I was thinking of using aero ports instead of a slot port. That's where I get stuck. Ia2 recomended 240 inchs of port at 32 hertz in 17 cubes so how do you figure out how many aero ports and how long?

Well I have been working on my car for about 2 weeks now and figured I should post up some pics of the build. The car is being built to compete in MECA's amatuer street SQ class. The car is not 100% done yet, it just needs to be made pretty and then I am set, but that won't happen before the comp. at Casper Saturday. Before I begin I want to say thank you to Mark at SSA (for one of the best sounding subs that I have ever heard), Jacob at Sundown (for some very well built amps), all of my buddies at SoundCheck (Goddie, Cooper, RP, Hank, and Ryan), and my team mates Marshall and Chris. Equipment being used is in my sig. Here are the pics in order (somewhat)

  5. Okay, we were finally able to get the vehicle that will be replacing the van as our daily driver. I found a nice 2010 Traverse AWD with everything the wife wanted in it and a little more with decent miles on it and I even got a decent deal on it. Now, the wife realized before we even got serious about shopping for one that we should probably tone down the size of the install in the new vehicle. While she was/is still wanting some good sounding speakers and some bump going to the the size and extent of the build in the van was more than we need for this one. One of the biggest reasons for that was simply because of the damage the Q's caused the van. Before I installed…

real simple build that is semi-temporary. xmas im geting another amp so ill just have to cut a new piece of mdf and mount it up there. sorry for the crappy pics... used the camera on the phone and i worked on it at night. first i mounted a piece of mdf with bolts to the metal. next i got another piece of mdf to bring the amp rack out so it clears the rest of the rear deck. here is the mdf rack mounted on there. showing the clearance with the sub box in. AA arsenal ftw pic of the sub box. (the amp rack hasn't been added yet but u wouldn't be able to see it anyways. finishing it tomorrow night.

  10. This box is a rebuild due to his last box apparently never being built correctly. A 15yr old guy on ca.com that seems to do decent work built his last box, but it was rattling from day one and Ben thought it was the sub, and I, telling him the whole time it sounded like either his hatch or the box. Either way, the top plate of the box seperated from the enclosure walls and really rattled, making this setup un-playable. So we decided to build him a new one. Ernie started this box yesterday and we finished it up today. old box. new box. we'll have to get some video's of this thing now. It flexs everything in his car, digs down nice and low and distorts my voice e…

Just built this a few days ago...havin some power issues so I can't put it in the car quite yet, but here's the build. Hopefully someone can help me out here... as you all know, the edges are easy to clamp down so they don't move while you are screwing them in, but how do you do the port...my port kept moving like this. What I had to do, was just glue it down, and Silicon it until it dried, THENNNN i tipped the box on its side and screwed it down, but this kinda defeats the point of the glue then.. any techniques you guys could give me?? Thanks. I used silicon II and resin on all the edges and corners..... somehow a few pieces of 1/2" MDF got in there... I ho…

alright, so just after I get everything into the rocky, I find out that my dad might be getting his money from his dads IRA this coming week, and buying a newer Nissan Frontier, which would then make me the owner of a 92 Nissan Hardbody king cab so that I can sell my rocky and F150 and use the money to build a shed. (I work for them maintaining their rentals so I store a LOT of crap at my house (tons of paint, big tubs of paint supplies, plumbing parts/tools, electrical, etc...) anyways, I could siphon a bit of the money from the vehicle sales plus regular income for a build. I would once again reuse the Pioneer P600UB, maybe reuse the infinity 475a amp, and scrap everyth…

Ok this is for a buddy of mine ... I am helping him with his build in lifted 1999 F250... it will be 2 15in icons in 8cubes tunned to 32hrz with 128sqin of port. big three and dual batts aslong as amps and front stage will be determined later once funding is here.. shouldnt be longer that two months. for now it will be off a pos dhd2000 with what ever he has as frontstage and deck. here is a pic of the box tell me what u guys think and if we should go with this design the space ontop of the port is blocked to cut down the box size.. i still got .88 cubes to play with and some bracing to add.

  22. Well, first off. This is going to be off to a slow start. As some of you know, I totaled out my beloved daewoo and did not have full coverage. I was also between jobs when it happened. So I just picked this 2dr, 4wd blazer today, literally. I got it for a good deal. It needs some work, but it'll be worth it. I got some shit to fix on it, A/C, some suspension work, and I think the front axle solenoid is bad, I hear the transfercase solenoid kicking in, but no pull from the front. Few little nick nack things to fix. No biggie, I'm good at turning a wrench. Any way, I'm pretty well broke right now, until I get steady cash coming in. Most likely the build will start with on…

  25. Thought you guys might like to see a build we are finishing...you may have seen it on another forum...This isn't exactly going to be a full build log, mostly just pics of it as things get finished. This is my buddy's van, we have been building it at his house the last few months. What we have been trying to accomplish is an "old-school" type build, full install, LOW LOW extension, move a bunch of air, and do decent SPL (definitely not our main goal). I worked at a shop in Akron, Ohio in the 90's doing mostly big installs, and competed some myself. He used to compete in consumer classes in USAC back then too. (Both of us had world records in the 90's)...on to the pics... T…
