Build Logs

So, build logs aren't really my thing. For one, my fabrication skills are easily bested by a monkey on narcotics. Second, I simply don't have the patience to stop and take pictures when I'm in the middle of doing something. But, a couple people have asked so......here it is. My attempt at building kickpanels to house the CS603CF comp set. Thank you to audiolife for lending his ears while playing with the aiming, and GrampaDon for lending a hand at wrapping the kicks. Ok, well I have a friend that we(Acidburn & I) are doing a build for. He's got a 2006 Solara. We are going with 3 ICON 10D2s. Box Specs: Tuning: 31hz Box Volume: 4.008 ft^3 Squar Port Area: 49.5 For right now, we only have the box done. The rest of the equipment is still a work in progress. I'll update this thread as it comes in. We made the box as big as we could for the room we had to work with without loosing functionality of the trunk. Anyways, on to the pics.

Hey guys im pulling out the old system and replacing it and reusing some. currently i have 2 re audio 8s under the back seats and MB quart q series mids and highs. Im puttig the 8s in the back doors and putting a Fi BTL 12 in their place. gonna be running mids and highs off a sundown sax 50.4, midbass (re8s) off my sax 125.2 and the btl off the saz 1500d. anyways its gonna be a process. just got all new knu 1/0 power and ground and 200 sq/ft of fatmat rattle trap today so im getting started on that. already started my btl box12. take a look.

Well it's time for a rebuild. I am shooting to win MECA Street 5 finals this year. I set a state record so far this year with my two death penalty 21's. 148.6 at the headrest. Thats pretty good I think, and I am very happy with it being my first year competing. I have also picked up xs power as a sponsor, and am a member of Team DBs! Now to win the finals I am going to need to get louder. In the mid 150 range. So I sold the 21's and am getting 4 2010 model Death Penalty 18's, an will be running them off of my new 40.1!! And here is the start of the rebuild. Starting with the box.

Hey everyone i am Ryan. You will here alot from me while i am building my new setup! I have a 2000 Isuzu Hombre (same as an S10), std cab, 5speed, 2.2 I had twelve RE 8's in the truck before the teardown, and now i am upgrading: here is an old pic: and for anyone interested it did 148 on the TL mic with a modified MTX 1501D amp. My new setup will look something like this: with 10 ascendant 8's ported with 6 aero ports tuned to around 45hz or so for comps, and if i plug up 3 ports it will tune the box to around 32hz for daily driven and i will be putting in four 5 1/4's or 6" mids in each door, along with 4 tweets in each door. i have yet to decide on brands for those…

This build will not be a rushed one.. I want to take my time, cause I rushed my last build. I have learned alot of stuff from other forums, but from the little time I have been looking at the amazing builds here.. I know I will be busy soon getting this beast running before any audio goes in, but I have also been working on some ideas.. This might be a semi slow build, I have most of the equipment, but I do need a few other things to complete it all. I traded my truck in on a 2012 VW Passat about 6 months ago and I've had a stock stereo since. This will be my first time building a ported box, fis\rst experience with a processor (360.3) and my first experience with a 15" sub (SSA X-CON). The X-CON is Dual 1 ohm, so it should be good on the DC 5.0K at 2 ohms (2300 watts nominal). I am keeping the stock head unit, but adding a Rockford Fosgate 360.3 to control everything. Just bought a DSS 15" Ethos (2 Ohm) and will be running it off my PPI BK1800.1 in a 3.32 cu ft net enclosure tuned to 32.13 Hz. Here is a list of my set up so far. I'm out in Japan and have been working on a second install in my Toyota Voxy. It's been one heck of a challenge since I'm sourcing everything from back USA. Most of the Japanese run the big box brands like RF, Kenwood, Sony, etc. , so I decided to go with something different that will be in the end outstanding. The second challenge, is the vehicle of choice a Toyota Voxy.
