mmk so the time has come for the teardown! as much as it hurts me to destroy my own work, i have to do it! Next year it will be MUCHHH better. so the first plan is to rebuild the box. the plan is to keep the back, bottom, and sides. but do away with the front. i will add about 10 inches or so to the top oof the box with a 1 1/2 baffle board with flushed FI SSD woofers. the batterys and MA Audio amps will be displayed on the front of the box and all flushed in..the box will be ported out the back and tuned to 33 hz for dailly. and there will be a romovable plate on the port to raise the frequency to around 44 for competitions. and finally the inside will be glassed. if yo…

So after a very long hiatus from this site, I wanted to post some updated pics of where Im at currently. Originally I started out with a couple pioneer shallow mounted subs, which were great. But always left me wondering what more I could get, so I found SSA and picked up a single 15" Xcon. I absolutely loved it. Except it was in a huge rear firing ported enclosure. Then I started having kids, and the need for my cargo space forced me back to a shallow mount option using two Sundown SD3 12"s. Again, this left me wondering "what more?". Anyways, after I bought my first Xcon I loved it so much I bought a second. But I just never had the opportunity, until now....8ft^3 …

Wished I had taken pics of during the construction of the box, but I didn't have my camera on hand. But it's your plain sealed box. Internal volume of .75 cu ft net. Hertz called for an insanely small .57 cubes sealed, but I was afraid the bottom octaves won't be as pronounced. So I ended up going with .75 cu ft. First some pics of the new sub for those who haven't seen it in my other thread. It's a Hertz Audio Hi-Energy 12. pretty nice and simple cone with the Hertz logo on the dustcap. bright ass orange magnet rubber boot. It's pretty simple looking....no huge surround or massive motor structure. This thing is tiny compared to my Brahma MKI 12. Flush mounted.…

Alright. It's time for a new build as I'm bored of my home theatre subwoofer. I already talked with Mark a bit and I'll be picking up 4 MJ-18s along with a Beringer EP-2500 amplifier. I'm thinking it will be made up of 5 pieces. (2) sub boxes, (2) speaker stands, and the main unit. The sub boxes will have 2 18"s each, and I'm probably going to go taller this time around and get it a bit skinnier. The speaker stands will hold one B&W DM 560 with the bottom of the speaker at 30". I believe at that height with our couches should be almost ideal. The main unit is going to hold out cable box, my Denon AVR-1707, the PS3, the PS2, the N64, the Beringer, my mini-fridge, and…

Here we go, starting the lightweight, simple install in the Miata First off some pictures of the car, keep in mind I was always too busy enjoying driving it to do anything else, like cleaning it Just after a wash, comparing it with a friend's Z3. Mock-up of the 7" tablet. Fits great in the scene Target for the entire system is under 30 lbs. That includes wiring, fiberglass, minimal deadening, speakers, amp, tablet and miniDSP.

I had started a big build last year that I had to end before it was finished. I did not have time to do all of the fiberglassing that I had planned, that's life. I had to have something installed in my car that wasn't going to take years to complete Next year I will be doing an extensive over haul of the current setup. I plan on having more time then, I hope. Some of these pics are from the previous build which I am still using part of. I have more pics to take but this is a start. Current install: HU: Kenwood something of another Front stage: DEI Viper 650.2 Rear fill: Stock Four channel amp: JL Audio XD400/4 Subwoofer: JL Audio 13W6 Subwoofer amp: JL Audio XD600/1 Syn…

Alright, I figure I'll get lots of things I did wrong pointed out, oh well. Bear in mind that this is my personal vehicle and it won't be my primary for more than a couple more years (if it lasts that long as many miles as I drive weekly). The goal is active 3 way from passive 2 way with a clean looking setup and of course, a new woofer (since the Quatro was only meant to be temporary). I'll start with the boring "thank you's" first. Thanks big time to all of these people: Pete with Team Toxic Bass and Hexibaseforum.com (user = Hexibase) for the enclosure design help Scott at Fi for answering all my questions and selling me a great woofer Scott (xbrightsidex) and joe …

We were given a project in my business management class -- make a business. I decided on doing a car audio shop. I got all the work on the business done early, so I figured I'd go above-and-beyond and build a movable car audio display to show off a bit Here's the build log: I went to Lowes and got two sheets of 3/4" MDF, and had them cut it to spec. (The pictures are quite big if you click 'em... 56K'ers be warned!) The bottom being screwed on: The screws are in!: Counter-sunk ftw: I'll be filling those screw holes with some sort of putty so I can later paint the whole cabinet. The top's on!: The one problem about working with yourself and not having corner clamps…

this winter break is givin me way to much time to think of new boxes to build. right now im tryin to make somethin that will give me trunk space. What ive come up with now is a box for 4 sundown E 8's and a blown 15" audiopulse axis top assembly as a passive radiator. the box is 32x16.75x10.5 external giving an interval volume of 2.42 ft^3. that gives the recommended .6cubes each for these subs. the cone mass is 390 grams which will tune the box to 29~30 hz. does this look good, any suggestions for improvement?

I'm pretty new to this website, and I'd like to thank everyone for the warm welcome. I am currently in the process of upgrading my subwoofer setup in my Yukon. I used to have 2 12" Alpine Type E and Alpine 450 watt amp. That was my first setup I ever had, and now that I know a lot more (definitely not everything) I am ready to upgrade. So ever since I saw Steeve Meeades's videos on YouTube, I've always wanted to get a BTL. Recently I've pulled the trigger on getting the stuff I need to do this. Ive paid for everythiing except for the sub itself, because I need to sell my previous setup to have enough money. I put on craigslist for $250, but every time someone offers …

I wanted to go ahead and create the thread because you gonna need to finalize your decision(s) very soon as i am onto you now. As far as i know, u want 2 12" BTLS off of a 3500d.... If this is true, it will be fired forward. I'll be rootin through my PMs again to find your dimensions so i can start your build. If you need an entire design done in your trunk, give me ALL dimensions so i can model battery and amp(s) mounting too if u need it, otherwise, i'll just design your box. Let me know what you want it tuned too.. otherwise, i'll tune it to 32hz for daily and interchangeable for competition.

The bandwidth on my photobucket was exceeded, so that's why I'm starting another thread. Heres everything I have done so far. 03 Ford Expedition XLT. Two Incriminator Audio Death Penalty's. Four JL Slash 1000/1v2's. Two bulk packs of Second Skin Damplifier Pro. What it's going in. Everything that's going in. Port. Bracing. Four layers of this. And I did the inside of the back hatch with two layers the Damplifier Pro too.
