This is my third time posting this, so you may have already seen it. But I also want more feedback. It isn't a large build by any means, but its my first, and I'm completely satisfied. It isn't as loud as most of my friends (most have L7s, one has a MTX 9515, and another has a couple 15 inch MOJOs), but NONE of them can hit as low as loud as me. 12" DC Level 4 1.65 cubes tuned to 28 DD M1a 4ga. Stinger HPM wire I'll start off with what I posted a couple weeks ago, and follow up with how it stands now (or stood up until about 6 this afternoon). The car: CD3200 (sticking out about a cm. Damn shallow dash): Hidden knob: Look Ma! No Wires! 1.65 cubes tuned to 28 (prob…

Hey guys... I have a build log over at CA.com as well but I'm really getting tired of the childish behavior of the mods around there (I got banned for "joining in '08" along with a bunch of other people) so I decided to come over here to SSA and show you guys what I've been up to the past couple months. At the time of this writing, my setup consists of the following: 2 15" Fi Q's (DVC 1ohm, wired to total load of 1 ohm) AQ2200D amp 7cuft ported box tuned @ 32Hz - designed by Chris at Fisher Customs, built by me Infinity 475a Reference amp running highs (soon-to-be IDCTX65CS comps, I just need to build the door pods for them. Running some Kenwoods up front for now) All Knu…

I have been a busy man the past month and thought I would share the results. It's been cold and wet so the pics are going to be limited. Work was more important since time was a factor. Next house will have a BIG garage. Working in the elements has it's challenges. Lets get this party started. I decided I wanted to try the XCONS out sealed and I sure am glad I did. I still have HUGE output and the SQ improved in a big way. Nice tight bass that you feel in your gut. Amazing. Dont listen to that bullchit that you need a big ported box to get the XCONS loud. That is just not true and the people saying it have no experience actually doing it. These MF'ers wang in a sealed box…

So thx to the forums and great people I got from a point where I had no clue at all about car audio half a year ago, to the point where I'm all finished with my first built ever. I'm pretty happy that I did all the work myself, I can be sure there were no shortcuts taken and I know what's what. It took me around 6-7hrs for damplifing front doors, rear hatch and a hatch area, then around 6 day(30hrs all together) to do everything, from wiring, custom baffles, watersealer, just a lot of stuff. Pioneer Prs880 Sundown 100.4 Sundown 125.2 Image Dynamics CTX65CS Image Dynamics CTX6 Image Dynamics ID 8'' Knukonceptz wiring, rca's, distro block Secondskin damplifier lite, overki…

Hello from Martinique , A friend of mine, a box builder for a shop here, is upgrading is sound system. He's going from 1 SSA xcon 15" on 2 Sundown saz 1000 d amps to 2 xcons on 4 saz 1000d. We bought the design from someone on this forum ! The box is made in 2 parts : one for each sub. Totally independant chambers and ports. 2 exactly same boxes. For the mids (2 8" Davis Acoustics speakers on each front door)he will use a JBL amp (px 300.4) and for the highs(several 5.5" speakers and tweeters, all Davis) he will use a new amp : the JBL 100.4. Doors and trunk are already deadened with SecondSkin Audio Damplifier and Damplifier Pro. Here are some pics of the box build.

A friend of mine from work listened to my setup about two weeks ago, he said he wanted better sound in his car but couldn't spend much, I asked his budget and he gave me ~$300 as a limit, so I told him I'd get something for him. I worked on a design, and approached him with a 12" SSA DCON S4, a Rockford Fosgate 200.2, and an enclosure 2.25 cubes tuned to 32 Hz. He liked it, and gave me the go ahead. The amplifier was the first to arrive, no pictures of it though because it was shipped to his house. Then we got the DCON, and I much say it's an impressive driver. I wouldn't consider it entry level at all! It is extremely well built, now time for the woofa porn My dog …

Got a friend that has a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Classic and he already had some JL Audio ZR components installed (if you would even call them installed. The work was HORRRRIBLE).He initially came to me wanting as much CLEAN,LOW bass as possible without having to cut into the bed or giving up any seat space.I immediately thought of the Digital Designs 1008b's.After a few phone calls with Steve over at DD we got something worked up mapped out. After popping a few panels inside and seeing the pitiful quality of the work inside, my buddy agreed to let me strip everything out and re-install all the existing equipment. Now, on with the pics...... I'll see what I can ge…

BIG install coming soon!.... This is my first build out....the only experience i have with glass are with the 2 kick pods i have in there now and it was a learning one! They turned out great but i made the mistake of drilling a big hole through the back to port them...oooops! They made $800 dollar comps sound like a gramaphone....so I'm making new ones. Along with, 2 pods on rear of the headliner, 2 amp racks on the rear panels and 2 enclosures above the wheel well. The equipment... I realized I hadn't posted this on SSA so here it is. My car is a 1996 Chevy Lumina LS and is my daily driver. Everything is pretty much stock except for a few things- Excessive Amperage 200A alt Big 3 0g Optima yellowtop in front Northstar NSB 90 0g front to back As of a couple days ago I had a budget stereo. RF power 5 1/4 and 6x9 coaxials in the stock locations. A visonik 240xt to power them. I have 2 but only run 1 10" RF power HX2 sub in a 1.75 @33hz off of a DUB8001 amp. My HU is a premier p490ib with my 2G nano connected to it. But right now, I replaced the DUB amp with an RF T10001bd and gave my 6x9's away. Nothing looks really nice because its still temporary.. a…

I am about to start my build log for my new car. I'm wanting to do an 18 btl not sure about anything else yet I need a cheap amp that does 2 kw rms. For mids and highs ill run 2 sets of coaxials off the deck for now will amplify them later if necessary. I just went to pull a part today and got all the carpet for the trunk. I'm gonna try to do the big 3 tomorrow. Will get and install a HU when I decide on one. I'm not sure on electrical upgrades yet ill play that by ear. Gotta get more 0 awg wire and build the box also. Will try to add pics of the trunk before and after tomorrow or tonight. Also plan on painting some interior pieces. Any feed back or suggestions …

These are pictures, of the early stages, of my application of CLD tiles. When I'm finished with my floor, I'll have over 200 ft^2 of CLD layered over it. http://s917.photobucket.com/albums/ad18/sawyersbigdaddy/F150%20minus%20interior%20exposing%20all%20sheet%20matel/?albumview=slideshow
