Did this for a friend he wanted 1 - 8" mid 1 - 10" mid and 2 - tweeters in his door, so i cut out a mdf base to match the door panel, trimmed to fit. So here's the mockup so far, it all fits snug, we're using all crescendo components the selenium is for mockup. Using regular fleece and two coats of resin no fiberglass Fleece stretched and stapled Two coats of resin Fitted to the door Finished product nice and snug Not as smooth as i could get it but my friend didn't care otherwise i would have bondoed it, i think later down the road it will get vinyl not sure though

How to start this off????? Well, I got this way cool Fi Car Audio 10" Q. Here are some pics of how it arrived to me. Waiting at the doorstep. Opening up the box. Out of the box and on to the driveway for some pics. Side profile shot. Get a load of that motor. O_o A word from the people who made this possible. The plan will be for a simple ported box with an aero-port. I'll input all the manufacturers parameters and box specs into Hornresp and see what it chugs out. To follow up, I'll use a Dayton Audio Test System (D.A.T.S.) formerly know as the Woofer Tester, to verify the impedance curve and box tuning. If all goes well, I'll have a nice bumping…

Howdy, y'all. I purchased a 2008 Ford Edge last month and had equipment picked out for it before I even bought it. I've done a few builds in the past including a few enclosures for friends and I'll be heading off to college this fall and this will definitely be an ongoing build log, but I hope to have the sub in by the start of school. I've recently been picture happy... Anyway, onwards! The plans: Audio: Head Unit: Pioneer AVH-P2400BT Speakers are staying stock... for now. Amp: Cadence ZRS-7500D @ 2 ohms Sub: SSA Icon 15 Electrical: I'll be needing a second battery or new alternator. I'm thinking an XS D3400 as a secondary. For now, TBD. Other: Light…

I'm not sure if I've made a log for this or not, but here we go. We have here my shops 1994 Isuzu Pick up truck. Old system, 12 db Drive K9 10"s on 3 db Drive A73500's. Metered 157's at 54Hz and honestly sounded like doodoo. Here we have the first quick sketch I did after seeing Scott Bowemans truck in a video. Picking up the first 1/2 of the birch plywood we needed for the build. We jump forward a bit here to half way with the box. 1/4" Steel angle iron to hold the baffle in place and help keep box together. We have the baffle in. Sealed with wood glue, then silicon over the metal and all seams. Wires for the subs ran and cleaned up a little. Bolts for the wire to…

I just purchased a 15" sp4 d1 with all the bells and whistles. Now i have read that it is best in a 4th order enclosure. In the Fi specs it states its 3-5 cubes in 4th order enclosure. Now my question is then since im a newbie at 4th order. Is this correct: ported side 5 cubes so sealed side has to be half that so 2.5/2.71(counting woofer displacement) or should the motor be in the ported side? and what do i have to tune the ported side to? what is the best tuning for this sub? This is going in a 2012 chrysler 300. I will be running a kicker zx2500.1 at 2 ohms (that should be enough power right?) . My buddy said 65 herts so is that correct? I listen to alot of dubstep and…

Hello! It's been a while... this was my last thread http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/30682-sanders-bmw-audio/ but it is history now. Here is the new car! Right now it has 1.3liter 55kw carbed engine, but i have already bought new engine D16Z6 that comes with 92kw. Should be enough with this body. New Engine: I am also installing 7inch screen into dash with Raspberry pi computer that is controlled by Android phone to watch videos and play music... Raspberry and screen. Also bought lowering springs and made new front bumper for summer. On 26th march i am going to fix rust on car and repaint it. So let's get into sound... What …

New thread for the new build, The quest for insanity continues. I wont build this one for numbers either but will be active at Meca meets and just having fun. The goal here is to be very loud, low and sound good doing it. I'm hoping for 154's but want to do it peaking low, I would like 152's+ around 30hz, but main goal is to sound good, this will not be a burp box. Updated Equipment List for this build Power / Electrical Mechman 370amp alternator, over 200amps at idle.... props to Mechman Adjustable voltage regulator set at 14.7v 4 XS D3400's, 2 XP3000's (may change that up some) 4 runs of power, 2 runs of ground to back batteries wiring is Knu ofc 1/0 and also a lot o…

System 1: For me 12" FI BTL UFO DVC 1 OHM wired to .5 OHM Old School MMATS DHCx2200.05 amp = 2200wrms @.5 OHM & 13.8v or 2300wrms with 14.4v Box tuned to 34hz This system isn't currently installed.. it was in the trunk of my Jaguar for many years and it sounded good and got loud (Not competition loud) I never had it metered so I'm not sure what the SPL was probably 140ish.. I'm going to be installing it in my Ford Explorer pretty soon. System 2: For my wife MA 3600wrms amp thats overrated due to the fact that they rated it at 17volts. The amp is approx 3000wrms at 14.4 volts. Not the greatest amp...But I got a good deal, I picked this up for $150 used off craigslist.…

A few pics of my latest project. CLD CCF and MLV on all 4 doors. WAY more time consuming than I anticipated but I am pleased with the results. With Don's help it was really straight forward and not too complicated just super time consuming to get the fit just right with as much coverage as possible. Worth every hour.

Had this in a 1.35f^3 sealed box and it got down...but I felt like it wanted and needed more So I put her in a 2.5f^3 tuned ~33hz and WOW!!! couldn't be happier. I can't believe a $200 sub can play this loud and clean. Everyone who hears it always is impressed at how clear the bass is and that it is only 1 12" sub. This was my first box design from the ground up. would do a few things differently if I could do it over but overall I am happy with the results...

Sup... So I totaled my Explorer and broke my arm. BUT, I got a new job, got a new car, and got a (somewhat) new system. So I have two of these: Powered by this: Which is powered (in part) by this: Hooked up to the stock radio in this: And it all looks like this: The box is 4 cubes @ ~34 ish (I fuxxored the math up lol) which is a little higher than I wanted but it was as long as I could get it and still get the box in the trunk. Trunks suck ass btw. And that's my return to the land of bass. Yay.

So i have now decided to throw up a build log as i am currently going thru a rebuild process. There is going to be a lot of work to this Daily Driver and i do not get much time to mess around with it so it will be a low build. Also since this is going to be my first large scale build i will be taking my time with it anyway. Not to mention i do not have much experience just picking up on what i get from this and other forums. I did mess around with fiberglass a little so i have little knowledge of it also. Everything is going to be double to triple checked another thing that will take time. Anyway here is a few things that were in the truck and a list of things that will b…
