2 and then ran 3 and 4 off the line outs. I'm using a dmm to tune the amp so I first put the 80hz 0db tone on at a low volume to set my low pass. speakers not hooked up and get all the way down. i stuck the dmm into the pos and neg of the channels 1 and 2 as if bridged. I got a reading of like .725V AC max and turned the low pass knob down until it started to change and figured that must be set at 80hz then. next I read each channel just to compare. they were .36 and .349V. That's fine. I then went on to do channels 3 and 4. It said like .2 something and so I thought the l…

"The ATO style fuses in the SAE-1000D are designed to handle roughly 130% of rated current for 10 minutes per the spec sheet for around 98 amps of handling, which at 14.4 volts is almost exactly 1000 watts at 75% efficiency. Since this is not an SPL competition amp I decided to go with 3x 25 amp fuses. The prototypes had 3x 30 amp fuses and I found that they would not blow even at a 1/2 ohm load for extended periods. I went with 3x 25 amp fuses to give a warning to inexperienced users when they wire the amp too low." Also posted in the FAQ thread: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7406 Item Number 4. I was seeing the question about fusing on several …

I've been havin to measure a few amp's outputs recently to measure wattage output and actual resistance at a given note for competition. All the amp's i've ever tested, i always have the user keep it at the same volume level for several seconds so i can get an average voltage and amperage reading sinec these numbers always fluctuate due to resistance changing and voltage dropping... Well, i had the opportunity to measure a sundown SAZ-3000D over the weekend.. and i've NEVER seen an amp remain constant throughout the whole test! This guy's setup was given rise to 4.06 ohms and metering 1273w! That's pretty damn good considering it's only rated for 800w @4ohm. Anyways, i w…
