Hey all, I have done some research and could only find one head unit that would run .FLAC files or any lossless audio codec. And this head unit was super expensive and hard to find. Does anyone know a good way around this like a media player that can play them and will hook up to the head unit? Would auxillary cables degrade the quality aspect of FLAC making it pointless to try playing them on a MP3 player of some sort? Thanks guys.

i have a jvc kwnx700, a TEAC 200 watt two channel, and a set of phoenix gold components. Recently, I bought a Fi Bl 12" , a sundown Saz-1500d, and an optima yellow top for the trunk. I wired up the batt with 1/0 welding cable and tested my high amp. it worked great. I hooked up the sub amp with 1/0 and using the old remote turn on from my previous sub set up. It didn't kick on. I then tried my remote turn on that i used on my highs. it still didn't power up. i then went back up front and found my radio off. that remote wire was spliced into the power for my HU. Could I have caused a short by yanking on it? Why wouldn't the sub amp kick on? any help would be greatly apprec…

I am looking for the screws that some amplifiers use to screw down wires into the amp channels and power/ground/remote etc. You have to use an allen wrench to tighten/loosen them. I do not know what they are called or where I can get them. I need some because I have 4 missing from my amp. 2 for a channel on the amp and 1 for the power and 1 for the ground. Im sure I can get them somewhere local but I'd like to order in bulk off the internet. So if you know the name of them I would appreciate it if you would share your ungodly wisdom upon me. Thanks in advance ~MadroX

  6. So i believe my headunit can go up to number 35 for volume. When playing music, around 12 is pretty decent loudness, but up to around 16 is pretty loud. and i dont think i would ever turn it above 20. when there is no music playing, my speakers hiss quite loud. the same volume of hiss can be heard when the headunit volume is set from 1 to around 10. any volume above 10 on the headunit, then the speakers his increases with each volume increase. i dont really notice the hiss when theres music playing. just wondering, is this normal? is it a bad sign? how might i go about fixing it?

Ok so some of you may have read my other thread about the RF amp. Well I put my AQ 4X90 back in and bridged it on my fronts and got a naaaasty engine whine. I checked the ground, it was tight. I tried both my sub rca's and another pair of rca's they both make the noise. Sub amp makes no noise. When I disconnect the rca's the noise stops. I moved the ground so that my sub amp and the AQ's grounds were seperate, still got the noise. The noise stays loud regardless of head unit volume. I put the RF amp back in and it makes the same noise. I'm very clueless and frustrated. I followed the noise guide but none of it helped.

  10. Sunday i finally got my amp installed at the local shop.. (soundstream ref 2.640) I drive an 06 xterra so we put it in "gully" of the back above the spare tire. Drove home.. noticed a slight smell figured it was the amp burning in... drove to work monday am.. no issues .. driving home monday the amp started cutting out on me.. got home lifted the "cover" of the area where the amp was noticed it was VERY VERY hot to touch and the amber light on .... figured wow guess there is not enough airflow..and the amp over heated...(not sure if you ever saw the back of an xterra but this is a big space) so figured i would just take the cover off... drove to work this am.. no proble…

Well, I've installed a complete new system in a friends SUV (minus a headunit). Everything is going great and just trying to tweak thinks a bit. One thing that is real obvious is the low bass extension. Is this a problem with having a LOC instead of an aftermarket unit. I have heard that this can be a problem in my situation. Is there a cure for this? I would like her to have full range capabilities. Thanks.

Ok. So I put the zcon's and the 2500d in. Now when I set the gain using the dd1 till I can get ahold of my friend with the oscope, the voltage goes down to 12.5. I have a mechman 270, big 3 in 0 gauge, ran the pos and neg from front to rear batt in 0 gauge, installed fuse in front, fuse in rear, soldered all connections. Rear batt is a diehard platinum 31m marine agm with 205 reserve, but yet when I turn volume up to around 30 out of 35, amp goes into protect mode and volts drop to 12.5. (Radio was o scoped at 40hz and 1k hz and had no clipping evident)Even at 1500 rpm. Am I missing something or is the saz2500d drawing that much amperage? Also speaker wire was 14 gauge. A…

Hi fellas I have a question that will I'm sure be easy for you to answer. I have never ran bigger than 4 gauge wire, never upgraded the big 3, and never dealt with any of these following products. First the wire I will be ordering is http://www.wireandsupply.com/product_p/sgx-2-fslash-0-fslash-01.htm . The lugs I will be using are http://shop.genuinedealz.com/Marine%20Electrical%20Supply/Tinned%20Copper%20Cable%20Lugs/00%20AWG%20Tinned%20Lug/?sck=12205831 . My question is what size ends should I get, they offer from 1/4 - 5/16 for the 2/0 gauge wire. I plan to use them on the 2/0 gauge upgrading the big 3, I plan to use them on my battery terminals, and I plan to use them…

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...mMakeTrack=true second time it's been listed for $200. First time they tried to sell it, it had a $5000 Buy It Now It obviously didnt sell the first time. So I emailed the seller asking for a lower price. They promptly told me to get lost and if I was really interested I would have bid. So is it worth $200 (plus $15 s&h)? Whose that guy on here that has a few? How do you like them?

Alright, I can get this amp for 350$ maybe a little cheaper. Would this be good for an 18" btl? I don't want to push 4400 rms, becuase my box is 7cb ft, so I figure I could just put the gain down a great amount. I know these are power hungry, but aren't tehy like 450 amp draw? I would have 2 C&D tech batteries (88 amp/hr with a rating of 340 watts/cell), 2 ought wiring, 200 amp alt, and soon down the line upgraded under the hood batt. Would that be sufficient? Would these be a good match if I set the gain according to like 2500 watts?

Anybody using/have used this xover? Pros, cons, noise issues? As a now I'm running an Audio Control DQXS to cross my bass mids and tweets. My plan is to add the HK3X into the mix to bandpass the midbass and continue to let the DQXS handle the subs midrange and tweets.
