My sub is finally here! Audibel Customs Customer Service: I genuinely respect Quentin for being a very busy man and still getting back to his customer e-mails on the same day. It shows that customers are a big priority. Answered all my questions, and made this process very easy for me. Will definitely buy from again.A++ Custom Box: My custom box that Quentin made is not a box you would normally see since it was for a single cab with limited amount of mounting depth. Quentin made it possible for me to still jam in this little amount of space. Great sturdy box with a luxury look. Thanks Quentin!!!A++ SSA Customer Service & Product: On only about 600 Watts this thing…

Aesthetics & Design I placed the order straight from the Sound Solutions Audio store on the 13th and it was shipped same day and I later received it in about 3 business days. Upon opening the double packaged box, I was glad to see it packaged very well with strong although soft foam on both corners and one directly in the center. In the box there was included hardware and allen keys for the terminals, also there were "Docking Pads" to reduce amplifier vibrations. The listed dimensions of the amplifier are 16.4 x 8.9 x 2.2 and weighs in around approximately 15 pounds. I was greeted with a very aesthetically pleasing and simple design. The top has machined heat sin…

Intro: Today I will be testing 14 different brands of 1/0 power wire. The brands I will be testing are brands that I have found in builds on this forum and have been recommendation to test by other members on the SSA forum. Lately on the forums I have been noticing people asking a variety of question in regards to 1/0 wiring as in to flex and a comparison of different brands of wires and how thick each wire is in comparison to other brands. So I thought it was time for side by side wire comparison of different brands of wire that I have commonly found in use or have been suggested to me by others. A little background about myself I have done about five different builds …

So last night I took around an hour or so to write up some huge review on my new pair of 18'' Sound Solution Audio Xcons. Unfortunately there was a url glitch and the thread is gone, so I will try to sum up my product review instead of another 5000 word essay. The SSA Xcon is an amazingly solid driver that has absurd amounts of low end output (on little power might I add) and still acts incredibly responsive, the sound quality of this sub does not hold back its ability to "get loud" one bit. I feel that the Xcon is a very under appreciated driver in today's market, so luckily for you all interested in this sub, I'm taking more time to write this second review. My enclosur…

Company: Alpine Product Name: PDX 1000 Length of Ownership: 2-3 months Rate 1-5: ***** Pros: Size, VERY User Friendly, Just about everything. Cons: I would of liked the speaker terminals better if they were fiberglass instead of plastic.. thats about it. The PDX 1000 is an amazing amplifier.. its sexy and packs a punch! I had it pushing two 12" Alpine Type R's (3rd gen) and it was an amazing set-up and i miss it everyday! This amplifier is my favorite to date, i would recommend this amplifier to ANYone that wants a great 1000wrms at 2 and 4 ohms I really wish for Alpine to start making PDX series amps with 2-6kwrms!

Recently I purchased two 12 inch ssds from Fi car audio. I was looking for something loud yet retain good sound quality. I first built a box which is 4.5 cubes tuned to 33 hz. I have them hooked up at 1 ohm to a US amps Md2. At first i thought the low end was lacking so i contacted scott and told him and he told me about the copper coils vs the aluminum coils. Well the copper coils made that much of a differnce because i love these subs. They play the lows nicely and get loud. The sound quality could be better. But being that im a bass head it doesnt bother me at all. Compared to a sx which everyone wants to compare them to. I would say they are alike except more musical …

Let me first start off by thanking the guys at Fi. Scott, Shawn and Nick are awesome guys to deal with. I would have no problem recommending them to a friend or dealing with them myself again. They got back to me extremely quickly whenever I had questions. It just blows my mind that someone like Scott can work an eight hour day, then come home and continue to help his customers. On to the goods, I have a pair of DVC 1 ohm 12

Well, around december i received my 12" Fi Q from my uncle who knew me too well i guess. It was given as a gift. So im going to break down this topic into the reveiw first, then into my ?'s Packaging, First Impressions: Upon opening the box, the sub was wrapped well and contained in a nice packaged box. only one of the blue things were somewhat worn, so it was slopped down a little, but as i said it was a gift, and probably not handled the best. But still was in perfect shape When i opened the sub up to take it out and expect at the house, the first thing i noticed was how nice the magnet frame was painted. No scuffs. Later, after more inspection i noticed how stiff the s…

The SSD is a great sub... fing34.gif The SSD is currently being powered by a SAZ-1500d on my stock electrical along with my beautiful Pioneer 860mp as the captain of the ship Anywho When I first purcahsed the sub I only had a 4.5 cu ft ported enclosure for its home and well lets say it was a great experience to say the least. 4.5 cu ft review: 4.5 cu ft enclosure didn't really provide the SQ that I was looking for but it was loud and allowed it to produce a substantial amount of spl. Very noticable to the point it would tickle my ears and this is one sub mind you had friends that rode in my car think I had 2 subs. I enjoyed the 4.5 cu ft enclosure but due to me having cop…

Ordering process and packaging. I posted in a topic at SSA asking if they were available in D4 coils because they only listed D2 the places I looked. Nick told me they could do D4 and to email him if I was interested. So following various threads here and other places I decided to go with the Flatlynes because I like to be different and not to many people have them. I emailed Nick(Incriminator) on the 22nd of December and got a reply within a half an hour. I sent payment 10 minutes after I got a reply and an hour after that he emailed me and told me they were added to the list. After all the holidays he emailed me on the 5 of January and told me they were going o…

So I've been using both equipment for a week now. I'll start with the XCON. It is in a 2 cu. ft. Net and tuned to 32 hz. It sounds amazing from higher bass notes to the low notes. Ppl can't believe its one 12 even though they are staring at it. It has a very nice deep tone with very good accuracy. The lows are INCREDIBLE! This subs moves so much air. I haven't listened to any bass so far i didn't like with this speaker. I like a lot of rock and rap. Not to mention it looks great. Didn't seem to take long to loosen up. I love it, just wish I had one more. Now on to the amp. I previously had a mtx thunder elite 1501d running at 2 ohms. All i did was Change the sub, box, and…

Ok, so I am trying to decide between a couple of options here. I have a Hifonics BRZ2400.1D amp but do not know how to properly upgrade my electrical for that amount of power. Ideally, I would do the least amount of upgrades as possible since these set ups can get pricey lol any help with that would be amazing! Also, I will either be using Fi Q 15's or Fi BL 12's (both dual 1's). I am leaning towards getting a Scion tC, but I am unsure if a 7.0 cuft box will fit in the cargo space without folding the seats down and if two Fi Q 15's or two FI BL 12's would be an overkill setup in the tC. I will not be upgrading the component speakers anytime soon so would I still be able t…

Well to start off with, the BL only has the pole chamfer upgrade and is in a 3.7 cf box tuned to 33 Hz in a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon hatch. I am powering it with a MB Quart RAA1000 (Soon to be Sundown SAE1000), stock alt, and battery (no dimmage ) Now to the good stuff...When I came home and saw the box I was so excited (I was actually denied admission to UF earlier that day but I didnt give a sh!t cause I had this monster ) and I opened the box and wow, this sub looked freakin nice. I opened up all the packaging and carefully inspected every little nook and cranny of the sub and was drooling the whole time. I have dealt with many subwoofers from kicker l7s, eclipse, aa…

Alright so here it goes. As soon as I unpackaged them I saw the quality of these subs. Good solid construction, spiders, tinsel leads, everything seemed perfect. Currently, I am using two 15" Icons and tuned them really low at 27hz and wow, musical reproduction is amazing. Obviously, great output at the lower end and plays kick drums flawlessly. My girlfriend listens to some hardcore music, and these subwoofers easily sound the best and pick up on every note that should be played and dig down low on those bass drops. Overall, phenomenal subwoofers with both sound quality and output in mind. Id recommend these subs for anyone, the absolute best subwoofers iv owned …

2 12" ssa icons (prototype?) review First thing I noticed when I unpackaged them was how well built they were. The huge triple stack motor, well you guys can read the specs but the craftsmanship on these drivers is top notch. In my setup I had dual 1ohm drivers wired to 1ohm on saz-1500d amp. My electrical is stock besides the big 3 done, so I couldn't really take full advantage of the amp, but that was okay because the icons still got loud, very loud. I probably had the gain turned up 2/5 on the saz. First song I played was Narayan by The Prodigy, bass kicking in at 0:44 sounding nice and crisp at low volume, got a couple rattles here and there in the jeep. I then turne…

Initial tests conclude what i had expected. Clean, clear, deep and plenty loud. I feel transients would benefit from a huge ported box but for all intended purposes, the small sealed is sufficient. Rather tight sounding. I love it. Its only day 1. I forgot to take the camera but here is the finished product. Very crisp, neutral sound. It's evident the subs need some time to loosen up a bit. At uncomortable volumes the subs are moving a CH over 1/4" or so. These are a quality product, and mike is a stand up dude to deal with. A small dent in one of the woofer cones was worth a $70 credit for me. Very pleased with my decision to put faith into soundsplinter. I'm…

Alright. I have had this car for two weeks now. I have driven just a tad over 1500 miles as well. The verdict is good. It managed 34.7 mpg average on the Cape May NJ trip (~300 miles each way). It manages 23 mpg city easily and even on shorter highway trips (ie. work) it manages to average 27 mpg weekly. Not bad for a brand new motor that isn't completely broken in. MY car is a 2008 Jeep Patriot: -5 speed manual and otherwise it's the base car with cruise control added. My bluetooth kit is ordered, and the factory 6 cd changing headunit will be going in soon, as well as the highline wheels. Highway thoughts: -Seats are incredibly comfortable even after 4:45 sitting in th…

Hi guys, so here to show a short write up of my recently purchased HIDs from DDMTuning.com. First image is of what was all purchased. I will note that I first made order on Jan 1st, it was accepted on the 3rd, and received shipping number on the 4th. I basically did not see any update until it was here state side from China. I was told all 55watt ballasts are shipped from China. I also was never contacted back from their support team which was reached out twice via email and once via facebook. Items arrived on the 19th in NY, and arrived at my local post office the morning of 21st and arrived at my door on the 22. This image of the packageing. Here is whats in the box …

A Mini RE Audio XXX 15 Review Ok well i have been lucky enough to have the chance to play with an origional RE Audio XXX 15. I once had this in the boot and passed on the opportunity to buy this exact driver and i now regret that but ill come back to that. First a little bit about the driver. This particular model dates back to 2005 and is radically different in design to the current generation of RE Audio XXX's. The current design uses a split coil while the first generation were a XBL motor design. While it is hard to find information on these drivers the first generation used an XBL^2 motor design. Following a fall out between RE Audio and Dan Wiggins (owner to the Pat…

Brand: Apline Model: CDA-9887 Rating: I would give it a 5 out of 5 Pros: Ok, so I just go my new head unit put in and it has 10 times better sound output then my last deck a Clarion VRX755 (which is a DVD/CD player). I think some of it might be going from 2 volt preouts to 4 volt preouts. But, I figured that wouldn't matter since I was running (and still am running) a line driver. Cons: The only thing I see being a con is if you are not sure how panoramic and graphic EQ’s work it could be a problem, along with setting the time delay by ear. But they take care of that if you have the mic for the sound imprint feature. Other then that I would say there is no problems wi…
