Has anyone ever ordered a refurbished amp? How did it work out for you? And would you buy one again?

I just saw a post from xspower and one of the questions answered was it's ability to be used as a starting battery. I want to pick up a shuriken to replace my starting battery and was just wonderin if anyone uses them as a starting batt or if they are able to be used as one. I've read they are similar to kinetiks and saw those being used as starting batts. thanks.

So I was just curious when wiring a voltmeter to my amp, can I just put the power, remote, and negative wire directly into the amp where the battery wires are put in? Or do I have to try and splice them into a "Y" right before they enter the amp?

I'm wondering if there are any differences between the 4200 and 4300 besides the pandora feature? Also does the 4200 charge/play music from a iphone 4? Thanks in advanced.

I am getting a lot of different noises coming out of my speakers. I have had this problem for a while. I thought it was my pioneer head unit but I guess that proved to be false. I have installed all new grounds and everything is wired correctly. I am getting not only alternator whine but ... noise from when I turn my fans on (ac/heat etc) and the noise increases as I increase the fan speed noise when I turn my signal light on or yield lights on - they noise pulses to the clicks of the signal lights noise when I turn my interior lights on and as the lights dim the noise dissipates. The wierd part is, if I turn my car onto accessory the noises are no longer there. These no…

I have a 2008 yukon with the stock alt and a optima yellow top and the big 3...my electrical has always been enough for my setup,im only running around 1300w but a week ago i left my light on and the next day my battery was drained...i jump started it...but now my voltage at driving and iddle drops down to 13v...before it ran around 13.9-14.7v...i used my multimeter and 13v is whats the alt is putting out...my battery with the truck off is 12.6v.:.here is the funny part...if i turn on all the lights and the front and rear AC the voltage jumps up to 14.9...is my alt dying on me or is it the batt?

My Christmas gift from my family is going to be a new HU. I'm replacing a Dual unit with either a Pioneer or Kenwood as I've heard more good things from those 2. The new Pioneers have android app control through Bluetooth. The BT in my Dual has pretty crappy volume compared to plugging it through the aux jack. Are all units like that? Or is it just the fact I've been running a lower quality HU?

I own a 2003 sunfire which currently has a 105amp alternator. I was looking to run about 1300rms off it, but I know the alternator isn't big enough. The problem I'm having is that I can't find anyone who builds a high output alternator for my car, and I looked into getting it rebuilt, but I can't do that either. I don't know what to do. Are there any specialists for problems like this, or am I screwed?

So I picked up a pair of Hertz Hsk165's and need some help with choosing an amp. Amp will be ran off of a kenwood 8120. I have about 400 to spend... but I wouldn't mind spending less. Which do you guys think would push a pair of fully loaded dual 2ohm BL 15s better between the 2amps here; the MM4000.1D(2000rms x 2 @1ohm or 4000rms x 1 @2ohm) or 2-SAZ-1500Ds(Id prefer to run them strapped @0.5ohm)? Electrical system would be able to sufficiently run either or.

i was really close to ordering a Pioneer AVIC-D3 for the Mini. well, its 700 shipped, 6.1" screen, navi, etc. for a couple hundred more, why not get a carPC? so im doing just that. i ordered the 10.4" samsung VGA touchscreen. i need to figure out the PC thing now. im mostly concerned with the audio output. im going to keep my Head unit, and run audio out from the PC, to red/white aux in on the nakamichi HU. then sub/front/rear outs from the HU, to the EQ, then to the crossover, then to the amps. my question is, if the audio out on the PC is a standard 3.5mm jack, would is sound bad if i ran 3.5mm out from pc, to red/white aux in on HU? Hey guy don't know if you've heard anything about the JBL GTO 1400.1 amp. I was thinking of changing my older PG Tantrum for it. I'm currently driving a JL 13w7 with the PG but I think it's not putting out the wattage it says it does, I mean the fuse rating is only 80 amps compared to the JBL 160 amps. What do you think?

I'm looking for a solid amp for my mids and highs, 125-150 rms @ 4 ohms. A friend of mine is pushing me towards the Jl 300.2 but I know there are cheaper alternatives that are just as good. I'd like to keep the price around 200-300$. Thanks for any input!

so mostly everyone knows about clipping, when the music gets turned up and it hits a bass note, starts to play it then quickly drops off. well i've been having this problem ever since i got my new setup and i've read the how to set the gain of an amp thread, done it. no change and i've tested the impedance of my vioce coils and they're correct, dual 1s i've tested the ohms on the output of my amp and it's reading 2 flat which is what it's supposed to be i've re wired my sub to the amp and checked my rca's but it still clips when it gets turned up. any other suggestions, please?
