What is required for an active speaker system? What features should you look for in a headunit and amplifier?

I want to know which would be best for my system. Im looking at these two amplifiers.. The Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D v2 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SAZ%252d1500D-v.2.html The Hifonics HFi1500D http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22707_Hifonics-HFi1500D.html Either will be powering a Sundown Audio 15" Nightshade at 1 ohm. So 1500wrms from both. Id like to know anyone who had experience with either of these amps and what you recommend for me? I have big 3 with kicker 1/0 all kicker 1/0 wiring and XS 3100. Stock alt. rd audio 3250 is the same amp as a sundown saz-3000? are there more companies out there that use the same amp, but with a different name? just wondering.....

Hi All, Im in the market for a good EQ for my car. I want to control as much as possible without breaking the bank. im no where near sure what makes an EQ good or what a good price for one is. bassically i want to control the subwoofers frequencies. like from 25 to 80. im not sure if there is an EQ out there that has that capability, so thats why im posting. let me know. thanks, Anton Miller

I currently am running my xcon on a hifonics brutus 2009 version that is 1600rms at 1-ohm, I was wondering what would be the main difference between, a saz1500d and a 2000rms at 1-ohm hifonics amp. as in sound quality? and if anyone is better for clean rich power for a decent price, and other amp suggestions or info is great.

I am going to be using my crossfire vr4000d. 4K @ 2ohms. I believe my 2009 caliber srt4 has a 140A stock alt. No H.O. alts are made for this car yet I don't think. What kind of electrical would you guys do for 4K?

What build houses make most internet brand amps. Is a crescendo 3.5ks any different than a AQ 3.5k and so on. What's makes one brands quality better it worse when its all the same shit.

ok so i need a good 4channel for my cdt-ef61fg comps and my pioneer 6x9s in the back so i need a decent amount of power.i was looking at the pg xenon 200.4 or maybe the jbl gto 75.4 but im not sure,do you guys have any other suggestions about some good amps for under $250???? right now i have a crappy alpine mrp-240...(40x4) and the comps kinda sound flat so i need something to bump them up to par....

Hello I have an 86 Crown Vic with a currently fried stock 65 amp alt. I replaced the stock one with a stock replacement junkyard alt about three weeks ago. And it went out again yesterday. I plan on upgrading in the future but for now i plan on doing the big three when i have the chance, Im hoping that will help my alt last a little longer. Im running a kicker 300.1 now to 1 sub. In the future i want to upgrade my system. I plan on buying a Hifonics 1606d for a DC lvl 4 18" i was wondering what type of electrical upgrades i would need i dont want to have to upgrade alt because of the placement of it. i would have to remove part of the tie rod assambly and the hearders on my car to remove

Hi i'm looking for an amp for an Fi BTL 18" fully loaded. I was wondering what the best amp would be for it? I'm not going to be driving around all day with my system turned up all the way, i just want a nice reliable amp that can handle the subs pretty easily that's not like $1200 Thanks

Here's my dilema... I've got a few soundstream class a amps all of which are 2 channel amps with a seperate gain for each channel. I recently picked up a rubicon 555 5 channel amp and could use the 4 channels to run my front actively. I've got a class a 6.0 going to my fronts now. Would I really be able to tell the difference??? This is just for personal use and not competition.

I have 2 Massive Audio D3000.1's right now with the gain turned up about half way. I put a recommended 100amp fuse in the holder... today i got in the car, turned on the stereo and one amp didn't turn on. I checked all the wiring, everything is fine...checked the fuse, fuse was fine. The amp doesnt turn on at all, doesnt go into protect, nothing. I used a multi meter to check the voltage, the remote wire was reading 12v but the power wire is reading 0.03v what happened?? :S

How big does the wire really need to be? For 2k of power to a sub. How many amps are you really putting thru the wire?

Hi, was wondering if anybody could help me. I have been looking around trying to figure out how to cross over my system correctly but have not come up with a clear answer. I am in the process of upgrading my system, currently running 1 fi q on 1 q1-2200d as well as 4 coaxial speakers on an alpine cde-141 with the power pack connected to it. I was running the passive crossovers on the headunit at 80hz but now I am getting another fi q and q1-2200d and taking out the coaxial speakers and replacing them with 2 crescendo 8" pwx and 4 crescendo ft1 tweeters and running them with kicker kx800.2 and kx800.4 amps. I was just wondering what most 1kw + amps do max power at and remain stable according to manufacturer at. If your 1 ohm stable amp can go to .5 ohm stable with some modding lets classify it is as doing max power at 1 ohm for the sake of this thread. Feel free to post what amp you have, what resistance it does max power at, and what rms power at that resistance is.
