I built a ported box for my rlp-12. It's 2.2 cubes tuned to whatever it is. The port is 34 inches long and goes from 1.5 inches at the start to 3.5 inches at the end, i don't know if that would change the tuning or not. I based it off a 2.5 inch port and took an inch off of the beginning and added one on the end.. Outside dimensions are 22.5 x 22.5 x 14.5 inches. Im not going to do anything else to this box cuz im gonna scrap it. My gear my box having some fun with the box my half ass install doesn't the box just look all pretty. im gonna make a different one for the sub. This is the best sub i've ever heard. figured i'm sitting outside the court house wasting time waiting for someone so i might as well type something up here. Current set up is an alpine cda9807 hu. Front door speakers are cdt cox622. The rest of everything now is still bose stock with an arc 4150 xxk already bought for powering the front doors and the kappa 692.9i.'s i've already bought as well for replacing the rear 6x9's. I'm keeping the rear deck 3's and front pillar tweets stock and keeping them powered by the bose amp. Sub change is in progress but i'm leaning to an fi q or sundown z15. Currently have a re se-xxx 12 powered by an audiopipe ap1500. Already bought amp replacement for the ap and have an ar…

Long time member here first build log though. I have on order 2 sundown sa-12's and from what I already have gathered i need about a 4cu ft net common chamber box and I want to get around 30Hz tune. Looking for ideas on design as far as sub and port orientation. I plan on removing and reloacting the jack so i have more room to work with back against the cab wall. I am also making a false floor/platform to have a nice area to work with. I have 1500 watts on tap, stock electrical although I am also going to upgrade my power/grounds under the hood. I have a pretty beefy battery and with only 1500 watts I should survive with just charging upgrades. Have in the past but we s…

Well, I decided I'd go ahead and post up my vehicle and stereo setup. It's nothing big, but it works for now. 2008 Saturn Vue Factory HU Factory door speakers Tsunami and Power Q 4 gauge wiring MTX RFL600D Clarion SW1051 The amp and LOC were installed by L&H Mobile Electronics of Topeka, KS. Good bunch of guys there. I bought the amp used for a very good price. I also found the pair of Clarion subs BNIB for an awesome price so I snatched them up. Only running one for now, and I'm not sure if or when I'll ever install the second one. I'm very impressed with the performance of this sub. Not at all what I expected. I do plan on upgrading the door speakers, but I…

My grandfather passed away in 2004, and I finally ended up getting the nerve to start getting the Eldorado fixed up and handled. I went up to my grandmother's house Sunday and tried to get her fired up after sitting for about 5 years. Electrical all seems good besides having to replace the battery of course. I came across a couple of things that royally pissed me off but when I go up again to try and pass the old gasoline out, or drop the tank if it comes to that, I should be able to have her running and ready to go. Plans are RF Punch Pro 6'' or 8'' in the doors below the factory speaker locations and the Punch Pro Tweeters in the factory 4'' locations. Rear speakers w…

Here is a few pics now that im done. Finally got this damn cam. The alt bracket had to be bent out of the way but it worked. The grounds on the frame are welded on bolts cause I thouht it would be easier. This alt is a BEAST! Thank you Mechman! My power is incredible right now! I hope the regulator isnt set too high. I never touched the adjustment screw and installed it how it was. I thought it came set for you between 14.4-14.9. Is that right? My gauge never gets to 14. It was always over 14 at start up before, but now its just a litle more. Before at 3/4 volume I could get the batt LED light to come on within 5-7 seconds of play. Now...now is a different story.

I got around to installing this little guy today and Im stoked. I used a 12 volt relay as that is what I have seen recommended. The install took a little longer than I wanted but overall it was pretty easy. The blue matches my truck and the illumination isnt too bright. I ran the power wire to the amp terminals to get a more accurate reading. The voltmeter is sitting in the old factory stereo location where it was swapped out for a cd pocket that the cds always fall out of. Piece of shit! It fits perfect and i like it recessed so its not blaring the light all over the cab too much. Very pleased with it though and want another for my Geo.

alright, so just after I get everything into the rocky, I find out that my dad might be getting his money from his dads IRA this coming week, and buying a newer Nissan Frontier, which would then make me the owner of a 92 Nissan Hardbody king cab so that I can sell my rocky and F150 and use the money to build a shed. (I work for them maintaining their rentals so I store a LOT of crap at my house (tons of paint, big tubs of paint supplies, plumbing parts/tools, electrical, etc...) anyways, I could siphon a bit of the money from the vehicle sales plus regular income for a build. I would once again reuse the Pioneer P600UB, maybe reuse the infinity 475a amp, and scrap everyth…

Had this in a 1.35f^3 sealed box and it got down...but I felt like it wanted and needed more So I put her in a 2.5f^3 tuned ~33hz and WOW!!! couldn't be happier. I can't believe a $200 sub can play this loud and clean. Everyone who hears it always is impressed at how clear the bass is and that it is only 1 12" sub. This was my first box design from the ground up. would do a few things differently if I could do it over but overall I am happy with the results...
