I am starting my first wall build and need a little bit of guidence. The truck is a 1986 GMC S15 ext cab (2wd) The equpiment I'm using is 15" Alpine Type R The amp I'm getting is a two AQ 2200d I'm going to have the drivers wired to 1 ohm. What I really need help with is the building part of the project. I've never seen a wall in person or built one. I seen pictures online and have the grasp of it. So.. if a box builder could help me with the blueprints on my project I can get started. The kinda wall I want is a competition wall, so I was told.. It seems to be a sheet of wood from floor to celing with the port on the driver side.

Finally got where I wanted to be audio wise after a few years. I have had lots of setups but like this one the most. It is the most musical substage (at low volume) I have had yet. I'd like to thank everyone for their help and knowledge along the way. Official TL score on the dash with all windows down 152.6 @ ~44 The subs are Fi BTLs

I just posted a small intro on the new members thread and said I was going to post my build so hear are a bunch of pictures to bring you up to speed. I was out of audio for a long minute until I found a bunch of videos on YT and it got me fired up again. The game had changed a lot since I was into it in the late nineties. Before all this madness began I had an alpine 6.5" comp set and a single 12". It has grown into somewhat of a monster now and it continues to get better... Here is an outside pic to set this thing off. I am repainting it this summer. Matte black with a rhino lined roof lol Old doors new door build for a single 10" Window controls molded into door pan…

Hey guys, just thought i'd see if any of you were interested in checking out my progress walling my spare car. It's a 1995 Hyundai Excel (Accent for CAN/USA) hatch, pretty boring and poorly made car, but it's good enough to keep, cheap enough to sacrifice to be walled. Here's what the car looks like (not actual car) Had it for 5 months as a daily driver, i've had the front stage installed, battery and elec partially done, and a temp sub setup installed. But now it's time to go all out and have some fun with the subs. Sometime this week i'll be recieving two Mach5 IXL.18's, and the plan calls for 12cubes ported @ 30hz for some nice lows. Quick parts list for anyone who's …

In one of my intro threads I remarked it was like an old addiction. Seems as of late well for over 13 years I've mended my ways and laid down my desires for my family. What started as just a small system has resurrected the monster. I have a few goals intended for this system they are: 1. Create a clean install which is removable with minimum effort. After all this is our family car. 2. Target db level 145 3. Modular design to accept several boxes and yet remain SANITARY in installation. 4. Kid proof Covers to prevent kids from dropping stuff in ports (one reason the passive radiator is one of the designs) 5. Design for double the electrical draw. On hand purchased …

The Double Deez are out, no porno. :\ Now I'm gonna try a pair of JBL w15GTi's. If you missed the original build feel free and check it out here. Worst build ever! This is a straight drop in replacement, so things might not work out as planned. We'll just have to see what happens. I'm not looking to get louder, just looking for a cleaner sound Lets get started with some disassembly pics. Dang these fhawkers are heavy! A little side by side action. Those JBLs are wild looking fo sho! Side by side looking down at the cones. The DD have the edge on this one with the carbon fiber dust caps. With the tall-n-narrow surrounds the DD also look bigger. I ran out of daylight b…

Howdy all, I finally took the time to order all the parts for Zaph Audio's Bargain Mini Build. I will be constructing the crossovers and the boxes and throwing it all together. I will say first that my build will probably not be the prettiest ever. I actually only get time to work on this when I travel back to my hometown for a weekend. However, I am just trying to get some nice sounding speakers together and hopefully this will be my gateway to bigger and better builds. First off are the components Next is the crossover mock up. I did this to get the correct sizing for the crossover so it will fit in the relatively small box. I was very surprised about the size and hef…

My current build can be found here. Decided to try out a ZCON. I probably would not have bought one but I bought this used at a good price. USPS is holding the driver at their facility so hopefully tomorrow I can pick it up. Really going a different route with the enclosure as well. I picked up a few 8" aero ports from Adrian_D Enclosure specs : 4.11^ft tuned at 35hz The port opening is literally right beside the sub. I am very curious how this will work out. I suspect some funky things will happen, we will see. Port will be semi external and sub will be mounted inverted. I will eventually be powering it with my DC Audio 2.0K that I've had in my closet for four months. J…

Hi SSA guys. My friend and I just recently picked up a very cheap car and we are going to turn it into a Zombie Apocalypse Vehicle (ZAV). All of the modifications will be done by hand using readily available materials. This is purely for fun and everybody's enjoyment. First things first, every Zombie car needs a sound system!! So this is what we have done. Searched amazon for some of the cheapest 15" subs we could have shipped. We came upon the Absolute USA SN 2000 subs. $30 shipped each. And to make it even better, found a iPod docking deck for $27 shipped. After that we went and got some wood. 3/4 OSB had the best price. Used left over wire and fuses from previous bui…

I picked up the Sundowns and the Eclipse 8443 back in December and threw in a temporary set up. Now that I'm not having my life sucked away by a manipulative bitch, I'm finally getting the install completed. I'm rebuilding the RL-i boxes to be slightly larger and not have airleaks and be more attractive. Side panels will be build into which the amps will be flush mounted. Hopefully, I'll also get a chance to build a cover panel for my rear deck this week. On to teh pics! Eclipse 8443: Some boxes: Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D: Sundown Audio SAX-100.4: Temp. Install: New boxes for the 8s coming together: That's all I have done so far. More to be posted as I complet…

This build is a labor of love. My father encouraged me to do what I love no matter what other people think of it. When I was 14 I got a ride home from a high school guy that worked for my dad and he had 2 12" pioneer subs in his Grand Am. I was hooked! I wanted everything to have bass. I am going to be 32 this year and my father has fallen ill. He is currently in the hospital with pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism. Laying there on the hospital bed he asked me what my plans were. Thinking he was giving me the life speech... I stumbled out some words about how work is going well and how I've been saving up money now that I have a car I paid for in cash with no paym…
