I recently aquired a brand new Sundown SA8v2. I talked with Thumper about a variation of an enclosure he built years ago for this sub, but after a lot of thinking, I wanted to do something original. Even though I have way more power than the 8 was designed to handle, I wanted to build a T-Line box. I built one years ago, and it sounded amazing. However, I didn't want to build just another boring rectangle t-line box that just looks like a ported box from the outside... So... I present to you my variation of a t-line box I threw together this evening. It took a couple of days to design it, and I thought it was going to be a nightmare to build, but it actually went toge…

I am very happy with how this build came out, I have a ton of pics on the comp at home, and I will get them posted here soon,. I'd like to thank NT_Hardcore, Focalrock4life and my wife Kasey for all the time that went into the project. NT really did a nice job with the wiring, there are a couple things in the back that need to be tied up, and they will be when we can get the car back in a few days.

I've been looking into transmission line and tapped horn enclosure for a while, but still dont know a whole lot. here is my attempt at a tapped horn design with 4 7in goldwood woofers($12 each). I have it all put together right now and it sounds really good, but its too late to turn it up real loud so that will wait till mornin. I'm not finished with the build yet though, but i was close to finishin so i decided to see how it sounded so far. If anyone knows more about the designs, and sees if I'm doin anythin wrong, I'm listenin for advice. the outside the inside bottom piece wired up to see how it sounds. 4 8 ohms woofers wired to a single 8 ohm load, g…

Hey guys, just thought i'd see if any of you were interested in checking out my progress walling my spare car. It's a 1995 Hyundai Excel (Accent for CAN/USA) hatch, pretty boring and poorly made car, but it's good enough to keep, cheap enough to sacrifice to be walled. Here's what the car looks like (not actual car) Had it for 5 months as a daily driver, i've had the front stage installed, battery and elec partially done, and a temp sub setup installed. But now it's time to go all out and have some fun with the subs. Sometime this week i'll be recieving two Mach5 IXL.18's, and the plan calls for 12cubes ported @ 30hz for some nice lows. Quick parts list for anyone who's …

heres a friendly reminder of what the subs/box looked like when i first put it in over a year ago(i never found a reason to take an updated pic considering nothing ever changed) I yanked the subs to spray some spectrum in the box. mainly to make sure the subs are sealed a little better and because ive had the spectrum sitting forever so might as well do something with it. I sprayed just under a gallon in both chambers. Made some cardboard lip extensions. the goal here was to be able to attach the the fabric to the lip and stretch it into the box holes... We were unsure if this was gonna work well but it was the best idea/shot we had. Starting the fabric/…

Im building a box for two SA-15's to go in a 2006 honda crv. I will be running them off a HFI 1500D and extra battery. I got the enclosure design from the ssa store and am hoping it works out good. The enclosure is going to be double flushed with bracing and tuned to 35 hz at 8 cubes. My goal is to hit 145 db+ and will upgrade alternator and amp in the future. Im going to post pics of my box build and system should be in by late april. Stay posted and if u have any suggestions or comments don't hesitate!

so as i said in my other post in the fab section, I got a little money for my birthday, so some of it went towards this: So, out with the old sealed: Here's the helper that I've enlisted: Now just to finalize the plans. Aiming for ~4 cubes at 34 Hz, Sub up still, port back. Still have some other left over MDF in the garage, so I should have enough wood now.

I am rebuilding a box for my HST-15. My current box sounds great, but there are a few things I wish I had done differently. So I thought I would do it again with the improvements made. Here is the box design. The box is 28" tall x 16" wide x 25" deep. I will be in the back seat of my 2008 Tundra. I have had the rear bench seat modified. Basically the middle seat was cut out so the box sits in between the rear seats. I will be powering it with a Taramp's HD 3000.1 with the duel 2 ohm voice coils wired to 1 ohm.

Ok so this is my first time trying to build an enclosure on my own so it will probably end up looking a little rough. I started cutting yesterday and some of the pieces didnt turn out so well so I'm re-doing a few today. I will have some pics up later tonight when I finish. The enclosure will be right around 1ft^3 with a 3inch aeroport after all displacements. I'll be picking up either a 10'' Icon or 10'' bl when I get some more money. I'm looking for a daily pounder that can replace two 12'' kappa perfects that were sealed. Do the flared precision ports need a special type of 90 degree elbow in order to make a bend or can I just use any old elbow?

So some back story I bought the hatch back my senior year of highschool with the intentions of making a loud daily driver setup and ended up getting real involved with build car mainly Hondas. I always helped with other builds but was never able to do what I wanted to mine until now. I did end up getting my setup together as far as audio but the hatch was never what I really wanted it to be. Recently I have become a single man and around the same time I was promoted at work and now make enough to redo my hatch while still providing for my two daughters. Basically I am doing this now because I finally can!! I have been out of the scene entierly too long and I am back now. …

Hey all ! I'm only about ankle deep in my new build... lol... well, I actually was hoping to get some preliminary advice from you guys, especially in the area of box design. So I'm trying to explore my different options for trunk setup this time around. The 18" Nightshade is a fresh recone done by Steve built to handle 3k daily, with heavy duty spider & tinsel leads among other things... Here are some pics next to one of the old 15" Q's Closeup of the tinsel leads My goal is simply to be balls-to-the-wall loud, of course. Not for SPL competition, but strictly for music. I really liked how low the Q's got off 7 cubes so my key points in designing the trunk setup wi…

I finally got in the amp, midbasses and so on and got to work. The box has been under construction for the last week and is done, finally. 2 cf @ 30hz 25.5 in^2 of port. I didn't want a full height port because it would have been stupidly long. As such I built the port as a separate unit and then made a cutout in the front panel and a flared trim piece to finish it off. Here's the port. Then I laid out the template for the cutout. and made the cut on the router table. I doubled the baffle around the sub and glued the port in place. Here is the box minus the port flange ready for paint. The flange was going to be painted a different color. The baox itself is pain…
