im gonna be doing a install in my girlfriends ride shortly. up front im giving her 5.25 alpine type x comps that have been sitting around. this will be powered with a audiobahn a6004v(don't ask)..anywho i need to know should i turn the amps hp xover to flat or should i just run the amps xover...what do u guys suggest?

So I emailed the seller asking for a lower price. They promptly told me to get lost and if I was really interested I would have bid. So is it worth $200 (plus $15 s&h)? okay so heres the deal. i have 2 ssa icons, thinking (going to buy) adding 2... more so here: 4 SSA icons 12's i need amps to power them. i'm looking at spending $750 (about) for amps (would love to only run 2) was thinking about hifonics brutus but after reading some posts they seem like garbage. what amps? another question would be nice to be answer is: how would you go upon hooking up 2 subs to a single monoblock? is it as simple as twisting wires togeather or is it no advised to do such thing.

I have a Soundstream RUB 1600 watt amp wire at 1 ohm. When I set my gains I used the typical 50hz, sub wires disconnected, etc... I set the voltage to 40 volts on the nuts. Hooked everything back up and let er rip. Sounds fine. Well I finally got around to mounting the amp and cleaning up the wires. Before I did that though I double checked my gains. Voltage was at 47 volts? What would cause it to rise like that? I used the same tone as before. So I have been checking it off and on for the last couple days and sure enough, volts keep rising up even the the gain knob hasn't been touched. Any idea on why it would do this? My friend just got a Sundown 3,000 for his truck. I brought up the idea of maybe trading my DD M3a for his SAZ3,000. He's doesn't care either way. What would you do and why? Side notes: For now I will have one amp on 2 ZCON 18"s at .5 ohm. Then get a second of either and have each at 1 ohm daily, and .25 for shows and such.

i just wanna know if anyone thinks this is good for about 2000w on stock alt puttin 13.9-14v idle and 14v+ engine rev. with 1000cca starter bat and kinetik 2000 in back all 0ga big three and such. i am not a competitor, not lookin to get the full 4k out of the amp, before everyone starts saying how you have to run it at 18v to see 4k. just wanna know if this is good enough to get 2000w for 2 12" fissd's. i have done searches also before i get flamed for this, but the few that wasn't bashing this amp were old ones for sale or people trying to get the full 4k from it, or modding it for 1 ohm use. dont need all that just 2k is fine for me, thanks.

So I have had my 12" Icon all but a month now and I feel like its time to get it an amplifier that will make it happy. Right now it is being powered from a JL Audio 500/1 and it seems to take it with pleasure. So far it has made a great addition to my Toyota Camry. What I will be doing is upgrading the power for the Icon and re-doing the front stage hopefully in the spring. I want to buy a cd400 r/b but it says i need the Eclipse ipc-106. Now when i do a seach one item is just a simple wire(ECLIPSE iPC-106 iPOD iPHONE INTERFACE ADAPTER GENUINE - eBay (item 290471501209 end time Jan-31-11 11:36:02 PST)) and one is a $150 item(ECLIPSE NEW IPC-106 IPOD ADAPTER INTERFACE IPC106 - eBay (item 370475059712 end time Feb-12-11 13:49:25 PST)). has any one ran power to a 2d blazer, i all ready ordered 25 feet but im wondering if i will need to get more, i am running one line from pos to pos on my powermaster and and the pos to amp and hopefully use it for a ground too, any one from experiance think 25 feet will do it

So I need help, I have a 2008 ford escape and currently I have my system(2 12"s) hooked up to the stock radio through a line output convertor. I believe that my system would sound twice as good if I was to install an aftermarket head unit. Just wondering some of your thoughts on the Powerbass series of amplifiers. Good quality? Underrated, Overrated? I am thinking of this being it is cheaper.... or Sundown 1500d. It is about cost, but reliability It will be put on a Fi BL 15" in a 4.0cuft box tuned to 32hz. Powerbass 1500d.

Can someone tell me a little about the total harmonic distortion value on amps as far as what the max acceptable level should be & what I should look for on one? I have seen most mid range amps at around 0.02 to 0.05. Is this something I need to concern myself with or is the difference going to so little I won't even notice? Thanks

i finally hooked up my system today, but i need to set up my aq2200d properly. i know how to set the gain with a dmm, but i couldn't turn the gain up high enough to reach the voltage i got.(54.41) Also what should i set the ssf/lpf to. The dial for lpf is only 20-200 or something like that, nothing in between, so were should i set it approxiamately? same with the ssf. My substage consists of a ss Rl-p 18 in 5 cubic foot box tuned to 27 hz. thanks!

Tracy, I saw some info in here the other day about the newer amp lines. I was hoping for a refresher and also wondering along the lines of AB power... 750X2 @ 1 or 4 Ohms or so, maybe 1500 @ 2Ohms. Basically I mant alot of controll, like one of the new lines seemed to offer. I am going to be powering 2 Brahmas (I needed a little more umph ). I am hoping to keep them in a foot each so power needs to be about 750-1100 or so per driver. I like the Cadence Z1500, or a pair of Z9000s. I am even kicking DEI around (2400D) but it is a D amp. I really want an AB. Also I was wondering if you might hit me some rough prices up. Thanks Bud, Seth

used dc power engineering alternatotrs will they put out to spec?

With two D1 ohm subs if wired in series for a 4 ohm load with two 1500rms 1ohm mono amps strapped would that give me a final load on the amps of 2ohms being there strapped? If wired in series/parallel for a 1 ohm load with two 1500rms 1ohm mono amps strapped would that give me a final load on the amps of .5ohm strapped? Also out of all the researching I've done regarding strapping, is it true that 2 strapped 1500rms 1ohm mono amps be like a 3k 2ohm amp? I posted this elsewhere also n I believe they answered wrong considering everything I find its double the power/ohm just wanna get another opinion in a better worded post

Why does everyone run 2 Kinetik Hc1800s instead of 1 HC3800? You get more power and its easier to set up and its the same price if not cheaper. Would this battery also be enough with the two amps and a 200A alternator?

Hello, i have 2 SSA ICON 12's powered by two Phoenix gold ryvals 1000watts each. each sub with their own amp. so i keep blowing the fuse and my fuse holder is now melted. so it got me thinking about taking out the inline fuse completely. good or bad?
