If I wanted to run say.. 3k at 1ohm would a 170amp alt and a yellow top in the back be sufficient? With the stock battery up front and the big 3 done obviously.

  3. So i am in a debate between the Fi BL 15 and Fi BTL 15, the deciding factor is wether or not i will have the electrical support for the amplifier. I am wondering if i would have enough electrical to keep up with the Hifonics BXi2610d to run on the BTL... Here are my specs... Electrical: Stock Alternator 105 Amps Stock Battery Up Front Big Three in 1/0 One run of 1/0 to Trunk Power Acoustik 5.0 Farad Cap. ( start criticizing, it will be gone in the new setup) I have been running 1100rms at 2-ohms with little noticable dimming while sitting still, but none while driving. I plan to add a Kinetik 1200 in the rear with the new installation. My voltage has never dipped below 1…

The other day I was just minding my own business, coming home from work, and all of a sudden my car's mids and highs just stop, and my car fills with smoke. Now I'm out a four channel, and the outputs on my deck burnt up, so I JUST have bass to listen to for the time being. :l Anyways, I just need a two channel to run my Type R 6.5 components up front, so they can keep up with my fifteens Previous products that you have used: Blaupunkt 470 is the only Fourchannel I've ever used. Budgetary constraints: Somewhere around $400 max. Vehicle which the equipment will be used in: 2001 Jetta, only powering one set of components. Musical preferences: Dubstep and Rap. System goals:…

  5. Current setup is in sig. I ordered my XCON a couple of weeks ago and I'm shopping around for amps to power it. It'll go in an optimal ported enclosure. I've checked db-r.com and the classifieds in caraudio.com, here, ebay, amazon, and woofersetc. Sundown amps, DB Drive amps, Crescendo, Cadence, Audiopipe, Nakamichi, Planet Audio, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting to name. I know 300w or even 600w will make the XCON pound, but with a 200A alt, I can get up to 1200w each. My goals are mostly SPL, but I hope to retain the SQ that I am LOVING with my ID components. I'm sure the XCON can make a seamless transition from blending in with the front stage, to breathtaking c…

Alright well earlier this year my headunit crapped out (stock ford explorer 2002 xlt) and wouldn't pull the cd in, the things that pull and eject the cd don't work. Then randomly it started working, and after getting my car repaired it stopped. So now my Bday is on sunday, and I figure I might as well get a new headunit. I'm looking for a decent, affordable headunit. Near the 150$ dollar range I guess. More or less, Idk how much to be exact and I know I can't get that good of a headunit for that price but it should be better than nothing. I'm looking for subwoofer rca output, preferably 4v preout or higher (idk, maybe 2v won't be that bad?), iPod Touch (1st gen) hookup a…

I was originally thinking of going with the alpine 9886 unit, but are there any other notable HU that stand with this unit. Ive looked at pioneers, dont really like their single knob and form, Ive looked at Eclipses, and I dont really like the display, But I havnt looked at Kenwoods, im sort of thinking they lack in quality but my buddy has a touch screen and loves it, so he recommended get a Kenwood. Im looking for a single din, roughly $300 which will have ipod control, and nice 4v pres.

I had been using an RE Audio XTX3000.1 but decided to move over to the new Sun Down. On paper they're very close in specs but in real life it seems like the RE has substantially more power output. I have the gain turned all the way up on the SAZ-1500D with no clipping and still isn't real strong until I turn the volume way up. The RE gets louder and a much lower volume levels. Any idea if this is normal? I'm sure both companies probably rate their amps different. FWIW, I'm running a fully loaded Fi Q12 in a sealed 1.2 cu ft box (after sub displacement). I've got a Diehard Platinum battery with 1/0 AWG big 3 done.

I just purchased a sundown 100.4. I'm going to run 6.5's in the kicks and two 3 inch mid ranges in my front pillars. I am going to band-pass channel's 3&4 with the subsonic filter set at 150 hz then setting the Low pass frequency crossover at 4,500Hz for the 6.5. Then channels 1&2 would be set on High Pass and the High Pass Crossover set at 750Hz for my pillars. I will also be running tweeters, those will be running on channels 1&2 also, but those will have a passive crossover set at around 5khz. This is just a rough draft. Now I was wondering can I use my o scope to setup the crossover network. The dials don't have any accurate marks neither do they click.…

i've had my sae 1200d for 5months now. Yesterday when i was bumpin it a fuse blew. I replaced the blown fuse and everything was working fine. Today when i was listening to it at low volume, well my volume goes up to 30 and i put it at 23-24, so anyway i played it at 15 and nothing happened. When i put my bass to +3 its usually on -3 the fuse blew again. How can i fiz this issue?? If this is a voltage problem im going to get an xs battery soon, money is tight right now so i had to choose between some second skin or the battery. And so i bought 20sqft of damplifier and it sounds GREAT, MAJOR difference, it cleared up the sound and theres no more rattle. But anyway what shou…

Need some advice, I need to purchase a 4 channel amp the choice between sundown 125.4 or ice 150.4 The only thing that's holding me back from buying the sundown is I've just read its a D class compared to the SPL ice 150.4 which is a a/b class. Would there be a big difference in sound quality on my mid & tops? I use a sundown 1500d v3 on the bass but I need a 4 channel to go with it. Thoughts please

  19. Sooo... I took advantage of the black today sale and I ordered a xcon18" D2. And I can either get the new sundown 1500D ($400 shipped NEW). Or find a new 2000D ($? Used/refurb). What would you recomend? (Based solely on either 250 over or under...) im not to worried about the little price difference if there is one. I think that im leaning towards the 2000d . Just because 250 more watts on a 1750watt sub doesn't seem like that much more. Problem is finding one. Db-r doesn't have any now. Will be ordering it in december some time. Just want opinions. I guess ill go ahead and let you guys know this is my very first system. And install of any kind(never have even installeda …

I went to reinstall my 1500d, but after only glancing at what side the power and ground are on I mixed them up. Ive heard the 1500d has internal fuses, but after seeing the protect light I took it out and didnt see any fuses on the inside. Am I out of luck and blew my amp? I tried switching the wires to the correct sides, but I dont get a light period that way.

First of all I want to apologize for another which amp type question...there are a lot of them here but don't have the info I need. I'm going to be running 2 Ascendant Audio Avalance 12" subs (dual 2ohm - 800watts RMS each) and am wondering if a Sundown 2000d will be enough for them? I used to run these way back when they first came out with a US AMPS USA-2000 (2k x1 @ 2 ohms) and was happy with the setup but the class A/B of the amp was a huge strain on my already beefed up electrical system. Also, if there is another quality amp out there that you would recommend other than the Sundown let me know. I've been out of the game for a long time! Thanks!

I just wanted to know if its possible to run the zcon off the sundown @4ohms since the efficency is better and i am happy with 600rms since i will be buying a new car and i want less power but keeping the same equipment since i dont wanna sell/rebuy etc.

I recently came up on a SAE1200d for $125 and after using for a week or so it popped something and it wouldnt work. I took it to a local shop and they said it was the power supply cuz I wasnt giving it enough power so I did the big 3 and im running a 15 fi q at 2ohm. The other day I get it back and have it banging for about 3 days then after work on monday I turn it up and it turns off and it doesnt turn back on. When I get home I check all the fuses and they are good and I turn the car back on and something pops again and smoke comes out and its fried again. Now my question. What could be the culprit?
