Wondering what you guys think are some good amps with something of this configuration. 1200-1500w @ 2ohm. Class D, mono sub amp, Simple xo would be nice, I like allen-set screws for terminals. Dependable, clean, and consistant on output. Also, something I don't have to spend $800 on. thanks.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances (dealing with a disreputable online retailer) it appears like I will shortly be in possession of 2 amps instead of one. I had just wanted a 2 channel amp to power my Phoenix Gold RSD65cs components and then I was going to determine whether or not to add rear fill or a sub with another amp down the road. But now, I have an MB Quart DSC280 (80x2 at 4ohm) and a Planet Audio RX4.400 (100x4 at 4ohm) to be delivered this week. My wife is less than impressed with this turn of events and says I can only keep one and will have to sell the other. My first question is, assuming I follow orders, which amp do I keep. I'm pretty sure the MB Quart …

  3. Currently i only have a need for an alternator in the low 200's (i'm looking at one at 220) for an 18" Fi BTL. My question is as follows; Is there any harm in buying an alternator that produces more amps then you need?? For example, i will probably put in another BTL in the future and i would like to just buy one 350 alternator now. So if i put a 350 or 320 alternator in my car, which only needs about 220 amps, would it cause any harm to my vehicle? Would it cause harm to my battery? Amplifier? On a side note, any of you fellas try out the Kinetic HC 3800??? Thanks!

  4. Hey guys I am hoping one of you guys know what is wrong with my amp.. It is a older model rockford t1000 and it worked fine a few weeks ago, my sub stopped playing and I assumed I blew the sub and I found out I did. Well I find out that the amp won't power up or anything.. It popped the 150amp fuse on the amp itself and then I replaced that fuse and it popped the in-line fuse to my 4awg power cable. Soooooo I replaced that fuse and when the amp turns on it makes a very high pitched squealing sound and then pops a fuse.. There is a loose rattling on the inside but it has been that way and worked fine since I have had it even though it rattles on the inside. Should I take i…

I currently have a Pioneer 9800BT headunit with the ipod interface. I want to run active and unfortunately this headunit is not capable of meeting my needs. I want a headunit that is very SQ and processing oriented. I was looking at the Pioneer 880prs hoping that it could be a direct drop in. What is the difference between the 800 and the 880prs? Also is the new eclipse CD7200MKII far superior then the 880prs? and how does the alpine 9887 stack up in this lineup. This headunit will run to a sundown 100.4 amp which amps Peerless HDS tweets and the sea excel 18nx mids. Any suggestions and opinions would be appreciated.

Planning a build in a 2012 hyundai sonata with the infinity premium system while retaining the stock unit Here's what we have so far Hybrid audio clarus jl hd 600/4 + 750/1 2 jbl gto 12's(IB) No processing as of yet since the head unit schematic is very tricky. Now, from the information I've gathered The stock head unit has a digital out(spdif) that goes to the factory amp. Usually, you'd go straight from head unit to processor, but, if you bypass the factory jbl amp, you lose bluetooth, xm, & am/fm radio. I'm about 90% sure the speakers crossed inside the amp, so I'm lost on what to do here. Tapping after the amp seems like the only option, but I can't seem to f…

I like both - the 9887 has a lot of audio plusses, but I really like the 710's iPod control (fast - no lag) Can you guys weigh in on which you would get? I'm also going to add/ or use the BT feature for handsfree. Please chime in with your experience on either HU. thx!

hey i don't understand why visions in my town when running the speaker wire to the sub used 16 gauge and twirled it around it self so when i unwound it there was probably 7-9 ft just going to the box does twisting the wire do anything or are they just trying to charge for more wire ? I'm redoing it with 12 gauge it's only for a 600rms alpine amp so 12 gauge i figure is plenty

I havn't posted here in awhile since I was comfortable enough with the stereo setup I had in my Altima. But I just bought a new car and need some advice on whether or not I should keep the stock deck and run a LOC or if I should replace it with an aftermarket deck. A little background on the vehicle, 2007 Chrysler 300 with a sound package that gives me 8 speakers and an amplifier to run them. Three 3.5s on the dash, 2 6x9s in the front doors, 2 6x9s on the rear deck, an infinite baffle 8 inch subwoofer housed in the rear deck and a 368w amplifier. I kept the amplifier(sae100d) and subwoofer(z15) from my previous install, so they will handle the low bass. I don't plan on c…

My H/U only puts out 2v. Figured this could help so I bought one. Im tryna set it to about 5V. Got the cover off and everything. But how do I check what voltage its at? I put a DMM on the outside of the rca plug and it stayd at 0. Put the prongs on the inside and the numbers went crazy! What am I doing wrong? Do I have to have the LD installd and the rca's hookd up before adjusting the voltage?

Ok well i got rid of the D3, and got a CDA-9887. LOL, bid difference i know. But before i've even done any sound setup or tweaking my subs instantly sounded better after they were turned on. But DAMN there are alot of sound options. I tried for 10 mins just to setup the HPF so i can take the bass out of the front and rear speakers to no avail. Needless to say at this point i feel kinda dumb. But i've been really busy today so i haven't had a chance to read the manual. I knew this deck had alot of options but man this is rediculous. I still have the stock hi's in my car but i plan on changing them out. And i know that everyone is going to say go ACTIVE. So before…

I recently caught a GREAT deal on one of these.. only problem is that the CD player isn't functional. That isn't an issue at all considering it's got USB & iPod inputs. However, I tried plugging a thumb drive into the USB input & it won't read it. It shows iPod when I connect it but you need the iPod integration cable to use it, so I know nothing is wrong w/the USB input. Does my flash drive need to me formatted a certain way? Do I need a certain thumb drive? Why isn't the one I've currently got working? This is the drive I'm using: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sandisk-4GB-Cruzer-USB-Flash-Drive-Aqua/16648010

Quick question since I can't find the answer myself. The A5000 is rated at 600x1 (bridged) a 4 ohms. Will it work ok bridged at 2 ohms? I know the old Sound Stream Reference (Ref500) amps would be ok like this. I have 0 experience with Cadence amps though. What do you think?
