  1. Started by Miles,

Got the call from someone local to build a box for his setup. He has 2 SSA Evil 18's on 2 NS-1's at 0.5 ohms a piece, with 4 XS D3100's and a Mechman 270. His current box was initially built for 4 18's (something like 18 cubes net) and stuck WAY above the window line. He wanted a box for just the 2 that he has, a lot smaller box, and something with a little "flair". Well, here it is... Specs: 13.2 cubes net 12" Octaport 32.3 hz Double layered all around (except sides) Window style bracing Bolt terminals Bedlined outside with a fire-engine red port Be sure to watch the video at the end!

  2. So I figured I'd start the build log for this car, Its gonna be a little slow to begin as the first big step for the install is going to be a pain in the ass. For those that were looking forward to the bronco build, and wondered what happened to that.. well the truck was wrecked, and the body work that is needed to be done is now quite extensive. So the work on that will be to bring it back to its original beauty before any audio work is done. The car is an 2013 all wheel drive Chrysler 300 with pearlescent white paint. (uploading picture atm) Already has the Team SSA sticker on the back window (uploading picture atm) My current temporary plans for the audio ar…

i have a '96 toyota t100 and was going to put two 12's in it but have no idea where i should put it. The back seat has no space under and i was wondering if it is at all possible to drop the bottom out just to where i could fit my speakers or if i just just put them under the driver and passenger seat.

  9. Wow... It has been years since I've been on here. But I can say, this website taught me a lot when I got into the industry almost a decade ago. Now I'm in college and build/design boxes as a side job to make some money (pretty good money some months). Bought a TJ a little over a year ago, and finally decided it was time to do a semi-permanent system (something I could easily remove if I needed to). Didn't want to spend a whole lot of money, because well, this vehicle has plastic windows. Good luck was in my favor because over all the years of helping people out, they helped me out. I got the sub for free and the amp for $50. So anyway, onto the build. I wanted a box t…

  10. This is the initial start to what i like to think will be an amazing set up and time. Between the components I've chosen, too the input needed from the lovely forum members here at SSA. I believe we will make this a real beauty!!! -So let's start off with what's been ordered thus far (2) Incriminator Audio Death Row 15's(2013 model) 1500 rms/Dual 1 ohms(1) Soundqubed Q1-2200D to be ran at 1ohm/0AWG Now for the components still to be added to this final build. I mean when i say done properly, I want the enclosure just right down to the detail, the right amount of power with flow of current/amp hours to take the beating and all around electrically correct for a build, and S…

Hi SSA guys. My friend and I just recently picked up a very cheap car and we are going to turn it into a Zombie Apocalypse Vehicle (ZAV). All of the modifications will be done by hand using readily available materials. This is purely for fun and everybody's enjoyment. First things first, every Zombie car needs a sound system!! So this is what we have done. Searched amazon for some of the cheapest 15" subs we could have shipped. We came upon the Absolute USA SN 2000 subs. $30 shipped each. And to make it even better, found a iPod docking deck for $27 shipped. After that we went and got some wood. 3/4 OSB had the best price. Used left over wire and fuses from previous bui…

Here we go, starting the lightweight, simple install in the Miata First off some pictures of the car, keep in mind I was always too busy enjoying driving it to do anything else, like cleaning it Just after a wash, comparing it with a friend's Z3. Mock-up of the 7" tablet. Fits great in the scene Target for the entire system is under 30 lbs. That includes wiring, fiberglass, minimal deadening, speakers, amp, tablet and miniDSP.

Well, after relentless debate over the ol hoopty I suppose Im gonna brush the dust off off her, well the leaves, acorns, and pine needles actually. She's been worked on and stalled and repeat and parked and well down right neglected as it wasnt a daily driver anymore. Ive pretty much figured hell Im this far and she has never let me down so its time to pamper the bitch and get her back on track. The ol Hoopty is in route for 2 18s....I got the enclosure mapped out for it already etc. Im doing a pair of Evils...thats the mission for that even tho gear is a bit out. Ummmm Im aiming for the Punch Pros in the doors. I think I can do that hoping I dont have to mod the…

Gonna be doing a simple but effective build in my new dually. I just want a decent sounding setup that doesnt break the bank. Plans........ Big 3 Pioneer head unit Probably JL components (i really liked the C5's I put in another build) Custom glassed sealed kick panels 4 channel amp on mids/highs BC 2000 on sub(s) maybe.... unless I choose a big 4 channel to power it all. Looking at running a single 12 or two 10's sealed (space very limited), Sub choices are limited to somewhat shallow subs. I may do the Sundown SD's since I have heard them first hand and they sound ok. Vehicle and photos of interior

  19. I am helping a buddy revamp his install. He was using a JL Audio component set for the font stage and JL Audio 12w6 subs powered by JL Audio Slash amps. He bought my P99RS from me and is now running active I gave him a quick four hour tune while drinking some beers and we got the JL's sounding really good. Good enough to be winning competitions but he wanted more. He bought a set of Seas components and is hoping for a better sound. I recommended a different route but this is what he choose. We have a lot to go yet on revamping his install. Here are a few pics of the Seas midrange install. Old MDF baffles that I told him had to go. I made new baffles out of cuttin…
