  2. Picked up another Orphan 8" from Mike a couple weeks ago. These things are badass. Here is the box. & the port & to fully understand the design, Box is .91cuft tuned to 30hz, and so far I think it really likes this box. Just finished it tonight so I didnt get to really crank it up (wife yelled at me for shaking the house at 11pm ) but it has a great sound to it. I will post a vid when I get a chance.

  4. I have been a busy man the past month and thought I would share the results. It's been cold and wet so the pics are going to be limited. Work was more important since time was a factor. Next house will have a BIG garage. Working in the elements has it's challenges. Lets get this party started. I decided I wanted to try the XCONS out sealed and I sure am glad I did. I still have HUGE output and the SQ improved in a big way. Nice tight bass that you feel in your gut. Amazing. Dont listen to that bullchit that you need a big ported box to get the XCONS loud. That is just not true and the people saying it have no experience actually doing it. These MF'ers wang in a sealed box…

well, to be honest, i just got finished looking through some of the build logs on here. and i can honestly say that, im a little disappointed in my build. this is really my first time doing everything w/o the help of my dad. hes not really around anymore, so i decided to try and tackle this by myself. ive caught alot of crap about how the box looks w/ fiberglass. i thought it was air bubbles at first to. but i didnt let the fleece harden completely, so it started sagging when the glass was kicking off. so its 100% air void free. i even sanded some down to make sure. i have 2 memphis mojo 10s going in it. i was going to run soundstream tarantula trx1500ds for it, but i dec…

I've had some equipment laying around for over 2 years, and my wife wants a little bit of bass. I figure I may as well make the most of what I have, which chances are will be more than she'll ever use anyway. Her car: Chevy Malibu Equipment: Alpine 9885 Alpine Type-X 12 D4 Hifonics 2006d Enclosure: ~1.5ft net tuned to 36hz with 24sqin of port. She wants a little bass, and plenty of room to put groceries. Also no wires or equipment hanging out like most drop in installs. This is really temporary until she gets a new car some time this year. The equipment: Of course I had to draw up some plans and it starts at the kitchen table: A MS Paint drawing of what I'm going for…

Eh i thought i might as well post up my crappy work so far. I am by no means the kind of person that tries to make shit look good from start to finish. As long as it looks great at finish, functions properly, and is pretty well built then i'm ok with it This is going in a 2004 Silverado ECSB. Total vol. will be est. @ 5.2. I'm going to tune lower than i want @ 31hz and expect it to be more at 33-34hz just because that always seems like what happens and that's where i prefer it anyway. Yes that is 1/2" mdf. I had a whole sheet sitting in the shop so i'm going to use that and fiberglass over it so it'll be closer to 3/4. The subs are mounted up and port facing forward wit…

I have read so many other build logs on here I figured I would contribute by showing how my first build turned out. What Ford deemed adequate for my focus I deemed a bit weak. My old 8" from Ford My new Fi q12 d2 and my audioque 1200d Positive side 1/0 welding cable The 150 amp fuse My rear ground also in 1/0 My box which upon further research my port is too small on My ghetto temporary amp rack Good thing I need to redo the box anyways as I blew out a corner somehow I am not quite sure what I am going to do next to replace this. I am unimpressed with my current output. I don't know if it is from my improperly designed and created box or just that this SQ woof…

  18. Didn't find a category for this but it is somewhat a build log and there are no guidelines that say it has to be about car audio. So, I took a break from messing with the Camry for about 1 week or so.... This is what kept my time...Let me know what you guys think... This was the original desk, second-hand but looks like it was maybe from Kmart or Staples... Notice the bow in the center? The desk was perfect for about 1.5yrs and I'm assuming the "compressed wood" could not handle the weight of my desk mount arm for my 24" monitor: Items bought at Home Depot: Transformation: Everything set up again:

Okay so obvs this is NOT car audio build log, and i couldn't decide if this belongs in the Off Topic or what so fuck it Most people don't know how it's done, a lot of people ask me.. but it's to complicated to explain in a small conversation. So.. what's better then a build log? This is mainly for my SSA brothers and sisters to kill some time This is going to be a Soccer Field in Scottsdale, AZ It's 14 thousand square feet. This was originally an Inline Hockey Rink, but in AZ Soccer is SO much more popular. I have had a build log on **** for awhile and I figured I would share some info on the build here. Truck is a 2004 Dodge ram 1500 single cab with a 2/7 drop on 22" black and machined US 55's. Sub stage is 1 Atomic APXX 1078 15" on a DDM4 wire at .7, Toolmaker dual inputs. The enclosure is 5.5 cubes net sub forward custom Psychoacoustics oval aero out the side. XS d3100's under the hood, all toolmaker terminals, 8 runs of SHOK 1/0. 4+,4-. The best score to date for the truck in MECA is a 151.3 @30hz at the headrest. What is everyone's opinion on this build? I will post pics when I get home.

Specs - 22" tall 44" wide 22" deep Double baffled Subs and port facing rear. Make sure you install the box so when looking into your trunk, the port is on the right just how it is in the pic below. Port area - 20.5" x 5" = 102.5" Tuned to 33Hz @ 8.0 cubic ft NET after minor bracing shown below. Port is attached to back of second baffle. The port wall depth is 14.75" This allows a 5" wide opening from the end of the wall to the back wall of the box. This is important as you must keep the opening 5" wide. The bracing can be all thread(not the vertical runs obviously), or wooden dowels. Diameter really isn't too important, anywhere between 1-2" is fine. The bracing sh…
