whats up. i just bought a 95' taurus. im running two btls in the back seat walled off, powered by two saz2500s, and also a four chanell. i was just wondering how many feet of power and ground wiring i would need to power everthing. thanks

I just bought a brand new sound ordnance 4 channel amp and am still waiting for a new set of speakers for my car. in the meantime I decided to test out a pair of some old alpine type r 6.5s I pulled out of my old car. they don't fit so I put them in a hasty cardboard box to put in the backseat. after installing the amp and hooking up the speakers as rears with the rcas and unplugging my rear stock speakers the alpine hooked up to the amp weren't playing at all. I remember these speakers were working perfectly before and have just been sitting in my house since. Here's my old school Alpine MRV-F352. I used this for about 2.5 years or so and one day the 5th channel when out. The other four-channels still work fine. I've sent a few pics of the damage. Could some one tell me what I should do with this amp. I don't really need it anymore, but I don't think many people would want a 5 channel amp that only has 4 channels that work. The damaged part is in the upper right hand corner. You can see the burn marks just under the model number. Hey I'm trying to build a system for my 2000 nissan pathfinder...and unfortunately it only has a 90 amp alt, and I don't want to buy a H.O. alt, so how much power can I safely run? I was planning on getting an Arc Audio 1500v1 XXK, which I didn't realize is a class A/B monoblock amp that puts out 1000 watts RMS...so i'm guessing it's not as efficient as a class D of the same power... soo i could do the big 3 upgrade...but is a 1000 watt class A/B monoblock not a good idea for a 90 amp stock alt? thanks for the help

i was talkin to my dad about doin the big 3 with an HO alt on my car and he said goin from the alt to the engine would be a problem, cuz the stock wire has to go thru some kinda box, maybe circuitbreaker or fusebox? iono. this is gonna usin 1/0 gauge wire. 1st step of my 3rd system overhaul. thanks for your help pple!

Hello all, am new to this forum and seeking help. I currently have a 850CCA battery under the hood and wanting your opinion on adding either the KHC 16V Power Cell or the KHC 2000 to my system. I was thinking that the 16V would supply the voltage to the amp to put out full power and do a good job supply power, while with the KHC 2000 i may still have the 13.8 volts that i currently have ( or not, am not sure) but will surely have the power needed to run the system. I have a 230 amp HO alternator and the big 3 done (jointed 2 4 gauge wires together for each run, may need to change to 0 gauge?). I have a AQ2200D amp and 2 12" Incriminator Audio Death Rows. simple question... if i remove the cover on my amp so the guts are showing under the plexiglass, and mount a pair of fans similar to this: http://74.175.101.66/dealer/itemdesc.asp?C...amp;eq=&Tp= one per side pushing/pulling to create good cross ventilation, do you think it would be adequate? I think that i am going to hang onto my mtx a little longer since for the price i can't really beat it, and since i don't really like the looks i wanted to try exposing the board. how dramatically will this affect the amps cooling capabilities?

Hey guys, here's my predicament. I currently have an Alpine 9881 that I use to control my 6.5" Component set of adire koda's up front. The koda's run off a Rockford 800a2 @ 4 ohms getting...maybe 150rms I think. However, I know I can get some better SQ out of them if I pick up my head unit features. Here's some of the things i am hoping for and what I am not really worried about. Need: Good iPod control ( I love the alpine one now, but am open to others) HP and LP filters (The 9881 now only has very limited options). please post what are the best 2000watt amps @ 2ohms. looking for something thats consistant or under rated at 2000 watts. it will be used to run 2 10" ssa icons in a ported enclosure.

I'm interested in a 14v setup, I'm not sure how many batteries I'll need since they're only 50ah. I have a 320a Mechman externally regulated alt. I will be running 4 3500's at .5 each. My car starts freaking out at around 15v, so a 16v setup with a stepdown is a must, but I'm not sure how many I need for my car/accessories to run since the ones from XS are only 50a maximum.

I will be running a 4-channel amp to run my mids/highs, so I'm looking into a 4-channel RCA set. I've heard people say that it really doesn't matter how good the quality of the cable is, and I've heard the opposite. How do you think these would perform? I have Amazon Prime, so $12.41 with 2-day shipping sounds pretty sweet. Are they worth it, or should I go with something else?

Due to my battery hookup location and the fact that it will be nearly impossible to get a 0 gauge wire on it unless I rewire the alternator and main power line toa new battery block, how bad would it be to run 4 gauge wire to a fuse block and 0 gauge afterwards? According to charts 4 gauge should be able to handle up to 300 Amos if it is a short length. So will battery —> fuse (4 gauge 1 ft long) —> distribution block (0 gauge guessing 13 ft long). Will this work ok?

I just purchased a sundown 100.4. I'm going to run 6.5's in the kicks and two 3 inch mid ranges in my front pillars. I am going to band-pass channel's 3&4 with the subsonic filter set at 150 hz then setting the Low pass frequency crossover at 4,500Hz for the 6.5. Then channels 1&2 would be set on High Pass and the High Pass Crossover set at 750Hz for my pillars. I will also be running tweeters, those will be running on channels 1&2 also, but those will have a passive crossover set at around 5khz. This is just a rough draft. Now I was wondering can I use my o scope to setup the crossover network. The dials don't have any accurate marks neither do they click.…

Trying to figure out what size alternator I'm going to need and how many batteries I'll need. I'm figuring at least a 250 amp alt and 2 D3100 powermasters, plus a yellow top under the hood. Will be running a Clif Designs 4800.1lx and probably a Sundown 100.2 or 125.2. Is there a way to calculate what I'll need or is this all a guessing game?

i have a kicker zx1000.1 rated at 1258 watts total at 2ohms, and im goin to be buyin an 15" Fi BL soon with the p chamfer and the daily option on it. i listen to rap 99% of the time. so will that power be enough for a daily 15" Fi BL?? thanks
